I got tired of seeing so many people using Launch Control incorrectly so I thought I'd give a tutorial with some tips and tricks. #launchmode #ram #ramtrx
This dude launches!!! This is one of the best and most informative videos I've ever watched on RU-vid! Thanks for sharing, brother! I definitely launched mine incorrectly many times because I had it set over 3000RPM. I incorrectly assumed like my C8 and McLaren both would go at about 3,500 rpms. I figured 3,000rpms was safe for the truck lol.
Excellent presentation. I’ve had three hellcats before ultimately deciding upon my 2021 Trx. Very good information on the launch and the software considerations.🤔
Great info. I made all of those mistakes. Couldn’t understand why the truck kept leaping forward on me. My rpm was at 3000. Truck in auto mode. Couldn’t understand why it would bog at launch. I feel like a dork but I’m thankful for your video and looking forward to launching this thing properly.
Been testing out launch control mode now that mine is broken in. If you are in baja mode the "level ground" detection isnt as sensitive due to being able to use launch control in the dirt.
I've only had my TRX for a week and a half, but after the 500 mile break-in was done, I used launch control a few times. It was working correctly as you showed in the video (thanks for doing that). One time, the center screen between the gauges went into a drag racing tree animation. Have you seen that in your truck? And if so, did that make any difference in your launch times? I'm running at 7,000 plus feet in altitude, so that is not helping my cause. 😉
Awesome video! Just got mine and got 3.8 0-60 on a flat road and that was without launch control because I don’t have 500 miles yet. Curious what your elevation is? I’m at about 4800-5000 ft of elevation.
How are you getting 10.4 mpg with 37’s?! I have 37’s ridge grapplers on mine and seeing 7.7mpg. What kind of tire pressure are you running on your 37’s? I’m at 38psi cold and feels like it’s a bit soft
@@mikehancho5286 Will give it a shot. I actually bumped the tire pressure to about 45 front 42 rear and I’m getting about 8.5 mpg now. The ride is a bit rougher on sharp impacts but the handling feels a lot better
They're available from catchmeoffroad.com along with lots of other TRX decals! Send an email with the Contact tab and you'll be able to request all available designs.
No, there is software that prevents any damage by over-rev. You will hit a rev limiter before it spins too fast...just don't hold it there for a long time 😁
When you put the truck in Sport does it automatically shut off traction control? I was reading in a forum and it was saying thats not the case and that you have to shut it off manually. I launched for the first time today and felt like there was some hesitation or like it may have bogged down. I was in Sport mode, but didnt think to hit the traction control button. Thanks
Yes sport mode removes most of the traction control, and will really only intervene if the truck gets sideways. Even better is Baja mode, where TC is almost all the way off. Baja mode + manually holding the TC button is as close as we can get to full TC off, other than pulling the fuse. Hope this helps...
Not to mention it's horrible for your brakes to power through them without Launch Control.. you'll warp your disks over time, I have a 2024 Final Edition and it holds just fine at 3.4K but I prefer a 2.3K Launch, just wanted say inconvenience isn't the only reason to NOT power brake an AWD truck...
I’ve been beating on my trx without being at 500 miles yet should I be worried? I know I should let it break in before gassing it everywhere but I haven’t been and I’m a bit worried
Break-in is intended for the whole powertrain system, not just the engine. Axles, differentials, driveshafts, transmission, bearings, etc all should be broken in properly to avoid failure down the line. If you can baby it for the first 500 miles that's best...
I think when the raptor r comes out it will out perform the trx, only thing about the trx that out perform the raptor is the engine, to be honest 450 hp is plenty of horsepower, but the trx is nice I like both trucks
Supercharged v8s dont need launch control/stall they have low down power. Launch control is more for turbochargers to make boost before launching. You will find it wont make a diff in 0-100 on a supercharged v8
