It’s the lead triangle players with the attitude - and I’m so over the fake triangle videos they’ve been posting. It’s like a contest to see who can do the fastest triangle gymnastics. It has to stop. I’m making my call out vids soon. The rhythm triangle players are still keeping it real... don’t get me started on the spoons cats....
Yep! He is a more versatile guitarist (Rob just plays high gain and rips solos much to Capt dismay it seems at times). Danish Pete and the Capt have a better chemistry anymore. You can tell they respect eachother. Rob respects noone but himself.
@Michael Miller You know I waited until I was about 49 before I took my guitar playing serious. I got on this here You Tube contraption and spent a lot of time talking with other players and getting advice and for the most part it was great. But I have noticed that especially these past 3 years it has gotten really bad. It just seems that the guitar community is filled with a bunch of people who really just hate other people who have a different opinion than they do. I used to belong to a Facebook group of guitarists as well and I was shocked by some of the things people were saying to one another. The post that was the final straw for me was one of a young 14 year old who had just been given their first ever acoustic guitar and they made a video of their playing. Of course it was horrible lol, but the comments that young man received were totally uncalled for and I had had enough at that point. Now with all this calling out of fake guitarists and this new channel "exposing" big names in the You Tube world, I fear You Tube is going to be such a toxic environment that most people will stay away from it.
@@alabamahebrew sadly the RU-vid purge is real in the political arena but it'll come for the guitar community if these shenanigans continue. It's sad because i have learned so much from great players like Levi, Zoupa, MusicisWin, Paul Davids, etc, etc....all brilliant and amazing players but it has taken its toll. Tina S has bowed out because of the toxic nature which is really sad because she is a super player. I hope this pettiness solves itself without RU-vid's blunt intervention.
And Rob - when I get you in that Hell in a Cell there’s gonna be no running to mommy! I’m gonna best you like you’ve never been beaten before put your shoulders down for the 1 2 3 and leave with the belt. ..... Cue Rob’s lawyers for threats....
@@LeviClay Duke it out guitar "crossroads" style, Personally i find Rob's playing safe and very pedestrian so i'm giving the Jack Butler role to Clay....LOL we all know Butler felt sorry for Ralph and screwed up on purpose but damn he sure as hell shredded out some great stuff with Butler's bag.🤘🤘🤘
And....... Trust Dovydas to put in a winger like that. This is blowing out of proportion...... I think we are all in for a slamming ride. I wonder who gets the belt.... Lee runs off with it after everyone passes out from their own ego farts.
Levi, video aside, I've not been about in the "guitar community" for a long time. But I'm really happy you're doing well! I remember the days on the Guthrie Govan forum and you were an absolute champ for your transcriptions. Keep up the work!
I am not a huge Rob-fan, but some of your reasoning in this video is faulty. Even if you didn't threaten Rob on a particular day does not mean that someone else didn't threaten him on the very same day. Just saying.
I’m a casual observer of this, and not only is that true, it’s obvious. I watched some guitar RU-vid videos when I got back into guitar two years ago and was planning to buy one. And I watched some of the guitar videos from these RU-vidr. I’m planning to get one for my girlfriend and suddenly I see all these videos about the dramas in the community. Like, what the fuck is going on here?
In related news: I’d like to say thank you for the education, specifically regarding chord tones and how scales fit and complement those chord tones. It’s like you switched the lights on 👍🏻
It seems that almost all of the negative comments here are from people who missed (or did not watch) the part in Rob's video where he claimed the only people he threatened with legal action were people who had threatened him with violence. That was proven to be false, in this video. Not sure what part of that people are not understanding.
They are being delusional. It’s difficult to hear that someone they’ve admired is a jerk, who took money from his fans for something he obviously had the cash for.
Well, the one was really more for his band mates, who likely aren't as well off. And people could simply choose not to donate. The one where there was supposed to be a video posted to show him being presented with the gift, that never happened, isn't a good look though. What was promised should have been delivered. Not sure if people were able to request refunds for that one though? To be clear, I am not here to hate on Rob, but I can understand Levi's animosity considering what happened, but at least Rob did let it go in the end and did not push it. I enjoy a lot of what Rob puts out as well, but there is no denying that he could have handled things better. If he had just said something like, 'I am sorry, I overreacted to some people's criticism', that would have been a much better way to handle it. Or, probably better yet, he could have just ignored the video he responded to altogether.
Well, obviously some fans were willing to help out, so why not let them? I have supported many artists I love over the years by buying albums, official merchandise, and tickets to shows, not because I had to, but because I wanted to. I know those are not quite the same thing as simply giving money, but it is just a different way of supporting a band trying to make a living.
