Passing the blame around. The city is responsible for this!

I love how Katy Yaroslavsky is so quick to say that the 99 Cent Store people have failed in their responsibility to the community, but she takes no responsibility herself. Businesses have no responsibility to your community. They are there to make money. It is your responsibility to deal with the homelessness and crime in your community. That's what you are getting paid to do.

These people should not have to pay their property taxes until the mess is cleaned up.

TBH, if I owned a convertible, I would never park it with the top down anywhere. It's just not safe.

I drove past this store a couple of weeks ago and I couldn't believe my eyes! It was SO filthy and overcrowded with homeless people EVERYWHERE! I feel bad for them and I feel bad for the people who live in this neighborhood. Los Angeles MUST do better!!

These people voted for this, now they are shocked this happened? Get off your high horse and just take it like everyone else. Leave your house unlocked so the homeless or criminals can take whatever they want. Isn't that what you guys wanted in the first place?

These are very practical people, the homeless camping outside the vacant Rancho Park 99 Cent store. How can they get free room and board? Create a major nuisance in an upscale, white L.A. neighborhood. Generate enough homeowner complaints to bring local tv news coverage. Result: Karen Bass comes on Sunday morning with coffee, donuts and motel vouchers for everyone.

This has only just begun. The homeless crisis is going to get so much worse. People need housing they can afford now 😢

Not allowing affordable housing to be built is only going to aggravate the homelessness problem. Who do we feel bad for the homeless people or the home owners who property value goes down due to the homeless environment.

Katy Yaroslavsky is constructing a City owned homeless shelter on Pico Blvd. one block from the vacant 99 Cent Only store. The vagrants are vying for position on the wait list for free room and board.

Back in the mid 80's I met a couple of Africans who were studying in the US. Their biggest culture shock was how clean and orderly the streets and public places were. Now they'll feel right at home.

The National Guard should erect a tent city for these people. They are just as displaced as those in the aftermath of a hurricane or tornado. They are a danger to themselves. Drug use is still a federal crime.

This lady tried to contact the previous owner so she could blame them for the condition of the store they no longer work for and got no response. Gee, I wonder why? XD My response would have been "That sounds like a you problem, ma'am. I don't own that property anymore."

Homeless ?.. More like druggies or inapt past druggies that couldn't handle a living place if they had one, since most were probably thrown out of one in the first place for that very reason. What I see in the street is not the economical homeless, which I see maybe 2 to 5% of, old veterans for the most part, the rest is made of young (20-35) druggies or when not, people that seem perfectly physically able to work but probably not mentally. 2 recent YT videos worth watching on how things are now: California Insider/Sheriff Bianco (on the subject and cops muzzle on action) and Carlon/Jeffrey Sachs, edifying too...
