Big Hi from us from the WAVE... Great video.. Nice to see it from the other side.. Wednesday they managed to repair the KC-130 and has flown on all the sorties since..
That's good to know. I waited all week to see if it would fly. I spent the Monday morning up at the WAVE so there will be a little video coming from there when I get chance to make it.
Hi, thanks for the subscription. The footage is a mixture of my phone (Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra) and a Nikon Z8. The wider and landing shots are with the phone and the close ups are with the Z8. My main goal is taking photos and I just try and grab whatever video footage I can.
@@garyforsyth I'm the opposite to you in that video comes first and taking photos is secondary. I also use the S24 Ultra, but my Sony camcorder takes far better video, but isn't always with me. What lens do you use with Yr camera?
@@TransportNostalgia The S24 Ultra is the first phone that I've been happy with the video quality. I shoot everything in 4K 60 and apart from only having a 5X zoom lens I have found it really good. It is always bolted to the top of the camera. I find it stabilizes the footage really well. I used a Sony AX53 in the same way for years but always found the footage a bit shakey. I shot 95% of my week at the air tattoo with the phone as a test and sold the camcorder straight afterwards. I'm fortunate enough to have a pair of Nikon Z8's and just use whatever lenses I have on to allow me to take the photos that I want. In this video I was using the Nikon Z180-600 and Z28-400mm lenses.
@@garyforsyth I always use 4k 60 with the phone. My previous camcorder didn't have a viewfinder which I tend to use when filming, especially with aircraft (I use a rubber hood to keep out the light), and that helps to keep footage steady. Impossible to film planes using the screen.
