That is the longest flight you will ever set thru. The hardest part is telling the mom and dad, wife, daughter or son, that you brought them back home, yes grown men cry
I sit atop pikes Peak, I hike it. I carry a bottle of Garrison with me ever year. I pur myself a glass, and sit holding it in my hand as I stare off in the distance. I say a silent prayer and pour the rest of the bottle out.
Say a prayer for the fallen, now toast to their glory. Raise those glasses, raise em high, point them towards the sky, now turn upside down and drink em dry. Cherish the brotherhood and always remember we will be united in Valhalla.
AMEN!!!!!!! Man your words and post got me AGAIN!!!!! And doesn’t matter how many times I see or hear something it gets me when written and said or sung like ALL of y’all. I don’t I much but an EMT 2 and on the Fire Dept BUT MY HUSBAND is the real hero he is big and strong and I WISH I made more $$$$$ So he could do it full time (I would ok if he did now......I was raised BIG TIME DIFFERENTLY BUT HIS FAMILY IS who or was who they were BECAUSE OF EXTREME COMMITMENT AND HARD WORK just between that and God led them to more ANYWAYS) I was just trying to say I can live on ramen noodles (prefer a garden though) BUT HE IS PRIMARILY a firefighter and our house runs some calls!!!!!!! Course we have a bad section of I-20, quite a few large chicken houses and I mean ALOT some businesses ALOT of older people and county roads and in MS MEGA WEATHER COMBO. BUT I WISH I COULD drink one for these who give it all now. I will still put some juice or tea in a shot glass or whiskey glass and do it for them!!!! And my family was always really patriotic BUT I WAS IMPACTED by 9/11 ........tons of friends and family fought Nd I had JUST HUNG UP THE PHOEB with an investment banker who is no longer with us and the tv was on in the bank lobby. I am NOT a criers AT ALL UNTIL IT COMES TO PATRIOTISM NO MATTER WHAT SHAPE USA is in like now. I WILL STILL STAND PROUD AND STRONG!!!!!! If you or family served THANK YOU!!!!!
I'm late to this video. My brother in law is army. I bought a Thors hammer necklace the 1st time he was deployed. Knew he couldn't wear it but felt better he had it with him. Love your whole comment & especially the part about Valhalla!! By the way I'm a 44 yr. Old woman from Nebraska. Have a blessed day.
@@jtaye2051 thanks you and thank your brother in law for his service. WARRIORS til we meet again on the streets paved of gold and the taps flow with spirits.
@@jtaye2051 yes I did, I retired 20 years US Army. Seen my sand storms and bad days. Best days was always walking off that plane into family arms. Just remember ever message he recieves from family he will cherish. Ever pray matters. Every hug when he is home is heart warming. Ever moment matters
I am a 45 year old retired Soldier. I am crying, I want blame it on dust, etc, it's tears of emotion. Thank you for reacting to this and honoring all of the fallen. Til Vallahia
Our traditional toast To the ones new in, we take a shot To the old ones out, we take a shot To the ones we lost, we raise our glass to the brothers fallen, from all wars past
Amazing song with simple music and a powerful, impactful message. I believe Darius Rucker is the second voice on this song. He said when Radney contacted him to collaborate on it and sent him the music and an early cut, he called back and said he'd be happy to sing it with him if he could ever stop crying. You guys did a great job of honoring it. Thank you.
As an Air Force Veteran and widow of an Air Force Veteran I can not hear this without tears flowing. To me other than the National Anthem this is the most moving piece I've ever heard. It's hard to sit through it. Prayers for all our military and for the families of the fallen and for those who bring those fallen home. I haven't drank in more years than I did drink. Just not my cup of tea. However I kinda wish I had a dram right now.
That got me. I talk with Veterans in my job. I appreciate your service. To all Vets who watch this reaction video, and especially to you, Keith. I don't think I've never told you that. But, it is much appreciated. It takes a special kind of person to do what you guys did.
March 23 will be the day I accompanied a Hero home. That was the most distinguished flight, mission, that I have ever been on. I visit his grave every year and leave a quarter.
@@BourbonCountryReacts My time as an Army wife was long ago but still very fresh. So many things stay on the forefront and for that I am grateful. I'm a much more appreciative person because of those years.
I have watched this video every year on Memorial day and share it on social media. there is a movie " Taking Chance" that also gives more insight as to the honor that is given to our fallen hero's. if you have time it is a movie that will never leave you and will always be reminded of the Respect that all our Military deserve. God Bless them all. I wanted to add that I have heard thru the grapevine that No matter where Angel Flight will always be the first to land,, even if Air Force one is coming in at the same time they will have to wait...WOW
I went on a funeral detail to Ft. Polk Louisiana when I was in the 1st Cav assigned to The Horse Cavalry Detachment at Ft. Hood. The ceremony was for the soldiers of the 3rd Infantry Division that were lost during Panama. The boots were placed backwards in the stirrups of the horses that we lead during the ceremony. It was humbling and one of the most honorable details I was ever a part of and I'll never forget it.
This song with Darius Rukker signing backup makes me cry. I’ve been at the airport for an Angel Flight. The ceremony reminds me of The Tomb of the Unknown Solder … React to ‘Arlington’ and Paul Harvey’s ‘National Anthem’
Absolutely a beautiful song! Thanks guys you got me crying over my beer, lol! ❤️❤️❤️ I seriously thank every veteran for their service to this great country!