I’m not convinced these rob chapman exposed videos are real...I feel like they’ve been speeded up......but I’m waiting for Jared dines to analyse them.
@@maaaaaap I think there's a point to be made here as well as some misunderstanding as to what is vital and/or relevant. Food is vital for life, as is water and air. There are no substitutes. We didn't make it that way, it just is that way. Human interaction in physical form is vital for good mental and psychological health. Again, that's not how we made it, it just is that way. So, in regards to social media, its vitality as a form of interaction and communication is not the same as face to face interaction. Any vitality and relevance that it has is only there because that is what we have given it, and that is a very different thing. It's not there naturally, but is there because we have made it that way. Social media, facebook, twitter, instagram, youtube, these are not real life face to face interactions. If they went away tomorrow we would be okay, we'd survive. But, take away true face to face human interaction in real time and the world and the people in it would suffer tremendously. There is a difference between the two and people have forgotten that. In fact, a great many will place more emphasis on social media than face to face contact and communication. What is electronic and virtual has, to far too many, become more real than what is actually real. People have forgotten that social interaction takes place in real time in the real world. True Social interaction is a Face to Face matter, not something that is done electronically. That is not social interaction. Social interaction is not obtained within electronic social media. True, social media is a form of communication, but it is only vital in the sense that we have made it that way, and that doesn't make something truly "Vital". There is a distinct difference, and it's this difference that people no longer understand. Social Medial in all of its forms is simply a tool. Communication via social media is also only a tool. Face to Face Social Interaction and communication is not a tool, it's a necessity for us as humans. There is no substitute and it is and always will be more vital than any online interaction in any form. You cannot have physical sex online, nor can you share a meal with someone online. Notice that I said "with someone". To share a meal with someone while physically being present with each other is an experience that cannot be replicated online. Having a video chat is not the same as sitting across the table with someone, and texting is little more than a postal letter, just much quicker. It's not a substitute for in person face to face communication. For some people this electronic social interaction and communication is 'vital' to their business. But in the sense of what is real and what is virtual, it has no vitality other than what we as a people give it, and it is this fact that has been forgotten. People have substituted meanings of words to mean completely different things in order to accommodate all of this technology, but at the risk confusing levels of interaction to being the same thing, which they are emphatically not. What's worse, people wont even understand what it is that I am saying at all, or they'll miss the import of it completely. It'll all go right over their heads. For those people all I can suggest is that they look up a steak or some kind of wonderful meal online, find a good one, and then try to eat that virtual representation through the use of their computer, tablet, smart phone, etc. Oh....yeah you can order it and have it delivered, but at that point it's no longer virtual and is no longer just a part of the virtual world. Once delivered it's right there in your face in front of you ready to be eaten. If you are hungry, the virtual representation of it does you absolutely no good at all. It's only when it becomes an actual physical reality in front of you that you can partake in all it's savory goodness. If you think that social media and social interaction of any kind is any different than the scenario in the above paragraph, then you have lost touch with the real world, and that's the problem. One is in the real world, the other is in an electronic virtual environment. They are not the same, cannot be the same, and they do not possess the same level of realness. Social media, social media communication, RU-vid, these have all become substitutes for the real thing, but people have come to rely on them as their sole forms of communication and interaction, thinking and believing that they are as real as real can be. Sure, the effect of it definitely has an effect on the world around us, but they are not real in the same sense. It's this confusion about the levels of realness in our world between that which is physical and that which is virtual that is part of the root of many of these online problems. To say social media is meaningless isn't about being in denial. It is, instead, about being able to differentiate between those aspects of life that really truly matter, and those things that do not. There are things that matter simply because of what they are, and there are other things that matter only to the extent that we have given them value. The things that matter for what they are cannot be ignored. Things that matter because of the value that we have given can change quickly and quite drastically. But those things that matter because of their intrinsic nature are not things that we can survive without. We can survive without Social media and RU-vid. We cannot survive without each other in the physical sense. We have to live in the real world, not the virtual world, and as soon as we forget that, which we have, then we are all in big trouble.
Be grateful for what you have. A great deal of the toxicity comes from people who feel they should have been rock stars, and they’re bitter it never happened
By my estimates. In 4-6 months, Levi will have to move out of this studio too because his beard will reach the critical tipping point, displacing so much of the oxygen in the room, that it will no longer be able to sustain human life.
