I first went to Asia the summer of 2019 for a series of concerts (there are a few of those videos still on this channel, from concerts in Shanghai and Taichung), and I was absolutely blown away by the warm welcome the audiences gave. Sadly, following this success, while I was supposed to return the next summer, 2020 happened, and of course, the tour was cancelled, postponed, and postponed again. Until I came back summer 2023! Finally!
Anyways, so many new arrangements had been created since then, so I'm happy to share a few of the concert videos (here, from the Taipei National Concert Hall).
When we first started working together, Frin and I immediately wanted to arrange some Rameau together - both vocal and instrumental music. He had written an arrangement of the opera air Lieux Funestes ( • Duo Kiasma / Rameau : ... ) that we've been revising and improving together up until octobre 2023 (more than three years of work!), and I proposed to arrange Rameau's Tendres Plaintes. Originally for solo harpischord, the french composer had himself re-arranged the piece for string trio, as an interlude in his opera Zoroastre - inspiring us even more in the way we could approach our own arrangement of the piece. Anyways, here it is.
