Everyone always ask is he (Flake) really on a treadmill. lol it never gets old. hardly anyone gives Flake credit for his amazing work with the keyboard, the sound he adds to every song is just the icing on the cake.
And first comment in comment section always says, that people are coming here to watch somebody asking "Is he on treadmill?" This cycle is a perpetual motion machine.
Flake the keyboarder has tesla rings, so it is happening live but there is also post production for the video to make it more intense. And yes you are right. The song is about marriage and a play on words. "Du hast" = "you have" and "Du hasst" = "you hate". Sounds the same in German ;D
Video CANNOT capture how dope they are live. Was at the LA 9-24-22 show with my bestie and her German husband. Greatest night of my 43 years. Greatest experience of my life
You made me feel so old when she said I know the words because my dad listened to this 😂..nice reaction very enjoyable. But damn the 90s doesn't seem that far away, cherish time cause it goes way too fast. On the flip it's bad ass when a band like Ramstein still gets recognition to this day
Till Lindemann's daily routine 1. Waking up 2. Singing exercises in the shower 3. Make coffee with the flamethrower 4. Fitness training with the Till Hammer 5. Research newspapers, news reports, Playboy, the Internet, friends and family, cookbooks and other reputable sources... Then create new sick and unbelievable stories 6. Call the rest of the band and order suitable music 7. Produce song 8. Goodnight fireworks and candlelight dinner 9. Go to sleep Repeat🤣
@@bb6297 there was a time , not too long ago, where there was a great deal of ill will (justifiable on all sides)... I am terrible enough to enjoy the irony of the French people singing in German, while delighted by the fact that old hate is slipping into the past.
Hehe, the treadmill is always the first thing newcomers to live versions of Rammstein notice, especially when they start off with "Du hast". It was Flake's idea. They themselves said that they came together with the idea of doing hard, industrial, somewhat repetetive music. Especially the keyboard parts are very simple, so Flake is basically not really playing the keyboards but holding a few keys nearly all the time. Even when he actively plays the keyboard his parts are still relatively simple (as stated by himself, not me). So he gets bored during the concerts, and asked if they could get him something to do, like walking on the treadmill, or some of the more goofy acts on stage. The lyrics: yepp, a lot of them are really messed up. But in German lots of them play on words, using either homophones (words sounding exactly the same, but with slightly different spellings, and totally different meanings), grammar, placement, capital or minuscule writing, etc. Especially in this song this occurs quite a lot. Majuscule/minuscule letters change the meaning again in many words in German, such as the difference between the verb 'scheiden' / to split apart/separate, or the noun 'die Scheide'/ vagina. Homophones: "Du hast" in phonetics is identical to "du hasst". The first means "You have", the second "you hate". In German the exact meaning only gets clear once you know the whole sentence (subject predicate object at least). So "Du hast mich" does mean "You have me", but "Du hasst mich" = "You hate me" Phoenetically identical, only difference in spelling. But spelling is impossible to tell in speach, so context is required. Only once it continues to "Du hast mich gefragt" it becomes clear that it means "You have asked me", or transcribed to English but with German grammar positioning "You have me asked". Yeah, I know, the grammar doesn't work but that is the positioning in the German sentence, and only the word "asked" clarifies the meaning of the whole sentence. So the staggered approach to the final meaning only works in German, as Till repeats each part of the sentence multiple times, leaving the meaning open until the end. So in essence this was THE question for marriage like in "You have asked me (to marry you)" When he answers "Und ich hab nichts gesagt!" / "And I didn't say anything!" The lyrics for the chorus were inspired by the typical German wedding vows asked by priests in church. "Willst du, bis der Tod Euch scheide, treue sein für alle Tage?" "Will you, till death do you part, be faithful for all days?" (Answered by several very emphatic "NEIN!" / "NO!" by the rest of the band.) But Till switches this in a later chorus to "Willst du, bis zum Tod der Scheide, sie lieben auch in schlechten Tagen?" which translates to "Will you, to the death of the vagina, love her even on bad days?" The German term for a woman's period is "Ihre Tage haben" = "to have her days". So this might be even more multi-layered than simply talking about a vagina, but also about some very strange sexual practices during a woman's really bad period. Just to give you a hint what you are missing when you don't know what they are singing about.
Thanks a lot for this comment. When he finish to sing "Willst du, bis der Tod Euch scheide, treue sein für alle Tage?" we ear female voices saying "Ya" (Yes) and the male voice reply "Nein" (No). So I understand that the girl is ready to be faithful until death to him but not him. But maybe I'm wrong.
