I'm an atheist and I care deeply about helping others. Empathy stems from physiology, not god. That said, I don't know if it is right to dismiss people who help others *for whatever reason*, even if that reason is an imaginary friend or imaginary afterlife in the clouds... the recipient still benefits...

You do not need religion to be spiritual, this is what the masses were taught to believe, that the "non religious" can't possible harness the capacity to care for another human being because they are far away from god, lol this is blasphemy, and far from truth. You want to paint your ideas onto others based only on your views, let me wake you up and tell you that the world works in many views not just your own. see what? that the world is in chaos, and the planet is fighting back all the corruptness that we do to destroy this planet. and we call this as reason to scare people to believe not just in a higher entity but your belief of fear to install into people, spiritualism in its purity can change a person through its real and true intentions, think about that for a second, im sure you can't think at all based on what you just said, you just repeat what you are told and what you read, you don;t have any real answers, but "you'll see" and YOU will see that the world was created for not just you and me, but for all to occupy, there is no borders, there is no real enemy but yourself, we try hard to put a blame in the physical aspect, ive seen more nicer kinder athiests who are also spiritual, and don't come talking to people like they are doing something wrong with their life and try to use scare tactics, it takes a ton effort to remove that kind of mental filters in your mind, and keeping an open mind means you rid yourself of ignorance, something a lot of people this generation has too much of.

***** In NYC, you can speak out all you want about certain types of corruption but you will be ignored, as in the instance of the proliferation of meth labs. The real estate lobby is the most powerful in NYC; NYPD & politicians totally ignore all reports of meth labs. Explosions are stonewalled, as in the instance several years ago of a meth lab explosion in Bushwick, Brooklyn, in which 3 people died. It didn't even make the evening news. You NEVER hear about meth labs in NYC, yet they are everywhere.

MmeDefarge (NYPD is Corrupt) you have to make yourself heard man. if a man has a just cause and shows sacrifice for what he believes in then others will join you. a revolution is waiting to happen we just need a spark

***** I can't afford to move, I'm near retirement age & the constant onslaught of fumes has made it hard to work full time. I've tried to get NYPD & the DEA to do something, while both admitted that there was a problem, neither have done anything in all the years I've been trying to have it addressed. All the politicians do is to pass it on to law enforcement which in turn does absolutely nothing. What do you suppose I should do beside out the meth labs around here & show how much corruption there is in gov't here, get a gun & shoot up the meth lab? I'm going to keep calling attention to the meth labs & put up a photos of them & every bit on can find on the corruption in the gov't which allows them to operate. Easy for you to wag your chin Jack about what I'm supposed to be doing. If you don't have any real suggestions than put up or shut up.
