C.J. Was a great choice. With Dee Dee still providing songs and a new energetic bass player, it really was the best possible outcome. Dee Dee's heart just wasn't in the ramones anymore and wanted to do other things.
Totally. I seen them in 95 at the Hard Rock Hotel here in Vegas. What a fuckin' show. Movie stars came into town from all over the world to see it, their final tour. Seen them once before as well I was lucky to see them twice .
@Doofer22 CJ Ward was younger and far more sober than was DeeDee and so brought a new life to the band that had become slightly stale. DeeDee never really left though. He continued to write songs for the ramones (6 on Adios Amigos) and rejoined them on stage in 1996.
nice songs! The Ramones were the best band in the world!!Cj has a great vocal, but Joey's voice was more special! R.I.P to the ramones ,Love you guys! see you in heaven...
É foda ver a galera criticando o CJ. O cara era um fã da banda, é só ler o que ele escreveu no encarte do Outta Here. Qdo o DeeDee surtou e saiu da banda, queriam que eles fizessem o que? Parassem de tocar? Preferia que o DeeDee tivesse continuado também... Maaaas...
if only they all were alive we still could see the ramones....oops! no we couldn't..they broke up because they couldn't stand each others for twenty years.
In Monte Melnick's book "On the Road with the Ramones" Tommy says he suggested that Johnny be the lead singer of a band that Tommy wanted to put together, but Johnny refused saying it wouldn't feel right. Johnny also said that as a guitarist he can effect how the band would have sounded.
Me parece a Mi o Johnny se equivoca en My back pages ? Es que es laprimera vez que escucho que se equivoquen y eso que fui a más de 7 shows en vivo de ellos. A ver que me dicen.
@DJDansound no way CJ came in and gave the band a fresh air, Joey wasnt in good shape in the end so having CJ was agreat back up and he is a great singer
Nothing wrong. No PA. That’s all. That’s how they sound when they plug and play. In a hall, the front house monitor guy, sound engineer and PA techs will make the band sound as you expect a band to sound, in concert. Here, it’s, set up, tune up, soundcheck, songs chosen, rehearsal, TIME ON. PLAY. Like it. Hate it. JUST ENJOY THIS PERFORMANCE FOR WHAT IT IS. RAMONES ON STAGE PLAYING. NO TOMMY. NO RICHIE. NO DEE DEE. BAND POLITICS. SEE IT. ENJOY IT. REMEMBER IT.
The Ramones are the best thing that ever happened to Rock'n Roll, but by this time in their career they lost it ,after Deedee left it was just terrible,Johnny fucks up big time here and c-jay does his very best as a performer but after 15 years watchin' deedee give his heart and soul he was just a hired musician to keep a worn out ,tired train rolling,Did they do it for Joey or did Joey do it for us? Joey is the only one who gave his all and all for all of us and them. Joey is the true Ramone!
They seemed not want to be there. The timing and rythym seemed off. CJ seems to be doing metal rather than punk Joey was going faster than usual and didn't look like he was liking it much
should not choose two freakin CJ-sung tunes out of 4! one, if you have too (and if so I would pick Cretin family). Those are good songs but 1/2 not-Joey is ridiculous
o CJ era um bundão poser, q nunca chegou nem no dedo mindinho do Dee Dee. Mesmo depois q o Dee Dee saiu, era ele quem escrevia a maioria das letras, pq se dependesse do CJ........ nem preciso falar
