Out off all the crazy shots we've seen Crosshair land, this one has to be the most impressive. He hit a pinpoint target from 20 meters away during a rainstorm with no scope after losing his shooting hand and being tortured for hours. And he was only able to do it because of Hunter's encouragement and his brotherly love for Omega. Imo this was an amazing climax for this episode.
Yes, that would have been epic pitting a Republic Commando-turned-Imperial Commando against two special clones having their own unique genetic enhancements. They would very likely be evenly matched combatants.
@@verentyee5413 is it bad that I think it would've been cooler than the fight against the CX troopers? Like what if Scorch went up with some stormtroopers against Hunter, Wrecker and Crosshair and beat them the first time, and then Hunter and Crosshair managed to either beat him or get lucky the second time.
You shouldn’t! He’s a plot device with no motive, backstory or creative elements. Hemlock appeared out of nowhere, did nothing remarkable then, died a boring death off-screen!
@@IsaiahRichards692why are you seething in these comments? First you took a jab about female characters and now this. You like to suck fun outta things with that anime profile pic, huh?
@@IsaiahRichards692 I don't think you watched the show. Might wanna go and do that before coming with baseless accusations. His motivation is the Emperor's approval and a higher position. We learn that he ruined an entire other laboratory with his experiments in his past, and then just left that planet and moved over to something else equally unethical. He has developed a toxin that he's built in a own immunity towards, that's pretty creative if you ask me. Hemlock appeared when it turned out Omega was instrumental in gettin Nala Se's co-operation, he was always there, just appeared when his goals intersected with the Bad Batch's goals. He were on the verge of figuring out how to clone force sensitive beings, which was currently believed to have been impossible, he held a clone of the Zillo beast inside of Tantiss, and he sent brainwashed conditioned clone assassins after important targets. Hemlock did more than enough remarkable things. SO much so, that had his research gone on undisturbed, Palpatine could have either gained an army of force sensitive super soldiers, or a ton of force sensitive clone bodies of himself as back-up in case he died. This could have happened maybe just a few years after the clone wars ended, rather than the 30-50 ish years it DID take. And finally, as you can even see in this very video, Hemlock gets shot several times, and then falls to his death. That is NOT an "off-screen death". There, I just rendered all your arguments invalid, now go watch the show next time.
Yeah something i liked about shows like this, Rebels from seasom 3 onwards, Andor and this one Seeing tbr characters deal with enemies that aren't sith is a treat
@@riley-dv8euHemlock was extremely interesting because he wasn’t even a military figure, but a scientist. Yet he was almost as competent as Thrawn throughout the show
I always hated hemlock because he’s overconfident, thinking he can gloat better than others . but I like how crosshair finally assassinated his nemesis.
@@thegloriouskingkronk8422 Doesn’t it bother you that after the first shot Hemlock hit only the shoulder, and the second hit the left side of the body, after which Hemlock even tried to make a dash and return the shot? And even after the third and fourth shots, he did not drop the pistol from his hands?
@@user-gp9of2le7j it looked more like he was flailing his arms about than him actually trying to take a shot tbh. Maybe the shot type was different too, something with high penetration to punch through the Commando armor and the ship's engines that's less effective on an unarmoured target if you don't hit a vital spot.
@@user-gp9of2le7j Yeah, watching it again I agree that the first few shots probably didn't do it, since those landed in the shoulders and flank, but as soon as the first shot went through his chest he was either dying or already dead, and the rest were just to quite literally send him over the edge. Also I'm not sure if people, like, always drop what they're holding when they get shot and killed, I think that might just be done for dramatic effect in films and stuff
If I see correctly, in real life, soldiers usually take position around the perimeter to look out for the enemy if they are trying to shoot it down during the helicopter extraction, but here, Scorch do not do that by watching their back.
Darn … I wish we got to see Project Necromancer completed. Also, it sucks that Hemlock died. He was one of the few competent villains in the SW universe. Like Admiral Thrawn, I like how he led with intelligence and didnt behave like a child. He was successful in capturing his targets, took the threat the bad batch posed seriously, and was a good strategist despite being a scientist (not a military leader).
