This video is absolutely incredible, crazy job you did there. I’ve been a fan of Rafa for quite a while now, and I was at piece with the fact that he would end his career with only 1 AO, 2014 was too heartbreaking… I had no hope for another AO, maybe another Roland Garros, but AO was out of the picture for sure, I was just enjoying his matches this start of 2022, waking up in the middle of the night to watch him as much as possible cause it felt like his last AO. But what he did, the way he did it…it’s simply insane, winning his 21th major, an all time record in the most competitive era of this sport, in his unluckiest most heartbreaking major is un-real. The way he wins it 2 sets down is so poetic, so true to who he is, an ode to his never give up mentality. Thank you Rafa, there will never be one like you. You fighted like always, and this time it went your way.

I actually had thought you know, that maybe there's gonna be one more AO title, guess it's not the practical and realistic part of me, it's that part of me which believes in "Destiny". AO is the stage where Rafa has suffered the most, has had the most number of heartbreaks, those heartbreaks were too painful that somehow it made me believe that it's not just a tragic story, rather those are the initial chapters of a fairytale where the hero has to suffer before he comes out on top. Actually, what I had thought was that his last GS title is going to be an AO, and I so hope that it's not true.

Mostly 2012 and 2017 where he literally let his advantage slip away by one small mistake that can cost a match, and that's what happened to Nadal those years. I remember when he was up 30-15 up 4-2 against Novak in the fifth and had a clear open court And missed the line by a centimeter which changed the whole fifth set for Nadal on missing an easy one. Then u had the one in 2017 where he was up 3-1 and when he needed to hold serve it was advantage Nadal and went for a big cross court forehand and that ball hit the top of the net leading it out, which also changed the whole feeling of the fifth set for Nadal as he was broken that game and that mistake never looked back.

It didn't happen, but what followed (his injuries which prevented him from competing at Wimbledon, Olympics & US Open) casted a shadow of doubt in the minds of many Rafans whether he'll win a Grand Slam title ever again. Not even the die hard Rafans would have anticipated another AO title even in our wildest dreams. This video captured everything, his disappointments from 2021 season, his heartbreaking losses at AO finals previously & finally the miracle which left every single one of us astounded. I loved this video! You worked hard on this. You showed a lot of match play from the 2021 season. Rafa had a difficult 2021 season, even on the clay court circuit. His loss, at the French Open 2021, to Novak was a sharp dagger through my heart. After he pulled out of Wimbledon, we all knew something was wrong. This was not Rafael Nadal. The rest of the season was so gloomy. I didn't watch very much tennis and just stayed sharp for any news of a Nadal comeback. When Rafa played Abu Dhabi, there was a lot "off" with his game. It was an exhibition match but it just didn't look good. He caught Covid and then announced his entry into Melbourne. I was eager to see what real match play would show. He won that tournament but still didn't look like the Rafa we have all come to know. With the AO22 draw, a lot of commentators kept saying it was a tough draw. I don't think many thought he would make it past the 3rd round. When he made the final, there was a glimmer of hope. I have watched that finals match twice. A confident Medvedev and a less than Nadal made for an impossible win...but here we are. Just flippin' amazing! It was so incredible! I was speechless and left in shock! After 2 sets down I didn't know if he could even win the 3rd set...but here we are. So much respect! I am so happy he was able to win his second Australian Open title. I am left in awe, even after almost one week. Thank you, Rafa, for this incredible gift.

@@tennisradu First of all I was basing my statement off of the original Men's Draw before any match play had started. Nadal was supposed to meet Thanasi Kokkinakis in the 2nd round but Hanfmann beat him in straight sets in the first round. Kokkinakis is an Aussie. It was expected to be a tough match for Nadal in front of an Australian crowd and Kokkinakis was coming in with his first ATP tournament win in Adelaide. Not to mention Nadal chose to play AO22 at the last minute and almost didn't fly to Australia at all due to his lack of training, foot issues and his bout with Covid19. He was not expected to go past the 3rd round, if he even made it past Kokkinakis. You can take it or leave it. By the look of your name, you sound like another rude Balkan. I read the rude and nasty comments, of Balkans, and have come to expect this from your region of the world. Are you aware of the murder of Bakari Henderson? If not, read up on it. It will explain a lot about the mentality of your region. You enjoy the rest of your day, Radu.

