RAF WOODFORD 2000 DRAKEN DISPLAY 

I was driving on one of the country roads alongside Woodfood when this display was taking place. When he did the low pass at about 03:40 he came right over the top of a van going in the opposite direction - I'll never forget that van driver's face as it roared on by, taking him completely by surprise. Epic.

Hi@All i grown up in Graz near Airbase Nitter, where Draken was deployed Years ago! found this Video right now, and it remebers me when i was young and the Draken took off with Afterburner and everything was shaking! Now we have Eurofighter in Austria (deployed in Zeltweg now) and i love the Noise of them, but nothing compares to the Sound of this old Legend :)))

Lovin these old clips of great displays, amazing looking jet the Draken, the shock diamonds are really showing up in this display.

That pilot really lays on the AB. I wander what the After Burner limit is on this craft. Amazing aircraft and beautiful to look at.I need one of these to go to Vegas in.

Looks awesome and I bet it was way better as it's contemporary F104

There's quite many of drakens still flying. I know there is atleast 3 in Sweden flying. And about 30-40 on the ground on museums and on pillars in traffic circles etc

This one got two ext fuel tanks on in this after burner display, and there´s a reason why!! Bird, bird, after burner is the word!! Aktually it was faster and had a higher rate of climb than the 104 starfighter, and was faster but had a bit slower climb rate than the Lightning ( with half the engines, and half the fuel thirst!!)

Man I miss DK's! Those were worlds best at least in one category: converting kerosene into NOISE :)

Did they still conserved some of them for airshows or went they all unfortunatelly scrapped?
