@Eric Stoverink How did you miss the joke that hard? Jesus Christ. Like seriously, are you okay? Genuinely? That makes no sense to any normal functioning human being at all.
Funny how in the italian dub of some movies (such as Leon and The Fifth Element), the villains played by Gary Oldman were dubbed by Tonino Accolla (RIP, 2013), who was the italian dubber of Homer.
Nonsense cars in the drive way was a running gag during those seasons. Like Flanders getting a way in a row-boat then the next shot is the row-boat in the drive-way
i find “angry dad” blowing up the smokestacks and then his own head blowing up after getting fired with the same sound effect and everything genuinely funny
From what I can find, she had a much a very public relationship with Dudley Moore in the 80s, was 1969's Miss California and has married twice. But I think it's likely to be a random name pick for the joke.
PalladiumCupcakes it’s funny how relevance works. I’m guessing this was made around the turn of the century when the internet was still relatively new and tv was everything. Now it’s the other way around. The internet is the main hub for news and entertainment and tv companies are going out of business.
There was a dotcom bubble burst though, so I think they were commenting more on that. Then again, I think most people around the turn of the century did not quite anticipate how much the internet would take over.
This is some good stuff, both the jokes and the commentary. And you know what the key is? It's the show keeping up with the times and being topical. _That_ was one of the big things that made older Simpsons seasons work so well, *not* absolutely everything staying the same (including some existing modernizations at the time being reverted) save for token efforts at modernizing that are mostly veiled middle fingers to the idea of changing. Which is how Al Jean runs the show.
For me personally, I feel the show was still overall fantastic up until shortly after the movie. Sure, it may not have been as amazing as the original couple of seasons, but it was still hysterically funny and wholesome. I think the true decline of the Simpsons began with the episodes "The Greatest Story Ever D'ohed" and "The Good, the Sad and the Drugly." I however think the worst episode of all time is "That 90s show" because it tried to retcon 2 entire decades of content and that is when the show suddenly became fine with rewriting things like Marge and Homer's first meeting. As of now the show is imo completely unwatchable, we live in an era now where people are such pussies that things that 30 years ago or even 10 years ago would have been considered funny are now offensive. We live in an era where the Simpsons have taken Apu off of the show. A beloved character, who had always been an important family friend to the Simpsons family. Because apparently Apu is a "racist stereotype." I don't see anyone bitching about Willie, Smithers, Selma or Chief Wiggum being negative stereotypes. If Apu hadn't been brown, he'd still be on the show. Literally just spitting facts.
dapperfan44 He’s talking about within context of the show itself. How did Bart get enough audio from Homer without him noticing to be able to make an animation?
@@cyclops8238 Homer has never been the most observant person in the world, I wouldn't be surprised of Bart got half the audio from making Homer read the script.
Ben Simpson I have but it’s been awhile so I don’t remember much. I’m currently streaming series on Disney+ so I’ll probably reach the episode eventually
Homer: What kind of monster would humiliate me? (Homer watches a cartoon version of Bart spray paints a logo of Angry Dad) Bart: This has been a Bartoon Presentation. In association with Ay Carumba Entertainment. (Angry Dad roars in anger) Homer: Why that little..... (roars in anger and leaves the Power Plant.)
Of all the things Bart has ever done to make Homer angry, this is one of the times he really pushed it. I mean, look at him. Homer was so mad, he was actually going to kill the boy