@@andyroo9381 Everyone who knows me from here noticed I'm a Nadal fan by miles. 😁 My name has no relevance in this discussion (I'm a Romanian, not a Serbian, btw) as I wasn't the one who chose it. From your comment I can clearly claim you have no idea about tennis at all, because as everybody knows, the initial draw in a tournament (especially in a GS) is never the same as the actual draw. There are always upsets in sports, because that's what makes it unpredictable. Nadal NEVER made the decision to play AO in the last minute. On November 1st he announced his calendar for the first time. When he tested positive for Covid on December 19th, he said he would adjust his calendar IN CASE his recovery took a bit longer. That wasn't the case as even Craig Tiley, the AO tournament director, said 2 days after Rafa announced he's positive, that he expected Rafa to play AO. People like you always love dramatizing everything related to Rafa. If you had actually seen the way he played at the Melbourne Summer set, tournament he won, you'd have realised Rafa was on the right way to recover physically and mentally. Of course NOBODY expected him to win AO given his actual context, which was magnificent, but saying he wouldn't have beaten players like Kokkinakis or Khachanov is ridiculous and narrowminded. Cheers 😁

Beautiful recap and storytelling on 21st grand slam victory. Of the 3 champions Nadal is the one who holds a fiery flame of relentless passion to keep on fighting to the end and he is also the modest and humble winner. I love you Rafa! El Champion 🏆.

I was following Nadal since 2009 2010 and I know very well how much he won in tennis .. I knew he is simply the best ever but I never thought he gonna have this super potential in this last year to do what he did is just unbelievable I never ever expected this tremendous revolution inside him. He is definitley the best ever in tennis he is so incredible.. I am in shock by him wowww 😱😱😱💥💥💥💥

Wow!!! Its a beautifully made video. How life came at a full circle for Rafa at the Australian Open. He lost to 2 giants in 2012 and 2017 when he was up a break in the 5th set. And see how he overtook both these giants in terms of number of Majors won at the same place he had that bad luck. Brilliant!!!

I've genuinely watched this video every day for the past week and I can't help feeling emotional every single time. I have sat through all of the matches shown here and getting to relive the emotions that have led to this unreal victory in Rafa's career, in this truly amazing video you have produced, is almost overwhelming. 21st Grand Slam title in the most unbelievable and poetic way possible. Thank you for the effort you've put in this.

There will always b debate, who is G.O.A.T. and honestly if you go by stats it will be Djokovic by d the end of his career but for us Rafa fans it doesn't matter.. the emotions he evokes within us, the inspiration he serves for us to keep fighting, to never give up and above to always remain humble irrespective of one's achievement will hardly be done by anyone else in our lifetime. For us he is not just GOAT tennis player, he is GOAT sportsperson.

I used to put the 2012 AO as the greatest ever. This match surpasses that. Of all his epic matches it’s very hard to pick the best. God, what a treat to watch that match ! I too had a tear or two as I thought of the times I was convinced he was finished.

The synonym for transcendence is Rafa. Just to be clear that transcendence is not in the category of superlatives. Transcendence is the dissolution of thought that attempts to describe. It is prior to and beyond every description. Rafa is not superhuman. On the contrary, he is fully human - he fully embraces suffering, he fully breathes self-doubt, he fully respects each and every player, each and every human being across the planet, he fully respects every tennis 🎾 racquet if he's not smashed a single one, he fully loves Real Madrid, he fully respects Roger and Novak, he fully loves humanity. Transcendence when lived is humility, humility, humility. Rafa!

He looked down and out after that second set and was on the brink of another crushing defeat. This was truly a comeback for the ages. This match will go down in the annals of tennis history.
