I'm playing a similar list, but much more concentrated around Dreadhorde Arcanist ; with a dip in Unearth and Skelemental to be a bit more pro-active and aggressive.

I love Kroxa to an unreasonable extent. Seriously fiance is getting jealous of the connection I have with that card. I need help but Kroxa is just so sweet!

My modern deck is somewhat similar but instead of waste not and caress mine uses skelemental and unearth with LotV. Love to see discard strategies - tough to pull off, but satisfying when it does 👍

Game 2 Round 2 before you quit the game, you have lands 1x Blood Crypt, 1x Geier Reach Sanitarium, and 1x Graven Cairns. You should have tapped Blood Crypt for Red or Black, pay 1 Black or Red for Graven Cairns, then produce Black and Red. Play Liliana's Caress for Black and tap Geier Reach Sanitarium for colorless. then you still have Red mana left to play Burning Inquiry...
Match 1 You should have expected something like runeflare trap when you saw the wheel they had. 26:55 Couldn't you play the enchantment + burning though?
Having played a Caress/Inquiry deck shell for years, I can tell you that you NEED to keep some # of sweepers in the main (my list runs 3 Anger 2 Damnation). My list is more focused on Caress, and I can tell you one card you don't have in the list that has been an absolute All-Star for me: Reverberate. Copying an Inquiry, or countering a counter in a pinch, makes it one of the best MV2 spells for this shell (though I still wouldn't run more than 1-2). Raven's Crime and Collective Defiance are also cards I've tried out and they've never been worth the slots. That would free up room for more K.Commands and the aforementioned sweepers.
Honestly with the Lurrus ban I would lean harder into Caress. Get some Ensnaring Bridges in there to help against aggro. I would also consider underworld dreams. With that on the field with Caress, burning inquiry becomes a 1 mana 9 damage burn spell.
I feel like one Necrogen Spellbomb might be a consideration? Being able to lock people out of non-instants with Lurrus once they're empty-handed seems viable, and worst case scenario it still cycles or triggers random discard payoffs.
Seth mentions how discard can't deal with lands. Would blood moon be worth considering in the sideboard? It cuts off geier reach sanitarium but I think it handles a lot of strategies that would be problematic
Sweet deck and games! But why not just keep the Lightning Bolt to kill the Blinkmoth Nexus? I know Bolt the Bird and all, but that Hierarch wouldn't have been that much of a problem right?
The first oppoent deck was a bit strange, it had so many pieces of an actual deck that jeff hoogland came up with, or at least fist time i saw it was with him playing it. he even took that deck into a SGC tournament cosplaying a owl cuz of an artifact "Ebony Owl Netsuke" that goes on the deck. That deck is actually the reverse of seth's deck, it punishes people by drawing too much and having the hand full. At least that is what i was thinking the deck was, but then ancestral, lava spike, goblin guide, delver on that list and i was like what the heck is this? lol
I have to laugh at the words on his red-shirt in the beginning of the video as I understand those words. It says "Where is the guy with the big beard?".
My only upgrade would be surgical extraction main board, as it combos with all the discards to allow you to remove problematic cards fr the opponents deck as early as t1.
I have a similar deck but with blue for compelling deterrence and wistfull thinking. The mana is clanky but i won a friday night with it( 1 out of 3 tries). There were some more differences but it was pretty much the same.
I'm sure someone else has already pointed this out but SETH!!! How do you NOT know how mana works!? Graven Cairns adds BR to your pool, float the red and cast your Liliana's Caress, you botched two turns in a row!
I was interested in how well this would work with the Prismari Command. Giving a player two cards to discard with one of its modes. Doesn't give them a net loss but at least works if they are empty handed.
37:24 You could have played Underworld Breach instead of Lurrus to be able to escape Lightning Bolt from the graveyard in response to a pump spell on Inkmoth, right? This way the opponent needs two pump spells to actually win
.....Im kinda disappointed.... I was half expecting this to be a more time relevant version of B/R Waste Not Storm...but running Lurris as a Companion really destroys the amount of Wheel effects and removes the possibility of Past in Flames....
7:48 It's weird to call a card bad when it did 6 damage for one mana. All he has to do is remand a spell then any card draw spell an opponent plays like mishra's bauble that everyone plays, and literally everyone plays card draw, and the card's trap condition is met. There is no point to play mtg and not try new cards, if you cant try stuff in magic where will you try stuff.
