One big improvement - I imagine - not mentioned would be the hydraulic brakes. I have a RW4, and the cables stretch, and generally just feel barely adequate when hauling around any weight.

Thank you, the measurements and 1:1 comparison with the RW4 are very helpful.

Great review! I have a 2019 Radwagon, and one of the selling points for me was that the battery had Samsung cells. The Radwagon 5 specs say you are getting Samsung or LG cells, and that the battery is UL certified. I have seen e-bikes where the specifications effectively just say "battery." What exactly are you getting? When an e-bike battery can be $500-$600, a low-cost battery has no value. If the specifications on a low-cost e-bike says, "battery and wires and stuff," you need to run away. Paying a little more up front can and probably will save you money in the long-term. It would be disingenuous to pretend $2,199 isn't a lot of money, especially for people who are getting back into cycling after decades, or buying an e-bike for the first time. For an e-cargo bike, I would call the Radwagon 5 inexpensive (for an e-cargo bike) but not cheap. This looks like a high value-for-the-money bike. A better or higher quality cargo bike, say with a mid-drive Bosch unit and possibly belt drive is going to cost $4,500-$6,500. One day I may buy one of the premium e-cargo bikes, but I've put 3,831 miles on my Radwagon with zero issues. I've ridden the bike 184 times, with an average ride distance of 20.63 miles, and an average distance-per-charge of 48 miles. I see no reason to upgrade. For the most part, I ride in PAS-1, and use PAS-2 and PAS-3 sparingly. My longest ride was 62.6 miles. I have not seen the distance-per-charge degrade yet. I believe in part this is due to high-quality battery cells.

They moved that mounting block back for the baby seat in the rear position. Good design change.

The website says the new footboards work on the RW4 so i would think the old ones should work on the new bike.

Thank you for watching! 😊 Backward compatibility: yes (RW5 running boards work on both) RW4 running boards do not work on RW5 as stated on that product's page of their website

If you toggle the settings to Class 3, does the throttle still work?
@casabikes
@casabikes 3 месяца назад
Thank you for watching! The short answer is yes -- there are a couple class 3 settings that can be used depending on your location and one of these settings enables throttle to 20mph

Why aren't people throwing the magic cycle deer in with these comparisons? I know it doesn't look like a cargo bike, but it clearly is. It's also the only cargo bike I have found that will ride on loose pack sand? Not a fanboy I just want an honest comparison between these cargo bikes and the magic cycle deer.

Does anyone know if pegs work or RadWagon 5 or do you have to buy the running boards for a passenger? The running boards have been out of stock.

Thanks for coming by to check out our video! Unfortunately pegs do not work for the RW5, but I do believe the running boards are back in stock.

@@casabikes You are right pegs do not work as is. We cut an inch off the bolt and now they fit on Radwagon 5.

I think rad wagon 4 frame is stronger than wagon 5 . Look at the seat of frame you will see it clearly .It is also that the battery location of wagon 5 make at the back more heavier
@recurrenTopology
@recurrenTopology 2 месяца назад
I wouldn't be so sure. The 5 is 6.6 lbs. heavier (without batteries) despite being shorter in both height and length (though it has added front suspension). It also has a 25 lbs. more. The down tube looks significantly beefier, and the diagonal tubes by the battery should be good for rigidity.
