That first combo is dope, instead of riptide however I swapped it for Argus plunge amplify. imo if u start ur combo with 2 offense bars and have Argus plunge in ur variation do this instead, it does more damage and looks wayyy cooler

I seen a couple people saying the 242 won’t work your u gotta be super quick one thing that could help is if your pressing the 242 individually and your in controller simply press the 2 slide your thumb to the 4 and back to 2 it saves time hope this helps a little

If the 242 in the first combo is hard to pull off it can be replaced by down 2. Edit: another combo is deadly tsunami into geyser kick amplified into geyser palm amplified into down 2. 242, FB4, DB1, D2. It is 2 meters for 27% so not extremely useful but it’s rain lmao

It is better to go into: 242 fb4 amp 242 1+3. If you need a fast pull off when punishing go for: 4 bf4 amp 242 1+3

Definitely helps broaden my horizon on newer combos to do, as I only know one combo with geyser palm and water ball that does 320%. Would love to see more content of rain, as he is definitely my fav character in mk right now. Thanks for the guide tho!!! P.S. Take ur time, as I understand the stress college can put on people, and I only take two course on high school for a program, which is demanding enough.

It’s a dial in combo, you have to press all three buttons extremely quickly, it gets easier with practice and getting muscle memory of the move

@@callum4real329 when you get that move down after some practice, I recommend 242, geyser kick amplified, 242. And then you can cancel that last bit into Argus plunge or just do the throw at the end. I find it to be easier because you don’t have to dash after geyser kick and it makes the window to perform the combo larger and it still does decent damage

Hey dude. Love your videos especially the one with Scorpion. helped out a lot. Question about Rain's 242. Everytime I try to execute the combo i end up spamming the 2. Is it a hit confirm combo, or what something. I inpute it slowly, or at a stead pace but it only comes out about 25% of the time. Help!

Not a hit confirm but rather a dial in combo. You have to press all the buttons first usually in rapid succession for it come out. Going slow or at a steady pace won't work. Basically press the buttons quickly and it should come out.

found something messing around in training mode, instead of ending with bf1 (geyser palm) just continue the 242 string (deadly tsunami) into the 3+4 ender (turning it into insatiable prince) its 257.80 dmg and i find it easier to pull off edit: you can replace the last string in the combo with f2 3+4 delay 4 and your opponent will end up on the same side they started on for 253.88 dmg

You can also do the 242 string then the quantum slice for 264.08 damage. A bit finicky but works like 80% of the time

Ugh why did his 242 string have to be a dial in? I absolutely hate dial ins because i have press it insanely fast and most of the time I don’t have the luxury to do this when I’m being pressured by my opponents. There’s gotta be some easy way to fix this without messing up my fingers just for this one combo.

Are youse guys her Palm with water ball and honestly that's probably about it. To me that's probably the most variety like build for rain because you can get the guys or Palm off and obviously you want water ball but now there's different ways to get water ball from any of his combos in any of the chain reactions from guys are Palm which really makes me like him so much more.

242 is a dial in string meaning you have to input it all in one sequence. Kinda quick. You can watch my controller on the video to see what I mean. And notice the visuals queues on the character when it was done. You can’t press 24 and then 2 to come out. The moment you press the first button which is 2 of the 242. You should be done already. Dial in is all one quick motion.

This first combo is not optimal, I don't understand why you use Riptide. After you do Geyser Palm,amp,Dash you can go for many different routes leading to more damage, also Katar toss(Back Foward 2) do the same amount of damage without using an ability slot. 1: Rising Spike (Down 2) - 253.70 // 2: Prince of Rain(Foward 2 throw 3) - 253.88(no dash needed in this case) // 3: Shalow Break, Geyser Kick(4,Back Foward 4) - 255,16 // 4: Let's Get Krazy,Katar Toss(133, Back Foward 2) - 257,41 // 5: Insatiable Prince (242 throw) - 257.80 // 6: Deadly Tsunami, Argus Plunge(242, Back Foward 3) - 257.80 // 7: Let's Get Krazy,Argus Plunge(133, Back Foward 3) - 263,70 // 8: Deadly Tsunami,Geyser Kick (242, Back Forward 4) - 270.27 // The Geyser Kick options also leads to the possibility of doing a bigger combo if spending another Offensive Meter. On the second combo, why not finish it with another Hydro Boost instead of Argus Plunge? The damage goes up to 323.75 // You could also do Let's Get Krazy, Argus Plunge(133, Back Foward 3) after Katar Kutter,Dash for 314.07 damage. On the Third combo, why not finish it with Geyser Kick instead of Argus Plunge? The damage goes up to 318.75 // You can also finish with Insatiable Prince (242 throw) for the same 310.37 // If you go Let's Get Krazy, Argus Plunge(133, Back Foward 3) after Rising Spike you deal 314.30 For those discouraged by the tight timming of the third combo you can do Deadly Tsunami,Water Ball,AMP, Jump,Katar Kutter,Prince of Rain(242,Back Foward 2,AMP,Jump,2,Foward 2 throw 3) for 275.29 damage OR Deadly Tsunami,Water Ball,AMP, Jump,Katar Kutter,Deadly Tsunami,Geyser Kick(242,Back Foward 2,AMP,Jump,2,DASH,242,Back Foward 4) for 289.30 damage. There is a fourth BnB that only requires Geyser Kick to work.You do Deadly Tsunami,Geyser Kick,amp,Power Blast,Let's Get Krazy, Argus Plunge (242, Back Forward 4,AMP,Back 1,133,Back Foward 3). It deals 274.73 damage // Alternatively you can do Deadly Tsunami,Geyser Kick,AMP,Power Blast,Deadly Tsunami,Geyser Kick(242, Back Forward 4,AMP,Back 1,242, Back Forward 4,) for 280.35 damage. No one says this was optimal first of all. This is a BNB and a starting combo. There can be many iterations for this depending the strategy and purpose. Also this is was Day 1 combos meaning that at the time of the recording, many things were not figured out about his playstyle. This is combos and combos with a property combo ender. Things can be swapped depending on the purpose but that is all included on my longer videos. Just here to give the basics. Ps thanks for the tips, might consider some of them

I am, but I found doing just bread and butter combos very easy and quickly to edit them. Only takes couple of hours that I do have compared to the days when it’s a complete guide. But I do really appreciate your willingness to be patient. Make me very happy!

That is because its not the controller. Combos that start with 2 is most likely a dial in input. Meaning you have to press it fast so all of it come out.

Idk if I can press it faster I’ve tried everything to get the input to time right it in practice mode. 1,2,1,2 works but 2,1,2 won’t. It’s like this with every character. I can do combos well so I don’t think it’s my timing. I’m not saying your wrong though.

You mean 242? Yes that particular string is a dial in meaning you have to input it quickly to see the animation happen. I would recommend taking a look at my controller on screen and character visual queue