I saw them here in New Zealand at a outdoor music festival called “The Big Day Out” 2011! I remember it was raining that day, I was soaked, then went to their set, I was bone dry by the second song!!! 😂😉👌
Greetings from Finland, the most metal country in the world with more than 700 metal bands per 1M inhabitants & to put this in perspective, the U.S. has less than fifty. Pyrotechnics in this performance are spectacular, so even if one doesn't like the song, this is well worth watching. P.S. The lyrics of this song are so simple that it takes almost no effort to learn them by heart.
@@PalleRasmussen Cool & I like Danes reciprocally, if that's the right word. P.S. You'd better look out should Donald Trump try to buy Greenland should he be re-elected.
@@tarmotyyri6733 let us not open that barrel of fish. If the world goes the way I anticipate, Greenland will be abandoned as more civilised lands struggle for their own survival- just like in the 14th/15th century.
Rammstein's members are Vocialist: Till Lindemann Lead Guitarist: Richard Z. Kruspe Rhythm Guitarist: Paul Landers Bassist: Oliver "Ollie" Riedel Drums: Christoph "Doom" Schneider Keyboardist: Christian "Flake" Lorenz (Pronounced Flak-ah)
Saw them live in 2011 ive been to alot of concerts but seeing these guys it was that pinch myself I must be dreaming kind of moment the show they put on is hard to describe unless your there just amazing
What's rarely mentioned in reactions to this video: The concert was in Paris, France (they speak French over there *) and the crowd sang the refrain in German perfectly and loud enough to understand each word. That is dedication in the fan base and not only happened and happens in France but other countries as well.!
Nice t-shirt Mat! 👊 Chels, your face is gorgeous! Shouting out from Boston, MA, anxiously awaiting for Rammstein to come here after covid burns out! 💥💣🔱🎸
Its is real!! Its is a tesla coil. You can see this on other live performance vids. Also if you attend a gig. Same effects they use for lightning at carnivals and such. The guy above is correct. You have been miss informed
I'm a bit late to the party, but I saw them when they did their NA tour in 2011. I've been to a lot of shows before and since, but their stage performance is second to none. They are apparently doing another NA tour in 2021 (assuming things are half ass back to normal). If you guys get the chance, this is a show you can not miss.
I saw Rammstein several times live since 1996. The shows are awesome with the pyrotechnics, the lyrics are sometimes profound or pick up on topics that nobody wants to talk about (Mein Teil - cannibalism). Rammstein provoke, polarize, but they are unique. You should see them live - you won't regret. And the music videos are epic, like movies - especially "Deutschland". Please react to "Ich will" - live from Hurricane Festival 2016 (that's crowd control / english subtitles available) and to "Ich tu Dir weh" - live from Madison Square Garden and to "Rammstein" - live from Moscow 2019
It´s a wordplay in German. "hast" means to have or to hate. And it changes two times. Du hast (you have), Du hasst mich (you hate me), Du hast mich gefragt (you have asked me)
The play on marriage is the part where he sings "willst du bis zum Tod der Scheide, sie lieben auch an schlechten Tagen?". It's "Will you, until death does part you, love her even on bad days" but he sings "bis zum Tod der Scheide" instead of " bis der Tod euch scheidet" so it becomes "will you, until the death of the vagina". Also the female quire sings "Jaaaa" in the background which is "yaaa" (yes) and he shouts "nein!".
If you like pyrotechnics, watch "Rammstein - Rammstein / Live in Moscow, Luzhniki Stadium / 29.07.2019". The video quality is subpar but the pyrotechnics are crazy.
Funny that you are rocking a CKY shirt, because I remember it like it was yesterday that "Du Hast" was the title theme song for CKY2K. Man that have been some good ol' times. : )
I believe that the tour that they were on when they filmed in Paris was their last tour. No 100% on that but I heard they were calling it quits after they're last studio album back in 2018/19.......since it was 10 years in the making after leib ist fur alle da in 2009. I was lucky to see rammstein a few times since 1990s. They never disappoint.
i have seen more than 100 reactions to this video now. And as sure as you can be that you hear an Amen in a church, you can be as sure to hear 'is he on a treadmill' at the beginning of this video.
