@@peterknighton2757 Judge Judy is in it mostly for spectacle ive seen her multiple times disregard the law and even refuses to take certified witness statements she refuses to even read them because other people wouldnt put their lives on hold to be at her show testifying and it angers me every time she abuses the fact that she can disregard the law and rule on her opinion alone.

You can always see the reason people should never be a landlord anywhere in the Northeast US. The tenants are always looking to sue the Landlord and not pay rent. You can see from the "on the Street" people answers...it's always the landlord.. that is the reason why there is a housing shortage. We sold all our properties. the judges always rule in favor of the tenant and the landlord is helpless. NY, NJ, CT, MA, RI, DE, VT, ME, NH, PA, DC, CA, WA, OR, CO, - stay away from being a landlord anywhere near these states.

But does rental insurance cover things outside of the rental unit?

rental insurance pays even goods in a storage unit, at least mine did.

I chose the highest available insurance coverage bc I have 2400 sqft of memories, authentic antiques & gorgeous jewelry.

This is happening thousands of times a day.. and in NY, the tenants always win. We had a relative living in our 2 family home in NYC, we lived there with them for 25 years. the rent was never raised.. still $250 a month. same unit next door, $1,900. We wanted to sell and gave the relative 1 YEAR to find a new place. They refused to leave. 3 YEARS in court to get them out. NYC judge kept giving them another 3 months to move. Then the Judge blamed us for creating the problem by never raising the rent..So that the tenant budgeted $250 a month, and now WE CREATED the problem.. BTW: the relative/ tenant didn't pay rent for the entire 3 years. That's what liberal Judges have done to America. The entire housing system in about to collapse - since it is Imposible to be a Landlord anywhere in the Northeast US or west coast.

You clearly weren't listening. The judge said that the plaintiff had no proof of what she was saying about the previous fires. Even the plaintiff admitted she had ZERO proof.

But the landlord did admit that tenant became a problem for him later on and cost him money the judge didn’t ask why he ended up costing him money though

There was absolutely no proof that anyone had said any such thing to her about a tenant starting multiple fires. No proof that she said anything to the landlord about that. Hearsay isnt evidence, just because she said it doesnt make it true. Evidence.

A landlord is NEVER responsible for the criminal actions of another tenant. If I kick my neighbors door and beat them with a bat... My landlord doesn't have to pay them for my actions.

The defendant is not at fault. He may be the property owner but he didn’t cause the fire. Another tenant caused the fire .

Yes- but she’d have to sue the tenant who actually started the fire, not the defendant.

If USAA finds any fault with the landlords they will go after them for repayment.
