I have the dezl 800 and love it. Though it has some quirks. Watching your video though taught me how to select the route I prefer vs what it suggests as best. Thank you!
I just recently bought the 1050 Rand McNalley that thing drives me crazy all at all. I think your garment is a much much better GPS I like it myself. Good video.
I wasn't to sure which one to buy. Everyone has their opinion. But i like how you explain the different between the two.. I guess i go with the Garmin gps.. It has more options i can use.. Thank you for sharing your opinion. Take care be safe out there...
This Rand McNally gps is the closest thing to a computer. It pulls up information on truck stops, rest areas, and etc in real time with all the details to go along with it. That feature alone is next level on top of 28,000 additional detected low bridges and wrong roads to prevent running into those situations. In a comparison the Rand McNally would be a iPhone and the Garmin would be a Motorola Razor...... Just speaking facts 🤷🏽
I'll NEVER own another Rand McNally. I've owned over 10 different truck GPSs, most of them being Rands. I bought the Garmin OTR diezl 800 and LOVE it. I've had it over a year and it's never frozen once, which is a big problem with Rand McNally.
I used a RM Overdryve 8, and upgraded to the second gen 7. I used to like it, and really liked having my SiriusXM built in, but I think I would prefer being able to more easily use my SiriusXM in my pov. The Overdryve are the same as the TND with Sirius built into the mount. I’ve been checking out videos of the Dēzl and really appreciate the side by side comparisons. Thank you.
I just got the Dezl OTR 1010 an upgrade from the Rand TND750. Still trying to figure some features out. One thing I already miss is the current location/county and state option. The Garmin does not show you where you are. How do you get a whole list of Loves, Pilot, TA etc along your route or destination besides the ones coming up like the Rand did? Thanks
Yeah, all of the reviewers are going with the Garmin. This video confirms my choice. I'm going with the 710 Dezl, though. Thanks, I really needed this video.
Both RM and Garmin have their let downs. It depends on personal preference. I prefer RM and Truckers Path Gold subscription. Truckers Path Gold haven't tried Diamond, but the Gold beats both RM and Garmin. TPG gives you live Traffic Weather and POI in out loud voice, I've also seen it more accurately with everything like speed limits. Another thing is as soon as you are approaching destination it automatically goes into Satellite view showing you entrance etc. I don't use my internet but I use the company's by doing split view on the elog tablet with Truckers Path Gold. My Rand McNally is a backup, haven't used it connected to internet but I wonder if it's better than Truckers Path Gold. I returned my RM 1050 for a smaller one because it was overkill.
Yeah, but Trucker Path will send you down some roads you shouldn't go down, it asks you to make impossible turns on small roads in the city and towns, not to mention impossible U-turns.
Can you zoom that Garmin into a street level view? I have a smaller Garmin the 580 and it annoys me that I can't zoom it in to a street level view. At least close enough to where I can see the name of the street near a delivery.
Hey, man, I have an issue that you may be able to help with. When I try to make a detour on my trip, it only allows me to make it my "next stop". It doesn't give me the option to change the route via the road I selected.
I have the Garmin 1010 and before I bought it I did my research… Garmin works for me just fine… I believe both may be quirky… but Garmin is less of a distraction and simpler to navigate when driving. I’ve had it for four months..
Yea I have an older generation. And like it because I'm used to it. But I'm also going to similar places over and over again. For me I like the Rand McNally.
Disagree--been using both for years--The Rand unit is the winner for those of us who depend on them for work. Agree with you about the prices though--then 10' versions are expensive and unnecessary. The 8' units are fine--they're cheaper and plenty easy to read.
Had both and couldn’t stand the McNally face board , very weak magnet that falls off during bad roads when truck shakes and in general I just like the way how harming is built very durable . It’s not perfect and have glitches and shouldn’t be trusted 💯 but still better then McNally
I went with a Garmin 810. What I don't like is having to be connected to my phone to get certain features to work. Like if you want to use your wireless headset you're going to have to get another phone or tablet or buy a Garmin headset. That sucks..I ended up adding a 5g tablet to connect to the Garmin so I wasn't tying up my phone.
@@Vengancejr it uses Bluetooth to be connected to the dezl app. It's fine.. Not a big deal..I also have my wireless headset connected to my phone so I can take phone calls while I drive. That's the limit though..I like to stream music or podcasts also..I had to buy a tablet to accomplish all 3..I could not stream music, have wireless capability to my headset, and have the garmin give me up to date weather and traffic with just my phone. Didn't work.. Trust me I tried
@@midwest1228 interesting. Mine uses the app but doesn't interfere with having my phone connected to the truck radio and my blue parrot headset. I use my phone to stream Spotify and RU-vid through the truck stereo
I bought this tnd 1050 it sucks ots like a oversize phone i had Garmin for years and its not perfect but the menu on the side is important i see the next truck stop next rest area next weight station or restaurant this doesn't show nothing only in the map and you must click on it to know well i don't want to be distracted and if i want to know where all this stuff are i have google map on my phone so in my opinion Garmin is way more useful and practical so im going to change it at lovs for a new Garmin
Rand Mcnally is an android device so it needs Google Play which doesnt work on Rand Mcnally even when it comes up as an installable app through the TND app store it wont install Google Play. Rand Mcnally knows of this issue and hasn't fixed it.
