I wouldn’t have said she deserved death. She didn’t kill fives directly even if she did throw him under the bus. Still all the suffering that she and her people endured after being used by Palpatine, she has been more than punished for what she did to him. And her sacrifice to destroy the data was a noble one.
In a way, I wouldn't say Nala Se was a strictly evil character. She actually treads the line better than most; not quite good, but also not quite evil.
Rampart was straight up too stupid to live. Dude had the opportunity to cut his loses and escape and he just blew it. Like, he really though he could blackmail his way back to the same Empire that threw him under the buss when he was 100% loyal.
Even if Rampart somehow survived the database explosion, I think Tarkin wouldn’t hesitate to kill Rampart on site if this foolish imbecile shows up in front of the Imperial Recovery Forces in order to bargain his position back!
I don't think it just was all about getting his job back. Having that blackmail was a perfect way (in his mind) to stop the Empire from actually harming him
His plan was awful to begin with. The Emperor would just take the data and snap his neck with the force for being responsible for the destruction of Tantiss.

Just Imagine if Rampart didn’t turn traitor and actually embraced his new life with The Bad Batch. Eventually Nala Se would have told him the “TRUTH” about Order 66. Imagine later down the line, Rampart alongside Omega join The Rebel Alliance with this info, to later reveal it to the public. It would have given Palpatine a headache, with the Galaxy knowing that the “Jedi Betrayal” was a Inside Job orchestrated by Palpatine himself. SHAME really. 😒
A missed opportunity but Rampart will never side with the Rebellion. He only cares about himself and is desperate for power, hoping the Emperor will pardon him for his crimes. Unfortunately, his arrogance is what killed him.
It would not matter by the the time of the rebel alliance everyone knew palpatine was full of shit but he had too big of a military so people feared going against him anyone who was going to rebel would have done it with or without that information
I was honestly hoping Rampart would make it through this series… not because I believed he could really change, but because it was so amusing to see him helping the heroes, and I’d have loved to have seen him fight the Empire out of pure bitterness and spite after Palpatine screwed him over. Still. I can’t argue that was a perfect end to his character. His voice just wreaks with entitlement and annoyance at the very end… he just can’t believe he got outsmarted.
Well I think she kinda got a good ending? Her species was dead and she took the last of its tech with her in death so being petty does work out sometimes