I love your bit about how the word ‘truth’ is sometimes used. Truth is an objective term in it’s very nature. This idea of something as subjective as one’s own beliefs or feelings being true for them and only them are ridiculous and diluting rationality. Kudos to you on that front! ✌️
Simultaneously subscribed to you and unsubscribed from the obvious. Love your “no nonsense” style; never worrying about hurting people’s feelings. Good on you, man Edit: peoples’ > people’s
Just subbed, like the stuff you upload. Also, this guitar beef is brilliant, you should have a ladder match though to settle it rather than hell in a cell.
I get what you are saying, but it isn't that general. He named the topic he doesn't care about. In the video, he clearly stated, that he doesn't care about some topics but he cares about the threatening stuff. For that reason, the "i don't care" statement, does not apply to the whole video. Just wanted to say that, because your comment isn't really true but got so many upvotes and in reality - i don't care about your comment ;)
LOL I love these rage videos, there fun to watch. Brings back fond memories of the wills easy guitar vs the circle of tone debacle. Man that was awesome. So much drama. Way better than stupid network tv rubbish. RU-vid is just so entertaining sometimes.
Ya know, if it was one or two things about Chapman (or even 6 or 7) in Kelan's video, you could say, meh, coincidence, or perhaps we don't know the truth or other side of the story. In my opinion, there were just too many questionable instances. I don't know, anyone who starts a video off with "when you have as much online power as I do..." Seriously? What the hell is "online power" anyway? I've been a fan of several RU-vid guitar channels such as Glenn Fricker, and even some of Rob's earlier stuff. But with the recent info that was shared in Kelan's videos about "Fearless Reviews", (as well as other sources who share the same info), for me, its all left a bad taste. I mean, I kind of feel like I need to make sure a video has no subscribers and minus the 10 friggin' adds when trying to get an honest review of gear. At this point, I'll trust some kid doing a demo who saved up money from his paper route over someone "famous". Just my 2 cents, for what its worth.
Rays Metal Tracks The internet shouldn’t be a platform to unleash a smear campaign on someone you don’t know, based on a few shaky facts and a whole lot of speculation and exaggeration. It seems to me the way some people operate on the internet is akin to road rage. The sense of anonymity seems to permit people to unleash horrific abuse on other people with no conscience. It’s the moral equivalent of the 80 year old driver, driving at 30mph in a 60mph zone, who gives you the finger and blares their car horn angrily when you overtake them. They’ve suffered a momentary lapse in manners. We can do better people.
Don Harrold, I couldn't agree more regarding so many "keyboard warriors". Sometimes it amazes me what folks will write, knowing they are safe retreating behind a screen name and laws that protect their anonymity. Honestly, I don't watch much content from Chapman - but he always seemed like a nice enough guy in his videos, and his line of guitars (the ones I have played) seem like a pretty good bang for the buck. I rarely subscribe to the daily rant of he-said,-she-said that we often find on so many pages these days. Sadly it seems that even the guitar community is not immune to crossing a line to boost view counts. For some reason I felt compelled to comment on Rob's response video. (sidebar: guitar is a hobby of mine, and like most, I don't make a living in music or in the public eye, such as RU-vid. I guess I struggled understanding what Rob refers to "online power", and I think that kind of irked me a bit, which may have been the cause for my post). I don't know Kelan, so I cant stand behind 100% of his claims. I think what also may have been weighing on my mind was the potential for trusted personalities on RU-vid who could be getting behind gear that they are being financially compensated for. I may have been feeling some of that frustration when I wrote my post. I would never want to damage the reputation of another person. Its just really not in my nature. I apologize if any of my comments came off as an intention to put someone down. Thanks Don, I appreciate the reminder. :)
@@donharrold1375 Those keyboard warriors and shaky facts are exactly why people respond so well to evidenced, well researched videos such as KDH's. He put it all out there, but not before doing diligent research and making no claims except for those he was certain of. It was sad to see that Chappers has so many issues with the truth, but it's good to know that he has no hesitation to lie in order to get what he wants. As a guitarist and a guitar purchaser, I'm glad to have that information.
No - I don’t like Rob because of something he did. But it hasn’t been a part of anything I’ve done online and it could have been something I milked to death. But I’m not going to sit here and watch the man lie so his followers will attack Kelan. Outside of that ONE thing I made no comment. I could talk about his guitars. His crowdfunds. ANY of the stuff Kelan talked about... but I don’t care about any of that. I’m not out to get Rob. Just want him to stop lying to people. Own what you did. “Yes I posted that status because I was angry that someone called me out on my actions and lots of people agreed with him” Not “People threatened to kill me REEEEE”
I dont know Brad, he did say he doesn't like him. But you can not like someone but have no beef with them. Some people just dont see eye to eye. Clash of opinions, clash of personalities. Whatever. No beef just respectful disliking. 😊
Wow, Brad, you've really latched onto Chapman's coat-tails. It's sad to me because you really don't need to! You have your own channel which is highly respectable. Witnessing you seemingly aligning yourself with a snake oil elitist and known liar like Chapman - and even bothering to go defend his holy honor in other channels - is just disturbing to see.
