I like using the wet fly rig with plastic bubble up there, a big prince nymph and wooly bugger setup works good, weighted to slip thru the float so you can get them real deep then just slowly jig them. There are big trout in there, and it gets stocked a lot.

Cool power bait setup. Never seen someone not completely cover the hook. I take it you've had some success that way though. I'll have to give it a go and see if I can hook up easier!

I used to fish there all the time. I've caught a few 15-20lb lake trout out of there. Big tube jigs tipped with sucker meat

I fish here as well! But not very experienced. When they completely swallow the hook but are very small do you still release with the hook in the fish? I’ve had a hard time deciding this.

That's a tough call. My grandpa taught me that if you keep the fish it will die anyway so cut the line and release the fish with the hook still in it. If the fish survives, the hook will eventually dissolve (rust) away I would think. At least you are giving it a chance.
