Been following Turbo Views since 2010. Really amazing how much passion you put into this series. I finally sprang for a PC Engine CoreGrafx a few months ago on eBay and it's amazing to finally own a piece of original NEC hardware. Whether playing on an actual console or emulating the games, the Turbo family is quickly becoming a favorite for me now that I'm really experiencing the library in-depth. Such a great console. The lack of worldwide success relative to the competition, while a huge bummer in terms of squandered potential, means there's a whole hell of a lot less shovelware on the system. I also really love your stories and personal anecdotes sprinkled throughout the videos. I was born well after the system's discontinuation but the nostalgia is still well-felt. Thanks for the views, Chris. Looking forward to the next amazing project from you.

I was always baffled by how so many games released after Legendary Axe could not measure up to its visuals, especially with it being a launch title.

I'm happy to see some more Turbo Views/Sp1da content; was really not sure what to expect going forward for this channel. I was hoping for something, just didn't know what - maybe exploring the catalogs of developers/studios who made some notable TG16 games, maybe checking out the rest of certain series' that began on the TG16 but moved to other platforms, I dunno. But I'm happy to see 'Random Rerun' provide both a refresher with your already-existing reviews and also some new information and perspective on things. Gonna be happy to see these pop up in my sub feed throughout 2021 :D

Loved that chain whip. We also had a local store that rented TG-16, but they sold off there collection right as I got mine and missed the sell. Box Office Video in Hammond, IN. There were a few of them around our area, not sure it was anywhere else other than NW Indiana but it was the size of Blockbuster, maybe even bigger. A few years later, when I got the 3DO, I found a place a few miles away but still local that rented games for that.

When i saw the big sprites for the Legendary Axe boss and China Warrior i made the decision to sell my Genesis and get the TG16.

I owned both these games back when I has a TG16 and I Legendary Axe 2 definitely got more playtime than the original Legendary Axe. Better graphics and more variety in the game play held my attention longer. I did enjoy both though. They are both excellent games for the TG16 and both are must owns.

aw man I love The Legendary Axe. I just played through it and uploaded a vid to my channel. It reminds me of the original Castlevania-good music, nock back, strategic. Fun fact-the Spear guys are called. "poonjobs" in the manual. That cracks me up.

Yeah, the story line connection between the two games still confuses me.

They should have release the Supergrafx as the Turbografx 16 in the USA 🇺🇸 maybe it would had a fighting chance against the Sega Genesis.They came out around the same time what was NEC thinking.

Legendary Axe was a great name for a game. If only there was a totally different game with pretty much the same name and smaller pants... Oh! Hey! What's this?