I’ve always loved Radney Foster and he’s an amazing songwriter, but he’s never sung a more moving and beautiful tribute. For another one to hit you in the feels, check my comment from your review of Trace’s Empty Chair. You can add another vote though for Mikele Buck and Irish Road!! Good job guys.
This song gets to me every time I hear it. I have been honored to become friends with the Gold Star Families in the area, and I think of the heroes they lost and imagine their sons/husbands being on these flights. God Bless our military and first responders.
Just to let you know, Garrison Brothers is in Hye, TX population 130. The bourbon is great. Kentucky bourbon companies bring their barrels to TX to age. You can go on a tour and dip the bottle to seal the wax. I have ADHD so I didn't try. I wasn't going to spill bourbon that is $125/bottle. 😂 Thanks for the tribute to Angel Flight. It's a beautiful song. When Radney Foster asked Darius Rucker to sing the backup for the song, he replied that if he could stop crying he would do it. 😢 Absolutely beautiful harmonies.
Sorry for the onions guys, didn't expect both of you to get teared up, expected Keith, but not you Dustin. But again thank you for reacting, the dust is big over here too.
To be quite honest Angel flight radio tower remix is an incredibly effective song at hitting you in the fields. I literally have gotten to this point where I hear the name I start to cry. And I'm kind of surprised that the Texas bourbon didn't taste like it was limestone filtered because I know here in Central Texas our water is limestone filtered through the through a fault line it's great water. Enjoyed the reaction as always.
Oh my. Haven't heard this in so long. Radney's voice is beautiful. Thank you for your reaction💖💖. My family has some military experience. My son was in the Navy, so was my oldest brother. My dad was a merchant marine then joined the Army Infantry (Korean War), his dad (a medic) was a p.o.w. and survived the Bataan Death March. My maternal grandpa was in the Army then the Marines, he loved it.
Thanks for your reaction on this song. I have been waiting a long time for your react to this song. For me it's good to see that our military is doing the right thing for our fallen soldiers but I can't imagine what family members go through when their love one's are never found to be brought home in the first place.
No matter how many planes are ahead of them in the pattern, an Angels’ Flight takes precedence over them all. Even AirForce One must give way, and wait upon the Fallen.
@ 5:30 *First time I found you guys and I like bourbon. When did they stop doing the flares? Depending on air traffic and ground conditions, Air traffic control would usually let them do a fly by to release a flares for the family. When did that stop? When I was active Marine I would often already be there with the family and help them adjust to the dead Warrior coming home.* *I guess now that we have a weaker military ... Everything is changed* _I loaded way too many good men on those planes_
I'm surprised no one has said this already in the chat, but angle flights have #1 priority at all USA airports, even air force 1 has to wait if a angel flight is landing at the same airport at the same time the President is wanting to land.
I wanna say right after high school I had a buddy who's dad did contract work in the middle east. I was at his house one night...my friends mom was talking to her husband who was in the middle east...in the middle of the conversation the call got cut off because of an an angel flight
Any American 🇺🇸 who does not shed a tear or at least get choked up when watching this video, they have no idea or appreciate what Freedom is all about and the sacrifices made to have it. Freedom is for all.
When you give that final salute, everything floats true your mind. You are honoring the person, but you are honestly thinking about yourself in his beseaning
My father was in Da Nang, Vietnam. He loaded the fallen on the Plane(Angel Flight. He took care of the bodies in the body bags. This had a profound affect on my Dad the rest of his life...
The one thing alot of people don't know, an Angel Flight has priority over all flights, it's has priority landing and take off, it trumps Air Force One in take off and landing.
When you are ready for your next patriotic song, here is another of one of my favorites - "Best Patriotic Song - Mr Red White and Blue - Coffey Anderson (on iTunes)" bycoffeysouthernman
I think you have a big enough library now to put together a gets to you in a good way playlist for when you want to be somber and have a drink and take it all in.
The Angel Flights are still going to pick up service men from different eras of time in places we were in conflict with, you think about it some are being returned to us decades later
i am so glad i have never had someone who had to be brought home by angel flight as of yet. but with a family rich in military service and a niece in active duty army and a nephew in army reserves, it could only be a matter of time, though hopefully not the one's i'm closest to.
My brother in law would like that song. He worked on C-130s all his life in the marines but now works on the AH-1Z Vipers which they always call Bell some reason.
hope you got the official video on this one! *dustin mentions the name of the video* YES! it's the official video! *video starts* well not the official video but close enough!
There is a song by Randy Houser, called Power of a Song, which literally talks about how a song can move a person better than almost any other medium. You guys should give it a listen.
😢First time hearing this one for me too. I cried. If I hear it one more time I'll be a puddley mess. Wow! Radney Foster, haven't heard from him in over a decade. So don't send you pear infused bourbon? I didn't like it but next time I'm at a liquor store I was gonna grab a bottle.
Amazing song. Garrison Brothers is the first legal distillary in Texas. Texas has its whiskey rules too. In order for it to be considered a "Texas" whiskey it has to have all Texas ingredients. I haven't tried a bad Garrison Brothers bottle yet.
@@BourbonCountryReacts I have had there stuff before. I will have to see if I can find a way to send you some. I consider it between Garrison Brothers and Miliam and Green
"Onion warning"... you really need to listen to "Teddy Bear's Last Ride" by Red Sobine. It's another story/ song without singing. Wonderful song about the big hearts of truckers.
