@optimlife The numbers represent directional inputs and the letters are the attack buttons, A being the light attack, B is medium attack (or whatever people call it), C is heave attack, and D is the drive. Look at your number pad. 5 is the middle of the joystick. The numbers always refer to when you are facing right, so 6 is forward and 4 is backward 8 is up and 2 is down.
Good vid...covers most bread and butter stuff, players are free to combine different elements from different combos in ur vid. Really helpful, keep up the good work :)
as someone who just bought the game, this is a really great starting point beyond like one of two combos i know (b,c,d, DC b) which does pretty good damage suprisingly, but now i can work those air combos in there which i had no idea on how to do before. I guess i just didnt realize the launchers.
hey, does anyone have any tips on how to connect the 6a after the 5b? this video and kaqn make it look easy, but i can't get the timing down? do i have to dash in or something or if the combo has a gauntlet hades in it, do i have to delay the last hit?
@ToxicTeapot If your talking about the input for Inferno Divider then its forward-down-down/forward. If you are serious about BB then don't use the analog stick. To be honest don't even use the D-pad get yourself a fight stick, but if you use a pad then use the d pad. Start with the right side of your thumb on forward then roll it to down then while your thumb is in the same position press down and forward together. This is a crucial input for a lot of characters.
Doesn't combo 9 require a jump cancel cancel after 6C to allow the astral to combo? Ragna's astral isn't special cancelable until Continuum Shift. So...what's the most efficient way to do this?
@hydraflux if you understand his specials and the cancel system it isn't really WTF anymore though. You do a gatling into 5D dash cancel (that is just what ragna does after 5D) and then you do 6A ariel launcher into his standard jc jd jump cancel jc jd and finish with a special. If you understand the individual pieces it isn't difficult practice: 5B > 5C > 5D > Dash > 6A Practice his standard 6A > Jump Combo Practice finishing the jump combo with inferno divider
I'm so glad I switched from Nu and Jin to Ragna. his badass pummeling combos are so much more satisfying than filling the screen with lolhax and ice roflcopters.
This man is right, all videos are labeld in the top right under more info saying I did'nt make this. Only reason I pout it up is because I know for most people it's alot easier to watch this off a PC than the disc while training.
@TherathxRikku hey sir do the combos shown here still work with the updated continuum shift?? im pretty new to the game and u seemed to be pretty knowledgeable. Thanks
@TaurusType Well on combo 5 when the opponent is falling there is no problem since he can't recover after the second hit of the gauntlet hades so all you have to do is delay the second hit and you have more time to recover from the second hit animation and do the next part of the combo.
Combo 4 forgets to mention that you need to super jump (2 then 9, or down and then up and forward) for the aerial C D to work. Possibly more than one combo since someone else mentioned aerial rolling being a problem. My training dummy kept doing the same thing until I realized I had to super jump, then the combo became easy.
@killerxzero Yeah, like you said, I'm pretty good with Ragna, and I understand the technicalities of the game pretty well. The thing is that, while 6C is special cancelable on hit, Ragna's astral is the only "special" that can't be special canceled into. So, you need to do a jump cancel off the 6C, and then IMMEDIATELY cancel the jump animation (during the first frame, hence "jump cancel cancel") into the astral. I can't manage it without using the non-legit "easy special" analog trick.
if you mean after you knock them up with A, then the alternative woud be to do a quick super jump. or jut as soon as the D comes out press -> -> as fast aspossile
@ShadeKazin you dont have to jump. once you do 6D, just press D once the land hits since you'll be in midair already. Don't know if you get what im trying to say xD
make sure you arent waiting for the animation of the attack, just start to dash after you input the buttons, that was my problem with Jin's air combos. I was just waiting for the actual animation which gave me almost 0 time to continue, if thats not the prob. just practice and im sure you'll be able to land it after some tries.
@ZeromusX llol i just got blazblue and my first opponent online was a ll 40 tager lost against him but he was really terrible i have the replay too ill upload it also why cant i use the shorts online? like right stick up for inferno divider cuz i cant do the follow up punches of inferno divider lol cuz i suck
@ShadeKazin Delay j.D slightly and dash before the 5b to offset any pushback, or 3C might whiff. You should also try to dash just as you land, alot of ragna's longer combos (cue gauntlet hades) requires very precise timing... Practice makes perfect!
