Another great reaction, man. I find it hard to sleep in total silence too. I use rain sounds or the sound of a fan to silence the internal dialogue and help me drift off. In regards to guitar strings shredding your fingers, I'd recommend trying some lighter strings if you haven't already. It made a world of difference for me. As did having the strings lowered closer to the fret board. Also, technique is important: finger-placement and trying to find that sweet spot between pressing too lightly or too hard on the strings. I'm self-taught and for years I was pressing down way too hard on the strings, due to using the heavy strings that came with the guitar, and because the strings were too high-up from the fret board. After sorting those problems out I found myself wanting to practice and play much more often, so was finally able to progress much faster. A lot of professional musicians use extra light strings when on tour. And strings can be even lighter and lower down on electric guitar. I find electric a lot easier to play, but I still prefer my acoustic for the tones and general sound. For acoustic guitar I'd recommend: D'Addario Acoustic Guitar Strings - 80/20 Bronze - EJ10 - Extra Light, 10-47

Night time noise is my fortè too brotha ur not alone. I'm a musician so when I was on stage I forgot to wear my earplugs and I went by the sound of the band so I never heard the crowd but it's an even stronger feeling when ur there
