I’m been thinking about to make one guitar, but I’m been researching have some brain storm gather information probably. I’m taking too long just to choose right method in affordable way, but this video even drag me toward make one very inspiring. I like the method you explain. it’s very understandable.

am I the only one watching these videos who isn't a guitar builder? lol.....I'm sure it's not your intention but when I watch I realize that building guitars is probably not for me. Wow, so so much to take in.....Regardless, I will watch the entire series because I do love acoustic guitars & your vids are instructive & entertaining at the same time, great job!

Again, some clear explanations, Adam. Thanks! Q. What is the specific LMII name and pattern you used for this build? I really am coming around to liking this pattern!

A quick rig up with a motor and a pulley and that sanding dish could easily do all that work for you in seconds

Hi Adam, First of all thanks you so much for your video. I love it! I have question about Guitar side? You said Hill Block and Inter Block are different about 1 inches, how about any radius at the middle of the side or we just chisel and sand it down until it hit both Blocks? Thank you so much,

Thank you for making this video.If I use a 28 jnch radius dish on both sides om a grand auditorium will it still be ok? Does it matter.?

How thick are your sides and back? I'm just starting a build like this and your vids are super helpful.

brianvanh awesome! I think i say it in my video about joining the plates. I want to say 0.086 but I’d double check over there, and see what other people online are doing. Good luck on your build!

what is the point of a sanding dish? why cant the whole body just be flat?
@tomashford2247

What I've learned, aside from the acoustic qualities, is that by radiusing the front and back you allow the wood to have a place to go when the humidity drops and the wood shrinks a bit. Imagine a guitar with a flat back that is built in a humid environment, so that when the humidity drops and the wood shrinks, the back has to crack in order to release the stress.

@@tomashford2247 is the sanding dish flat? Like is that just a 40 inch flat piece of wood with sandpaper glues on top of it or does it bulge upward a bit and how much does it need to bulge upward if it does.
@tomashford2247
@tomashford2247 3 года назад
@@michelleberlinger7389 Think of it more like a bowl than a dish. So, imagine that an 80 foot diameter ball is set down in some concrete which then hardens up. When the ball is pushed off there is an impression , say, 3 feet in diameter. That's a 40 foot radius dish.

The hand tool you're calling a "planer" is a correctly called a "block plane." A planer is a machine that performs planing operations. Hand planes are not "planers." They're just "planes." I'm sorry to be nitpicky, but I think correct use of terminology is important when communicating about technical topics.