@omegadeltazero2 You can't grab escape it and its unblockable. There's quite a charge up so be very careful when using it as a single 3A from anyone can interrupt it and put you in a tight spot. However sometimes it is absolutely called for. I've played against a few Rachel's who had 3 lightning rods in one place and 50 heat. Fortunately they were standing right behind the lightning rods and i was able to dash towards them, use DbD's invincibility frames to pass the lightning, and get her.
Dosn't he normally give some kind of speech like; "I will show you there is no evil, there is only darkness." And then ends by shouting something about the power of darkness?
@mitzanu2007 All of these combos are legit, they can't be escaped unless you burst. The combo counter darkens if the combo wasn't guaranteed ("Black Beat"). In CS the combo counter instead turns blue and actually tells you which hit in the combo you could recover before. The combos where Jin is crouching probably requires that as getting hit while crouching adds a little bit of hitstun and damage.
Basically i am learning to play Blazblue thanks to these channel combo examples, and I realized most of this combos are incomplete or non-optimized for damage. Just don't give up.
@narcass It's fine it's just I've gotten answers to it over the course of history now after I've long since stated that I got it down somewhere back in the 100's of comments. It's kind of like a, "About that..."
@ShadeKazin I realise, but CS still isnt released in the EU, and since your post was one of the first many will see, I was hoping anyone who still had trouble with it would see my post and have their questions answered. It wasnt really for you, so much as everyone else p:
yo bro did you get the limited edition version of this game becuase if you did this is on the bonus disk -_- this guy didnt make this the vid is from the bonus disk
@cloudstrife1256 If you want to learn some pressure, you gotta learn how to reset attacks into other attacks, for example I use 5b>2b then quick dash then again 5b>2b maybe do a 6B after it depends how the enemy reads you, you just have to look what to do sometimes throw in a 6D and jabs or try to throw them if they block alot
Another nice combo that this video doesn't show is B>C>D>D>Gauntlet Hades>Spin Kick. It does a good amount of damage, and the best part is that you can move right into Carnage Scissors after the Spin Kick if you've got 50% Heat.
Well, finally figured it out. You have to input 21412369 after the 6C. It doesn't even have to be immediate, since if you do it immediately after 6C hits, it will whiff. However, the C after 9 does have to be immediate, or you will jump. It's kind of the reverse of TK. You're jump canceling the 6C, but immediately canceling the jump into the astral. Funny how I figure it out the morning before CS comes out making the technique completely obsolete. Well, now I can brag, huh?
@RsmvRemix Cool......You will understand even more if you defeat the game with all characters and arcade mode aswell.Ohhh and don't forget to buy the sequel of Calamity Trigger,Continuum Shift :)
@cloudstrife1256 My favorite mixups are 5B>2B>6B. In CT, Ragna's combos from overheads are very powerful, so learn to combo after the 6B into 6C. Try to be unpredictable in your mixup. 2D Rapid into Gauntlet Hades is effective. Closing in is tough, but take advantage of Ragna's range on 5B and 5C. Also, airdash j.B is good for crossup, just don't be too predictable with air approaches. Check out dustloop.com. It's a great resource for Blazblue and Guilty Gear info.
@YumekuiDreameater I have long since mastered that combo and play continuum shift now... e.e and I've told several before you the same thing... does anyone ever read the other comments or just the top most... why is mine the top most rated? What the hell is that why people keep telling me the same thing I 'already' know now?
Funny that after the 2nd combo, all the air combos in the rest of the video are missing a C, and must say, Ragna's damage drops a lot when the moves are in the combos =.=||| especially his flashy lengthy air combo (9CD9CD623D236C214C) has a very pathetic damage output OTL... oh well, I will just luv this character for his flashiness LOL
I've got the game for a few days now, and I have to admit, it's easier then it looks, but in combo nr 2 i changed (D, => =>, => + A to just => + D) It's much easier this way.
I do not want to demean anyone, but the problem of these combos is that in a fight with both ia and even more against a real opponent, the opponent is not going to sit still for the whole barrage of punches, I'm no expert, but I can see when my adversary prepares a special technique and this applies to any fighting game
The hit stop from the starter (mostly 5B or his kick) lets you hit confirm into every combo. A good player will hit you with 15-30% no meter combos every time they get a hit in every fighting game. A better player will mix you up and reset you into a better combo with meter.
