I used that one too. The smearing only happens once you apply it. After that, the rain just removes it. Recommended to clean your windshield after driving and use either the original windshield rain or the weaker one 2in1 which lasts for over 1-2 months. The price is great but there are other alternatives that last 6 months like Aquapel or something. I just use. Rainx on my other car and Aquapel on the other one.
Yes I found the smearing wasn't as bad after using it for a little while. I used it for more than 12 months and would definitely do so again once I get a car I'm going to keep for a decent period of time.
Tested one here in Norway. I haven't used it no more because it clogged my jets. Got a new product last night. Use sparkling water to clean the lines in the tank. Great video mate

Hey, Ben! Good to see you again. Maybe it didn't last long because it was diluted. I have been a bit worried about using this product on my BMW, one reason is the smearing issue. Also, newer BMWs seem to be fussy. I think its do to with the sensor that measures the water level. Some types of products coat the sensor with a funny film, which makes the car think the fluid is low, even thou it is full, which is a pain on a car with a rear wiper like mine. When my car thinks its low on fluid, it stops the rear wiper from working.
Hi Matt, good to hear from you. Yes it's possible although I wouldn't want to use it undiluted. Would be an expensive product at £7-8 a litre. I've not had that trouble but then mine is an 11 year old BMW. I'd recommend the Rain X 2 in 1 glass cleaner + rain repellent if you are after some windscreen protection. Also, I didn't realise the rear wiper stopped working if the fluid is low. There's my intake of knowledge for the day. Haha.

@@mattsbeamer I managed to get about 3 weeks of protection out of it but if you give your screen a clean every 3 weeks it will always be protected. I'm on Instagram but I only post 1 or 2 times a month. I found it hard to gain followers on there so focused more on RU-vid.
I use Rain.x but not the screenwash additive. Following dilution instructions you would use it neat for -20 degrees therefore just 1 litre. None of the recommended dilutions were 1 in 4, so if you use it weaker than the manufactures say, you can't really expect it to work properly. At the same time, I buy a 5 litre bottle of Rain.x ready mixed screenwash for the same price as 1 litre of concentrate, and it is marked as -20 degrees. Works fine with no smearing at all on my windscreen, but I did use their cleaner/repellant first.
I'm not sure what your point is here but I list all the dilution ratios printed on the product within the first 45 seconds of the video. Obviously it's up to the user to decide which is suitable for their climate. I went for 1 in 4 as 90% of the time it is warmer than 0 degrees C where I live. For the other 10% it's up to me to adjust it accordingly. I have also tried the pre mixed additive and do prefer it. It's quicker than measuring out 4 equal parts of water and if I fill the screen wash as soon as the warning light comes on 5 litres fills it to the brim.
@@Papa77sGarage I didn't explain it very well, did I? If they say to use it neat, to get -20 degrees, then it's 1 litre only. If the 5 litre bottle of ready mixed I buy says it is good to -20 degrees, it theoretically must be the same or similar strength to the concentrate you used, but it actually cost slightly less. So why bother diluting it and get less cold weather coverage while paying more for the privelege.
@@rtamck now you are making sense, I agree however they only had the concentrate in store at the time I did this video. 12 months or so later when I went back for more the ready mixed one was there so I grabbed it. Probably noticing the same thing you did.
I was thinking about doing an update on this because I've been using it since I uploaded this video. It seems like the more you use it the more effective it is.
