In the novel Rambo notices how Ericson has tattoos typical for mercenaries (he had encountered quite a few before) and also sees that the pupils of his eyes are dilated speaking of years of dope abuse. From this Rambo concludes that Ericson is the kind of guy to stab a person in the back in the darkness if you carelessly turn your back towards him.
It's also why Rambo confided in Col. Trautman about the biggest lie: about leading a Marine unit in a certain place in 1966, thinking he wouldn't catch the fact that they were elsewhere in-country, leading Rambo to tell Trautman, "... you're the only one I trust."
@@raygman899your right when Rambo told Trautman what Murdock told him about being with 2nd Battalion 3rd Marines at Kon Tum in 66’ Rambo states that 2nd Battalion were at Kud Sank then telling Trautman that he was only that trusted.
The Jeans too I mean as he gets out of jail and comes straight to Thailand..then he probably only gets to have the dress which he had when he was arrested
"Of Indian and German descent....that's a hell of a combination". "Screenplay by Sylvester Stallone and James Cameron"....that's a hell of a combination.
For me it's a reference to the first movie. The sheriff doesn't let Rambo have something to eat while the Major doesn't share a drink, both roles played by the same actor. ;)
My favorite soundtrack is definitely the one of Rambo 2. The music is so captivating it just makes you have some really good feelings in your heart. At least this is how I feel, I can’t really explain, but the music is very captivating for real and I love it so much ❤
@@larisamarkoliAgreed! Total 80's nostalgia. In fact I began my fitness journey way back in 1985 inspired by Stallone in his prime with Rambo II and Rocky IV released in the same year 💪🏻
@@danleonhart1 Even though I wasn’t born in the 80s, I totally agree with you and I’m glad that we agree with each other about 80s music. Whoa, I’m glad to hear that! I’m sure you achieved a good physique. Sly is such an inspiration in many aspects of life 🥰
what a time to be alive back then.. you gotta love the action movies that came out like first blood, rambo first blood part 2, terminator and terminator 2, die hard, platoon, full metal jacket, hamburger hill, top gun, commando and predator are just some of the action movies that are of top notch quality.. the 90's are also good but the 80's are the best when it comes to action movies..
I remember as a kid when that slow music with that Buddha statue came on screen …. My heart would raise …. And I was in RAMBO mode … and wouldn’t blink until the end of the movie
You shouldn't of been allowed to watch such movies as a kid. No wonder you're leaving comments on clips of the very same movie on the you tubes. I'm very disappointed in you. Surely you can do better than this. It's detention for you I'm afraid.
kina virus released to fk up the elections...millions dead, billion+ with heart issues...evil know no bounds...Godless people will always create hell !!!
115k views in one day!! Jesus this film still holds weight! I use to watch this movie like everyday in tv. I now watch highlights on RU-vid lmao 🤣 This will always be a classic to me💯
I think Rambo's superiors knew that he wouldn't be content to just take pictures, and it was a psychological ploy to get him there and then let him take over. Kind of like how in Aliens they took Sigourney Weaver's character back to LV-426 as a kind of observer or helper, but it's already in her records according to her own testimony that she knew how to kick Alien butt!
@@sbswtnchoice No..they took him there in a carefully planned failure (suicide) mission so they could give Congress and the American people another snow job and for once and all close the book on living POWs in Vietnam. It was a money thing, and another LIE.
Actually that’s not what they were thinking, they didn’t want Rambo to bring anyone back because that would mean they wouldn’t be able to sweep the issue under the rug. In the event he came back with pictures showing POWs they would be able to destroy them behind closed doors. Basically Murdock was hoping either A) Rambo would return with nothing, or B) Rambo would die during the mission. That way he could say with a straight face he tried to find the POWs.
"Hey, Rambo...Long time...Listen, I got a new mission for ya...There's a guy named Daniel Larusso who's been harassing old nam vets like myself and Terry Silver...We need a crazy sob, like you, to...take him out. You in?" - Kreese
Always Thought John Matrix Was in This Universe...Since He Eats Green Berets For Breakfast...Since John Kreese is Here Let's Have Stallone, And Arnold Show Up in Cobra Kai... That'll Be Freakin Epic 👍👍👍👍
I wish Rambo had to engage with Delta Force in the extraction operation, but the script went in a different direction, at least later on Rambo met some SAS soldiers in epic battle
the giveaway should have been when murdoch asked FOR SOMETHING COLD The guy at the coke machine got a can of coke Kreese got a can of coke and so did murdoch Rambo was not offered anything cold Trautman was not offered anything cold Little things like this tell you the personality of a person
“John Rambo’s birthday” was a final question one time during tv/movie based trivia night. They only needed the month and day, of course seeing this movie almost weekly as a kid on tv I knew the whole thing.
Certain Native American tribes actually did have special permission to have long hair because of treaties and religion. Not sure if Rambo’s was one of them, but it was a thing.
Actually were multiple bad guys that Rambo went against but Murdock was in white shirt and tie was one of antagonists in a high ranking position and hired Rambo to fulfill a mission. If you haven’t seen the movie you have to see in its entirety but Erickson next to Rambo in the picture for the clip was one of Murdocks men. Rambo also took two large enemy soldier groups consisting of the Russians led by Colonel Padovsky played by Steven Berkoff who played numerous villains in the 1980s and the Vietnamese Army.
They'll know what to expect. The photos will show how heavily fortified the place is, how many soldiers there are, where the prisoners are, what artillery they have, how to sabotage that or use it to their advantage
You can see straight from the beginning that Stallone has a different body than in First blood. It's a weightlifter body, stiff as hell, backed push backward almost crushed, you can immediately tell he's been bench lifting and that's not a functional athletic look, it's all facade useless for the army or any field special operation. That's not how a real field trained green beret body would look like.
There has likely been a Rambo or twenty maybe thirty in real life. But, the government is terrified of them. Real men do what men need to do, then the government sanitizes the mission, pays the tributes, and moves on with the lastest and greatest. In real life this must suck for these kind of men. Of course Rambo was just a movie, but this Bullsh#t really did happen. It's possible but unlikely that even still there may be a POW that is praying for an ending.
To OP. Stop living in Hollywood reality. Ask any REAL Vietnam War vets what they think of Rambo. Those I've seen interviews of almost all say they were conned into a war because their government lied to them and they were also seriously p*ssed some of them got drafted while the sons of the rich could buy themselves a "desk service" or skip going to Vietnam altogether. "Real men do what men need to do" What do you know of such matters? Have you served? Have you any kind of education or qualifications? What's your job anyway? Can you find two countries on a world map or name two international organizations? What about your locally elected politicians? No? Then what do *you* know about what people should do or not? Stick to games and superhero films. "But, the government is terrified of them" Right. How old are you anyway? 14? You're an infantile cretin.
This is a good scene i think they might have copied it from the opening of escape from New York snake plisking. Getting a mission proposal from warden. I believe from the year 1981