The Guitologist at no point did he say he hated rob chapman. He said he didn’t like rob. At 11:00 he said he had no personal beef with rob. it is entirely possible to have no immediate personal beef with someone you don’t like. P.s I mean no disrespect Brad. I love your channel and I’ve learned a lot about amp repair from you (I build amps and pedals) I just didn’t really get your comment
🤣🤣🤣 "I hate to be negative." Proceeds to be negative. "Naming people who attack you is in poor taste." "Let me tell you about Rob." "He couldn't just let it go." Proceeds to NOT let it go. Interneting is fun in a sad kind of way. Fortunately, I don't have a horse in this or any such race. [I agree,] all of this is pretty sad and pathetic. 🤣
Yep. The contradictions are kinda painful. I came to see if there was substance behind the clickbait, and it amounts to little more than a grudge with Rob. I might not like several of Rob's videos, but I have zero interest in anything else this guy has.
@Baggins- Hey man, I was just watching a movie called "Starfish". It was the top recommened sci fi film on a review site. 20 minutes in, I said this blows and shut off. If you think this is sad and pathetic, why don't you just get lost?
@@Cozzmos I seriously have no idea what you're trying to say. Regardless, I was simply pointing out how silly these he said/she said internet debates can be. As for the "pathetic" comment, I was quoting the guy in the video. You should watch it. It was a pretty solid reply, despite the logical inconsistencies in the delivery. 😉
Just hold your tongue and concentrate on yourself, Levi. This video didn't have to be made. We;re spankin' around pieces of wood with Strings and Magnets. Remember that. Don't take things so seriously. This video personifies the main problem with the "Guitar Community. Concentrate on yourself. Better yourself. Move on.

Chapman always came across as a salesman from the first time I see him on Andertons. You see alot of comments from his fans of how inspirational he was to them but he rarely gave anything to the community except the odd 10 myths video. Thank god for Sweedish Jesus (Ola)
I'm starting to think Chapman has paid shills to defend him online. It just seems so fake the amount of "inspired me to play, I love you Rob" comments I see. Go look at the video exposing him and it's really quite obvious. Either that or these people are blind sheep to not be able to see through it all.
@Michael Miller not entirely.. But you're right and he wasn't wrong to do that but following that he never really inspired me to play or buy his guitars.. It just made me wonder why so many comment with nothing but praise for him.
I've watched 5 or 6 vids from this channel. Learned some things. Never knew you've made any rage videos. I really like anderson videos. Dont generally like rob videos or his playing. Lee and pete, love it. Rob, not so much. But he did make fun videos with lee for a long time
7:11 “Under common law, to constitute defamation, a claim must generally be false and must have been made to someone other than the person defamed” The claim was an accurate description, most fools out there think that if someone makes you look bad, then it’s defamation...
Hi there Levi. So interesting to see your video. I was just checking your friends channel. Has the video now been removed?! I certainly cannot see it in the search results.
When you wish for someone to die you have to expect some kind of a response. Everything you’ve said and shown seems to attempt to attach to a trend to try and help your channel.
The online guitar community today feels like internet trolling from the 90's newsgroup era. And, "raging" online sounds exactly like teen girls having an argument.
@@PaulAnnis hi Stick, I was thinking about you just the other day... what actually happened? That era of RC videos shot at your house with that cranked Marshall was the best. No ego evident then, just a lot of fun. I guess fame went to Chappers' head?
Richard Harrold Hi, Yeah, they were fun. And you’re right! What happened? Judging by the tone of videos now days I may be sued or threatened 😂 I turned up to a monthly shoot, (record audio as normal) and I was told he didn’t want to work with me anymore, a friend for years couldn’t call me up and have a chat about what they didn’t like etc etc or what they wanted to do or people they wanted to work with. I got there and a someone else told me it was either them or me, so I went. I’ve never heard a peep from them since (6 years is it?)) pretty shit friend really.
@@PaulAnnis WTF? That's just plain weird. OK, the production values of your videos were by today's standards somewhat low, but (a) I don't think anyone cared and (b) so were his own and the stuff shot in Andertons... everyone has improved with better equipment and techniques, and I'm sure you're no different. Has Lee Anderton ever said anything to you? He always seemed the more decent of the two to me.
