Rain and She Said She Said are the biggest Beatles gems in the entire world. Many people don't truly appreciate everything that goes into those songs. Rain is easily one of the most innovative tracks every created. Listening to it, it sounds shockingly modern with how much is going on.

Strawberry Fields is another just incredible example of Ringos drumming skills, I'd love to hear you do that one

The full cover is going to be fantastic, I can just feel it. Having listened to the song carefully for so many years now, even trying to replicate the guitar work since I was a teenager (a long time ago!), I can't wait to watch Michael play it.

The drumming is great but to me the star is the bass.

You nailed this! I did a little cover of this song a while back and used the isolated drum track and you got all those fills down pat! Interestingly it seems like the Ringo's drums slow down a significant amount by the end, so cool though! Gives it a real nice ebb and flow.

Michael! It's so Great to see you doing what you do Best. Ringo would be Proud!! Once again, the first time I heard this song, I heard it on my little black Philco transistor radio. Only AM!. It blew me away and have Loved this song because of Ringo's drumming and John's song. I don't know if this is true or not, I heard or read somewhere a long time ago that Ringo's drums were miked and that this was the first recording of miked up drums. Welcome back - fabulous playing as always - I hope your doglet enjoyed hearing Rain coming to life! What you say about the supposedly "original speed" track on the Revolver boxset being too fast rings true, but do you have a theory for precisely how it was that Giles & Co. got it wrong and what the actual intent and exact sequence of events was? It *seems* like it should be: 1. They wanted a huge deep sound for the guitar, bass and drum, so they recorded it faster so that when it was slowed to the desired final tempo it would be a lower, big, fatter sound, right? 2. Then they either recorded the vocals normally with the final desired speed. Does everyone hear it that way? That the drums and guitar sound bigger and lower and the vocals sound normal? But there always seems to be some fly in the ointment when you try to piece it all together. If you were indeed wagering on this, what would be your theory for *exactly* how the whole thing went down? And also your theory for what they put on the boxset and where they got confused. They have 5 tracks - the final remixed tracks in stereo and mono (both in G starting at about 113 bpm) - the one they call "actual speed" (in Bb, starting about 136 bpm) - the one they call "analog down to A" (in A, starting at about 128 bpm) - and the one they call "tk 5 slowed for master tape" (G but flat, starting at about 112 bpm). It's beyond maddening!! And the liner notes to the boxset just add to the confusion.
