My '05 had two receiver holes. My '18 only had one hole which pushed the hitch way out. I noticed my '18 cracked on the outer welds after towing the same trailer that I towed with my '05 for over 10 yrs. Plus the hitch looked like it was bending downward. I also noticed my receiver tube where the pin went through was smashing the actual hole causing it to egg shape. I don't know what they are thinking. Seems they care more about keeping you from towing things. I'll be drilling my hitch out to get it to slide in more. I checked with several hitch companies and for whatever reason all of their holes on the hitch are placed too far in away from the ball, which causes the ball to be out so far it greatly increases tongue weight and angle. It works if you're pulling a kids bicycle but not for the working man.

Hitch & bumper have a slight angle downward on mine even with out trailer attached. Wouldnt notice it unless seen what it looked like before di a bunch of towing. I could loosen the 6 bolts & tilt it back up I think or replace the bent bolts to re-align angle. But as soon as I hook the trailer up again it will go back to the same slight angled position. Front bumper kinda same way. Loosen bolts to re-align it. If a guy ran into snow bank or something. Seen alot of trucks with front bumpers that need to be re-aligned. The factory gooseneck mount thats built in ready to go is a different story though. Very heavy duty mount. I guess Ram expects guy to use a goose neck for when towing heavey.

Idk, i have a 20 hemi 2500. I've had at least 2500 pounds of tongue weight on mine and never noticed anything. Maybe they are different hitches?

Dude, theres a sticker on the door the tells you how much it can tow...why would Dodge build a truck rated to pull XXX pounds, and use a hitch that cant handle it, the logic here is seriously flawed 😂. Who tf looks at the sticker on a hitch receiver, thats probably the most useless metric on the entire truck, you go off of the weights THE MANUFACTURER ALREADY GAVE YOU.

Well if you have a 1 ton & it has a factory class 3 hitch. A guy coul easily overload the hitch & have a failure on the road. Info like tongue load is important info, so you can safely load the trailer. That info is not on the door & I could not find that info from the ram site. Merely knowing what the truck can tow is not enough info to tow a trailer safely. Tongue load & maximum trailer weight should always be indicated on a hitch. As it always has been. Especially with lighter duty hitches.