You You have You got me You You have You got me You You have You got me You You have You got me You You have You got me You got me You asked me You asked me You asked me and I did not say anything Do you want until death do us part Be faithful for all days No No Do you want until death do us part Be faithful for all days No No
The song is really provocative, because „Du hast mich“ (engl. You have me) sounds in german similar like „Du hasst mich“ (engl. You hate me). There so many good performances from Rammstein here, please take a look here. 😊🤘🏼 I saw really often live and its so cool and powerful. 😍
This year has really made me appreciate all the amazing shows I've seen in my lifetime. 1. Rammstein (twice) will never be dethroned. First time especially mind was blown during this performance. "Is...is Till going to shoot us?...what the...*whistling grows louder*...oh my...*BOOM* Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu..." 2nd time felt like a repeat of my favourite gig ever...which was my 2nd best gig as nothing beats first time. Artist at number 2 is Slipknot. I was there at the back for Download 2009 (that spit it out live video) Oddly though I enjoyed 2nd time more due to being front stalls for whole show...Paul was gone and didn't know if I'd see again thinking it may be a send off for the band. Think seen 3rd time since too. They are incredible and would be first...if not for Rammstein being Rammstein. 3rd is where it starts to get difficult. AC/DC? KISS? Rob zombie? as shows but I've seen dream gigs I never thought possible like Marky Ramone (Ramones are my #1 favourite band of all time) TWICE...once fronted by Michael Graves of 90s misfits...and then like plucked from my mind to dream book...Andrew WK. Andrew WK...and Marky Ramone...playing Ramones songs in a smaller venue. Teenage me can die happy. Close to real thing I'd ever get. Then my 2nd favourite band of all time Primus (who growing up were also not together) reformed with drummer from sausage demo days and played Brixton. Sold out obviously. Could only get a standing ticket. Tried getting in to the floor with thumb over section but no go. Begged with security head and he walked me down, told the guy at door I was cool, opened the door with "enjoy the show buddy!" and Danny Elfmans Big top Pee wee theme started as I walked into the crowd still floating on a cloud in disbelief...it was...beautiful. Seen them now 4 or 5 times, all but first is with Tim Alexander again (2 days in a row playing 2 different sets a night on one tour) and Claypool solo twice. Oh wow I've really written an essay. I did say it gets more difficult picking a 3rd. Should've just done by spectacle and said 1.Rammstein 2. Slipknot 3. AC/DC or KISS or Rob Zombie...Iron Maiden and Metallica put on epic shows too. 3rd is even difficult just by spectacle ffs. I told you...but 1 and 2 are easy.
Watch all their live videos, for one you won't have the problem with them getting blocked that you will with their official music videos, and two, you will get to see that no one puts on a better show than them (also you will get lots of views trust me). They were meant to be touring the US this year, which has now been proponed till next year, you can buy tickets now I believe - it will probably be your last chance to see them there.
great reaction...would love to see you two react to Jinjer Sit Stay Rollover (one of their hardest songs) live in Melbourne...video dropped in last 48hrs
You should watch ‚Mein Teil - Hurricane 2013‘ and ‚Rammstein - Rammstein‘ or ‚Sonne’ from the Tour last year ;) I love kiss and I‘ve seen them live as well. But Rammstein is so advanced in this regard. In many cases the fire ‚tells a story‘ as many performances are a kind of theatrical display of the song. It’s insanely good. Funny thing: Kiss is one of the favourite bands of Richard Kruspe who is one of the guitarists of Rammstein. So you see where they got their inspirration ;)
I got some news Rammstein is back in the studio working on a new record Soo you know what that means it comes with a tour follow I'm ready too see them
Du - you Du hast - you has / you hate(Du hasst), you have Du hast mich - you has me... /you hate me (Du hasst mich) /you have me Du hast mich gefragt - you asked me Something like that
Once I fond out what the song Mutter meant I spot lessening to that song (Mutter) and because of them I started to take German . Look up (my heart ❤️ burns 🔥 & lust,Angle,
Willst du treu sein bis Gott euch scheidet? = Do you want to be faithful until God do part? The briest's question to the bridal couple. Rammstein says "yes / no" = I don't know.
Hey Guys, Tom here from Germany 🇩🇪🤘🏻!! I love it how you Americans react to our german Bands, that's awesome ♥️😆! You need to react to "Was ich liebe, live (official Video) and Rammlied live at MSG NY. Greetings from Germany
"Ich will",!live at the Hurricane Festival is so awesome. The Audience answer Till back, that's so good!!! "Mutter"(official Video) and "Ohne dich(official Video) are also great songs. It's enough for a while 😅! Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪!!!
You need to know that this concert whas in Paris and there they speak France that's logical . but France and german are 2 languages that are not sounds the same in any way not by far. But the france audience shouting the German word's if they own it . haha. Next year i'am going to see Rammstein for my 3th time live. 👍🎸🎵❤
Hey guys I'm new to the channel but I'm loving your reactions! I would love if you guys could react to any of my favorite band "Bloodywood"s original songs, preferably "Jee Veerey". They're an indiana metal band and they have some really deep and meaningful lyrics. Thanks for the great content!
Do not listen to RU-vid translation they messed up every time it's not about that if you want the real translation get from a German it's about a woman who was neglected and love with another man and it was about true love he said do you wait till they're separate you before you tell her how you feel the answer is no it's a song about cheating boyfriend