Kinda ironic even because in Legends Tantiss was actually destroyed in 9 ABy, literally the same time period as The Mandoverse Here, it was destroyed and the project was taken down in only 18 BBy So is this implying that the reason they were still working on it around the time of the mandolorian was because The Bad Batch had essencially taken down the only doctor at the time to.do it
Plus i feel like the point of this was to show why it wasn't completed until after tbe events of The Mandolorian Just saying cause they basically suceeded after Sidious perished
I like it when Hunter and crosshair defeated their arch nemesis together without wrecker and echo supporting them like this is their fight and their rescue.
Say in your opinion, if you were to write Rampart's fate different and say he was sent to a planet somewhere else Where would you place him, Tatooine or Serenno
It’s not from order 66, as we see in the AMAZING Republic commando novels, after losing Sev Scorch looses the lighthearted joking personality and becomes pretty harsh. “You’ll never replace him” “you’re only temporary” to the person who replaced Sev.
Scorch was taken by surprise by two commandos so I'm not shocked that he bit the dust. Also, the people saying he was done dirty, yeah I feel like Boss woulda been a more appropriate choice but you can EASILY headcanon that he just lost his sense of humour come the creation of the Empire or was experimented on by Hemlock.
That or his sense of humor was removed as part of his conditioning. The empire is about order and all that, scorch isn’t going to be joking around because the empire would’ve made sure he isn’t allowed to. You don’t see empire troopers and the like with humor like that.
It's also possible he survived since we never see his body hit the ground and we all know that in fiction, not seeing a body means he can still be alive. Plus, the commando armor has built in bacta tanks for on the go healing, those shots didn't seem to hit any vital organs or even penetrate his armor too deeply. It's entirely possible he survived and could be seen elsewhere later in the universe. Like the rest of his original squad goes in to recover him and find him still alive.
@@averywho6430 I’m personally hopeful he didn’t survive. 1) SW has an alarming number of folks surviving high falls 2) it’s nice to see someone who was a dick die 3) Tech died after a long fall and we never saw his mangled and broken body - just his shattered goggles. I’d say give him and the rest of Delta Squad their own canon stories instead of reviving him.
Also, they had more motivation. Scorch was a soldier following orders. I doubt he particularly cared all that much about hemlock he would have followed the orders of any superior he was assigned to . Crosshair and hunter? They were saving their kid.
these are ex republic commandos, now Imperial Commandos. Their biggest strenght was their operational freedom. They could act as commandos. Now they can't which makes them only a little less effective than normal clones if not in perfect close quarters combat. We know this because in the battle of geonosis, the republic used many clone commandos only as normal infantry. Mace Windu leads a squad of clone commandos in normal clone armour (guess there weren't enough Katarn-classes ready) and he just used them as normal infantry. In imperial service, these commandos only act as Bodyguards in the imperial science division. Also you have to understand that the Bad Batch is meant to be superior to RC/IC, especially Hunter.
I don’t understand how everyone is so obsessed with scorch. He literally played Hemlock’s right hand in this. Do we even know that that trooper actually is scorch? I mean sheesh 😬
Even if it is Scorch, it don’t feel like Scorch. Throughout the whole show he does nothing of significance and he’s given no character. I get he was a character in Republic Commando but give me any other reason as to why I should care about this version of him dying
I can see where you're coming from, and I DO understand the poetry with Hemlock getting killed by his own creation and all that... However, it felt more deserved to have Hunter and Crosshair take him out, after all, Hemlock was THEIR enemy, he made things INCREDIBLY difficult for them and had their sister held at gunpoint. It felt right that they would take him out after long last.
In an AU Hemlock is carrying Baby Yoda, Mando, Bo Katan are holding their blasters at him Hemlock (threatens Baby Yoda): "Don't u dare" Baby Yoda uses the force to get the dark saber and Fill in the blanks
Omega: "You won't get past them!" Hemlock: "And they won't risk hurting you." *Puts his gun at Omega's head.* Omega: "Neither will you. You need my alive." Hemlock probably thinking: "Wait, she's right, what the hell am I thinking?!?"
After the second shot hemlock was dead, but the bad batch kept shooting him multiple times, I bet you most of those extra shots were for tech Also what was hemlock bringing omega to across that bridge?
Clones don't always die in one shot, I mean 99 got shot like 3 times and kept moving. Hemlock probably died after the 2nd, but they hated him, so they kept firing
I don't see why they couldn't have made a new commando to fill his role. We like Scorch because he's Scorch, this wasn't Scorch. It's a weird thing to take a well liked character, strip him of his personality, have him do nothing the entire show and then just kill him off. What does the story gain by having that commando be Scorch instead of another random commando?