One day Rabea will come out and tell the story of his casting couch horror with Chapman. If people can't see judge Chapman properly, how will they ever decide anything about aliens..
The interesting thing here, is that if people watch the entirety of the exposè video on Mr Chapman, it brings up very compelling points about the misuse of public fundraisers and the things that may or may not have happened around those fundraisers, about timing of events after fundraisers, about SEEMINGLY egotistical business decisions that may or may not have impacted the trajectory of a business of a "close personal friend" of Mr Chapman's and a fair few other points that did seem to further play to the video's point of exposing some unflattering truths. Now, as you said Levi, those claims cannot be verified, those claims cannot be substantiated and unfortunately, now will most likely stay just as that.......unproven claims. And if Mr Chapman hadn't have "responded" it might have stayed that way. However, he did. And in doing so, he may have made a mistake. Because it seems to me that he didnt actually address the issues raised very clearly. It seems that he was just trying to cover himself, to protect himself from comebacks as some of the points that have been raised will mostly been seen as being in poor taste, without actually offering very much in the way of logical explanation. It seemed very much to me, in my opinion to be damage control. A fact thar, going by the comments I saw when the video was posted, seems to have gone unnoticed by his fans. To me, it brought to light further evidence of Mr Chapman's ego taking over his logical reasoning and may just be more damaging than shielding. And its a shame. His public persona seems to be pulling further and further away from the real person. I was a fan of his. I enjoyed his early work. I even wanted to show my support of his and his work with Andertons by purchasing a guitar by Chapman guitars from Andertons. But once I had spoken to someone at that shop about that brand, I decided against it. And so began my falling out of love with the persona of Mr Chapman. In my opinion, Mr Chapman has fallen from grace, made some poor decisions and let his ego get the better of him. And its a shame. Mr Chapman was onto a good thing too. Good luck to him. But I will no longer follow his work. He has lost a subscriber in me and I have lost my faith in him.
I was a fan of Chapman on RU-vid for years and bought several Chapman guitars, but when the man threatens to sue people he disagrees with and now cries about how he HAD to abandon his family on Christmas to make an urgent response video to some kid's Content Cop parody about him, he comes across as pathetic.
@@inevitableveganfuture3915 He does. And now it transpires that in the response video, Mr Chapman still wasnt very forthcoming about the truth. And when Joe Leech of Riff city guitars poated a comment calling Chapman out in it, the post got deleted........ Underhanded......very sneaky and a complete control freak. Yea business deals go bad. But when those deals go bad because of actions taken by one party that effects the other, when they are supposed to be friends......thats not just business, thats personal. And that is a shitty thing to do. And thats just one part of all this mess.........
There is a point getting missed here which is that orphanages do not actually exist in the UK. If someone is claiming to donate to orphanages, my questions is which orphanages and where.
@@LeviClay Also, the term Statutory rape, doesn't exist in UK law. My wife is a lawyer and confirms this. It is an American term. In the UK it would be called Under Age Sex. As a concept, lawyers understand both but neither term travels. Therefore my guess is that the person who made that allegation probably doesn't own a passport and is about as far away from a legal degree as I am from playing accurate Clapton riffs (hint : I've been playing for a year.)
It would be amazing if we had some form of technology that would allow you 2 to speak directly. Unfortunately all we have is putting all issues in a well produced RU-vid vid. 🙄
I haven't watched Chapman in years, but I still remember how he was anti-Gibson until he started doing videos at Anderton's, then he all of a sudden changed his mind about marketing $5,000 collector Gibsons.
@@dohoeijmans2432 indeed it is! Kelan must believe that the support he's now getting from viewers of Become the Knight, Levi Clay, and Døvydas is worth the threats he's been getting from Chapman fanboys.
I think that anyone offended by this Chapman guy should just be the bigger man and ignore and forget him. If someone ,anyone acts like that life has a way of putting people in their place.
As a guitar consumer I tend to watch Anderton’s vids with and without Chapman because they are super informative and well produced. The guys are always having fun and they can be funny as well as informative. Chapman is seriously one of the best at doing demos and his blindfolded stuff shows how crazy good his ears are. I didn’t even know he had his own channel and I was surprised it has more subscribers than Andertons. As a guy that loves music and guitar all these channels with the drama misses the entire point of why someone like me even watches a 20 min vid on RU-vid. This content of calling each other out is so lame I can’t get through it. Just some feedback
I’ve never liked Chapman. Always seen through the nice guy facade. He’s very astute at manipulating people with much more talent than himself, both in music and in business. The guy is just a disingenuous shill who knows how to take advantage of weak minded people.
