Ive had this exact knife for 22 years now. It was a must buy for me, i wanted the damn thing since I was about 8 years old lol. Its not well balanced at all, due to the hollow handle that holds the survival kit. I took the kit out and added solid lead on the inside. Its freaking sweet now. I keep it sharp and actually use the knife at any opportunity. Oh, I need to open this mail... Rambo knife time! After all these years, the compass still works perfectly. Its a damn fine compass. If you love Rambo, this is the knife you want for sure
@@tyleringle268 Like I said, the handle has very little weight to it, due to it being hollow. So the weight distribution is uneven and top heavy. But if you take out the plastic kit and add lead it feels very good and heavy
I sold my 89 United Cutlery First Blood Part II after i aquired a genuine LILE (the real thing) but now in 2024 after i seen a guy on a knife forum using it in the wood (splitting wood) i say : "Damn...have to get one back in the knives collection , since it was the MOST SOUGHT AFTER knife in the 80's. I had the HARDEST time to search/seek the good old United Cutlery version (better made than the Mastercultery/Hollywood Collectible group ones...) but i FINALLY found one in awesome shape in Japan. can't wait to receive it and stab it in my wood display at home. such an ICONIC design. in my opinion its THE movie time of all time even before ANY other Rambo movies / Predator (1987) etc etc.
Gorgeous looking knife. I just ordered one that looks identical to yours. Already own a First Blood knife that is a United Cutlery. As an 80's kid these knives were totally iconic to me. Great video, Sir!
These HGC Rambo knives are a threaded construction into a stainless steel handle. Theses are much tougher than the United Cutlery versions which use aluminium handles. Whilst I would not recommend battoning with ANY knife, you probably could with one of these HGC Rambo knives. The UC are just epoxy into, where these are threaded and probably pinned.
they are not pinned. you can drop liquid steel epoxy on the bottom of the United Cutlery because it have a section going out (toward the buttcap) that can be secured , wich is NOT the case on the MasterCutlery/HGC ones.
Just finished making a movie accurate sheath with eze lap steel for mine and did the same for my First Blood knife also but with the Arkansas stone as per movie.

My knive makes a vibration noise with the handle. When holding the knife. I thought it just had a weight inside it. Because it feels good when holding and shaking it. But it has me wondering if it's suppose to be like that. Like if the metal that keeps it together between the handle and the blade. Lose or if it made bad that cause it to be making that sound. Does your handle vibrates when u move it.

This is the best Rambo 2 knife available thats under $1000. The only thing I'd like to see on it is the cutting edge and saw back more polished and also the butt cap should be black like the original.
@@kevs2 thats what I did , looks much better. Also put a black leather cord on the butt cap. Ive got a cheaper Rambo 2 knife too that im thinking about carefully polishing the edges and if I do and it goes well I might do my hollywoodcollectibles knife.
Hi I got The Rambo 1 and 2 from Wiseman trading and supply.com From Canada iam from Ireland had no issues but had to pay customs I think for the 1 and 2 together is was €80 in charges extra on what I payed in dollars for the knifes hope that helps,there are a few places in Europe that sell them have a look at lamnia.com
👍👍I ordered Rambo 3 from them no taxes or customs but there based in France so in the Eu for me no extra,but think you will have to pay charges now in uk,import charge don't think would be that much maybe £30-40 extra 👍hope this helps

Hey man. If I were to WANT to take this camping and use it for real camping stuff. Could I take the blade off from the bolt, and then put rezin on the bolt, then reassemble. Do you think that would be enough to make this knife for real camping purposes?
