Rammstein - Engel Live - Old Guy Reaction 

She's spot on. The line-up of the band has never changed in over 25 years, each band member has their own persona and their own fan base. I saw them three weeks ago - I'm still trying to get over it, it was just phenomenal. They start their North America tour in the next few weeks. If you can, go. Just go.

What can I say... 5 days ago I've seen them live and I will sums this up in a two words: more Rammstein!!!! :D

That's being said, Till is a lovely and almost shy guy. And he's a poet by heart, the lyrics are deep if you understand German. How he's picturing himself is like playing a character on stage he really isn't. I always wonder why Rammstein has so many English and other language speaking fans all over the world. Ok the beat, the Rammstein footprint, is very recognizable and gets you if you're a metal/rock fan. So, thanks from my German Rammstein loving heart for your lovely enthusiasm! 🥰

Rammstein = fire (literally!) On their live shows, they set everything on fire, themselves, the stage, a whole f***g stadium... Rammstein are one of the founders of Industrial Metal, which means metal music mixed with synth elements. "Du hast" was one of their breakthrough hits in the 90s, not only in Germany but also international and it even was number 1 in the US, which is pretty rare for a non-english song. "Engel" is probably their best known song, at least here in Germany. Flake (the guy on the keyboards) often walks on a treadmill during the live shows and on some shows, they pulled up Till (singer) in the air on strings with his angel wings. If you want to see more live, have a look at "Ich tuh dir weh" (MSG), "Mein Teil" (live at Hurricane Festival), "Feuer Frei" (Live in Moscow) and "Rammstein" (live in St. Petersburg). Hi, great reaction! Your joy was so natural, it was nice to see you having fun! I liked how you found out that it's not only about frontman or special effects - but it is a show where everyone has important role and exactly knows what to do! Just look how the guitarists stood still like gargoyles, until they got unleashed at 2:25 - love that part. Or how just before the end everyone else left the stage, so people would focus solely on the frontman... As for the fans - they are norma people, but they are always so hyped out after waiting years for the concert that their excitation amost makes them explode from the inside 😃 Weeks before the concert most of them listen to Rammstein 24/7, check the setlist, learn where and how to answer (not always trivial!) and this makes those events so overwhelming - no matter what country this is, huge crowd is singing in German along with the band. I hope you'll get the tickets to one of the shows in August in US, please try to gather Feuerzone tickets or standing places! Seats - as everyone says - are for those who will seat comfortably and watch how the people in the crowd are having fun 😉 I can recommend you two songs: - Rammlied - song, that opened this concert, you will understand how the people got hyped. It has now completely different style, and you will be surprised how well this works now. Of course I still miss these wings - but now it brings some unforgettable experience. I strongly recommend you this video, shot on the concert from last Saturday in Warsaw, Poland - I've been there and it was amazing. It was 1997 when "Du Hast" was released, I was 4 years old and it blew my mind as a kid when I saw the video on MTV. I have been a huge fan ever since and Rammstein have never disappointed since that day. They're one of my all time favorite bands and definitely the greatest band you will ever since live. I am finally going to my first Rammstein concert here in NJ on September 6th and I seriously can't wait. I wished my Dad was still alive because I would of taken him with me since he was a huge fan as well, although I know he will be there in spirit along side me. I will be taking my 64 year old rockstar Mom along side me to enjoy this experience, plus she is a metalhead herself and loves Rammstein. I really love watching your excitement while listengin to Rammstein's music. Your journey started with "Ich will", Rammsteen, the band from Russia and now you're telling people that it's Rammstein, not Rammsteen. I can recommend the "Rammstein in America" documentary. its on amazon and its about exactly this concert and why they werent allowed to perform in america for years adn a lot of american rockstars also get interviewed. The leadsinger is actually an almost shy and very humble guy you can see that in interviews. He has a terrible stage fright so he slips into another persona on stage and into the performance alter ego to cope with it :D Rammstein - Interview USA Revolver TV, 20.4.2011 - at this 2 minute interview on youtube you can see that he is anxious talking with the mic and being among so many people and he wears sunglasses always in those situations. There are also not very many interviews out there because of that reason.

On this tour they have done a beautiful pared back piano rendition of Engel, on the B Stage, and projected the lyrics onto the screens by the stage, and being in a crowd of 30k+, 50k people, ALL singing along to this together with the band is absolutely phenomenal (and after, they get into inflatable boats and crowd surf back to the main stage. I shit you not. They are f-ing AWESOME!!! Legends!!)

Great song get reaction thankyou. I love this band i went to a gig here in the uk it was amazing. Few days after the concert it was reported to be the loudest uk gig this year it was heard 11 miles away. It was loud it was more than i could ever image. They played this song but now its played by 2 fanstatic woman on Piano and the whole band sing on a small stage in the middle of the crowd. Brilliant.

They are technically "industrial metal", the combination of metal and sync with emphasis on a hard beat. Check out Till's solo project, "Golden Shower", "Praise Abort" ..... A couple of things: Engel is Angel... probably the most important line in the song: Gott weiß ich will kein Engel sein (God knows I don’t want to be an angel) Till's posture is partly due to the wings/pyro rig being very very heavy. If you want to see them in a "movie" try the video for Ohne Dich, it's virtually a short movie.

The Band is named after the German city "Rammstein, the place of the biggest US Airforce base out of the US. And also the place of one of the biggest (I believe the biggest) tragedy of an air-show with a lot of burned people (and the end of all air-shows in Germany. The song is about angels and how boring is their being. So he (the singer Till Lindemann) don't wanna be an angel.

You don't care what the words are? The lyrics are very important. They go very deep and are written in layers and wordplays. Till, the singer, is the son of a famous East German writer, and he got the talent of his father for sure.( at that time germany, and Europe also were separated in east and west by a wall) Till has also published some poetbooks of his own. By the way, how old are you, old guy? I become 60 this year and I'm still rocking and Rammstein is a part of it 😈😜🙃

I love your comments. I feel the same way. This performance is like an epic tale about a kind of sad war angel (i understand a tiny bit german and he says something like he doesn’t want to be an angel, he is afraid and alone…i think). It’s powerful. They are coming to Paris in july and i’m gonna try to buy some tickets because i want to feel all that in the stadium even if metal is not my favorite king of music. If you are curious, i discovered them some weeks ago by a friend who offers me a movie of a concert in Paris filmed by Jonas Akerlund. It’s incredible, sometimes a little bit disturbing for me but powerful. You can see one bit of that documentary on you tube with the video Du hast in Paris. Awesome and yes, the keyboard player is on a treadmill 😂😂

the genre they play is called industrial metal, metal mixed with electronic music. within germany specifically rammstein falls into 'neue deutsche härte' which means 'new german hardness' although i liked bands like aerosmith, guns n roses and even the golden earring when i was younger, i was more drawn to electronical music by the late 80s / early 90s. from the synths of jean michelle jarre to the drum machines of hiphop & breakdance music like the rock steady crew... and then in '97 or so someone put on a rammstein album for me to fall asleep to when crashing at their house drunk and i was sold immediately. finally got to see them live last year and managed to get tickets for the fire zone right up front of the podium and it's the best concert i've ever been to, breaking michael jacksons record for most awesome show i've ever seen. everything is fine tuned and even the stage itself is a work of art and integral to the show. this year they'll be here again and i'm going to try to get tickets for the feuerzone again. i don't care they're 30 or 40 euros more expensive... it is more than worth it.

The ironic thing about Till (the lead singer) is that he's actually quite shy and nice in real life, from what I hear. Being "scary" is just part of his stage persona.
