I agree with your comment on "overlanding" allowing people to camp who otherwise might not be able. I spent 30 years in the coal industry. After two spinal fusions I am not able to walk more than about 10 minutes or so. Camping out of my 4runner has allowed me to get out in the woods. I am in the process of building out a 6x10 cargo trailer. Hopefully I can take some longer trips, may even make it down to your neck of the woods. I'm in Kentucky.

Lake Talquin is slam full of fish and gators. Once a year they have a big crappie tournament there. We've camped and fished there but never at highbluff campground. It looks like a decent little campground.

I love tornados, since I like to chase them in Colorado. I did “enjoy” a tornado while I was at an airshow in Lakeland several years ago. Spent an hour doing entrapment rescues and otherwise cleaning up the mess. Good times for a former Fire and Rescue Firefighter, but would have preferred relaxing with a cocktail at Margaritaville. Glad that you decided to stay off the water.

I think my first comment didnt post. Anyway, I camp there every year for the 1st black powder hunt in January. From mid December to end of January, that place is slap full of hunters and it gets pretty crazy sometimes. If the gate was open, just up the road, you coulda rode around in there its pretty cool to drive and hike. I have never seen that camp that dead😅. They used to have water but pump kept gettin stolen. Anyway, thanks for shareing another adventure with us.

Hey buddy how's you doing man? You definitely have a relaxing camping trip. When it rains like that all you can do is take your shoes & socks off & be barefooted 👣 with your feet 🦶 picked up & relax while it rains. I know that not you wanted to do but it is what it is Especially? When is lightning outside. I am surprised that you didn't take your flip-flops 🩴with you so you didn't have to keep putting on & taking off your shoes man. Maybe you can keep a pair of flip flops 🩴 in your jeep that stay in there at all times. I do that in my Truck 🚛. I am glad that you didn't have to Deal with tornadoes in the storm. Hey Mack, thanks for watching! I planned to just be barefoot but there was a bunch of really little pebbles that was hurting my feet. I do need to get some flip flops to keep in my Jeep. That's a good idea! Thanks buddy
