Happy to see you guys are still enjoying the lifestyle two years later. I am now even more certain that we made the right choice buying the type of Van that we did. Thanks for the inspiration and insight!
We love the rambling! It's a way to get to know you better! And you'll love looking back on all the videos later on and enjoying the adventures all over again!! Ms. Pistol loves her green beans!!! Awesome!
Congratulations on 2 years! We love seeing all the places you are discovering and sharing. We have a MB Sprinter Sportsmobile anxiously waiting to start our own journey soon. For now, we're still in Flagstaff, AZ where you are always welcome one we get back up to 75F (probably June). Thank you for sharing!!!
Congratulations on your 2 year vanaversary. Love your videos and this is a special one. You hit the nail right on the head. We hope to be also doing this some day in our Zion. Hope to meet up one day. Cheers.
I had to watch twice to make sure Dave said, "a "FULL size" 🚐 Zion may be next"👍🏼👏🏼👏🏼. YES, that would be perfect to have more room for his one of a kind spoons...and maybe he will make a bowl or two-they are very ♥️ special. Plus, there would be more room for you two to ♥️spoon♥️. Carey-On!
Happy Van-iversary! I know I'm very grateful for these videos. So fun to watch, and your positive attitudes and smiles make them even better. Not to mention the great vibe from happy little Pistol. Thanks for taking us along for the ride. Safe travels.
Great chit chat. Happy vanaversary! We have the same feeling about not having alot of STUFF and just living life to its fullest. Wishing you guys many more carefree klms.🍻🍹🎂 Cheers Toz.
We took our young daughter to Cocoa Beach in the 80's. Walking on the beach early one morning a man called out to us to come and look at something in the sand. It was a huge sea turtle laying her eggs in a deep hole she had dug. That was before cell phones and we didn't have a camera with us. You never know what you will run across on your travels!!
You two are inspirational. Congratulations on two years! Being able to be 24/7 with someone in such close quarters is a testament of the love you have for each other and life. Thank you for sharing your time and letting me/us be a part of your family. 🍸here’s to the next 2(?) yrs. THANK YOU and Carey On‼️
When you pare down the "things" in life, you really start to appreciate what is important. We started full-timing after a major health scare that really made us aware that time is so fleeting. We've lived in our 25" RV for almost 15 years. It always kind of surprises me when I realize it's been that many years. There have been problems...break downs or whatever. But still, we wouldn't trade this for the 3 bedroom house we had. And yeah, it may not be something we do forever, but we never want to own a conventional home. Maybe when we can no longer (or don't want to) travel we'll consider a straw bale house with tumbled glass beads, rocks, sand, and wildflowers for a yard...no mowing forever! Also, we do haul a cargo trailer around because we make jewelry. And we call ourselves The Artful Vagabond. I only mention that because when I first saw your videos on YT, I clicked on your channel because of your oh-so-cool name. :)
LeAnna Bing Thank you for the great comment. Aren’t we blessed that we figured out what was truly important to us? 15 years! So awesome. Maybe we’ll meet down the road sometime fellow Vagabonds!😁😁😁
Happy second year, keep on going! What an amazing journey. Count your blessings everyday. Move to the desert and you don't have to mow sand. LOL. What will it be like in two more years? dang awesome. AND...... You get to be together. You folks are the real deal. Keep the positive great attitudes. yes you ARE blessed. its always a new adventure. chase 75 degrees and keep making these fabulous videos. WE LOVE YOU!! CAREY ON!!
Finding your channel is like finding a diamond in the rough. Your raw honesty renews my faith in humanity in this crazy world. I agree you don't know what tomorrow holds. We love the places you guys go and explore. I hope we get the chance to get out there and do the same in our Roadtrek. Carey ON!
That would be so cool. We too love a campfire. We live in the Philadelphia , Pa area. Send us friend request on facebook and you can see some our Roadtrek camping photos! Take care, Carey On!
Wow that's cool. We love RC stuff. The RC surfboard is a big hit when we go to the beach. My wife videos , while I surf the waves. Its so funny people on the beach stop and stare and point to it. Check out my facebook page too. Joe Orse
Happy 2nd Vaniversary! I have said it before i love watching your videos you guys are awesome and your part of the reason I'm converting a Ram Promaster to a camper van. As much as i like spending time with my grandkids i also want see as much as i can of my adopted country of Canada and the United States. I wish you guys all the best in the future what ever the road of life takes you. Take Care.
To substitute your Kombucha, you might try Switchel which is honey and vinegar in hot water : 1 tablespoon of each in a glass of hot water... or to taste. That way to disturb your skoobi
Congrats on your vaniversary! Like I’ve said before keep on doing what you do. You guys are so upbeat & authentic...it just wouldn’t be a Carey video if it was scripted. I’m with you Dave as we discussed in Pomona, six years later & I don’t regret for a single second that I retired at the first opportunity. Yup I could have stayed & made more money but for me I was done.
Happy Vaniversary!!...it has been so much fun traveling along with you guys from the great drone shots and the foodie stuff and of course life with Pistol girl...Carey On Vegabonders :)
What I really like about your channel! You don't need to hang with other rver nomads on youtube to get more viewers. Your both just real people sharing an experience. Carey on vagabond is one of my favorites. Thanks, and safe happy trails.
First congrats on your 2 year milestone.I guess it boils down to different strokes for different folks. What I see about you three, is having the ability and finances to do what you do, at your age. I know my wife would enjoy what you do, but myself, I don't enjoy the unknown or blips in the road.I'm a stay home person, pro active guy and the wife is a adventurer, like you guys. You three add adventure to my life and show me the things that I would never see, without you and thanks for that. There is one thing I'm still waiting for though, is Pistol eating a long piece of spaghetti.LOL! Carey on!
Ahh thank you! We are so so happy you are on this adventure with us. ❤️ Next time we have spaghetti Pistol eats first! I think I’m going to have to make some just for her. 😛😊🐶
I wish i could talk the wife into major downsizing, but that won't happen...she will take long (4 weeks) but full time is not an option. One day I will go full time. Safe travels. Love your videos.
Yessss! A container home - I’m in! I love my shipping container and turning “ Fernando” (polished mahogany floors for dancing) into a tiny home appeals to me a great deal. Congrats on your vanniversary - how cool is it that you vagabonds took the road less travelled! 😎
Love y’all rambling on! Please do this more! Thanks for telling how great it is and freeing! Hopefully that will be me in a couple of years. Tired of chasing the $$$. Ready to chase 75 degrees!
A heartfelt congratulations on your achievement !! Y’all are extremely awesome and one of the nicest people we know ( unfortunately only through RU-vid ) but we would most definitely love to meet and we just adore Pistol. Again congrats and we wish y’all the very best in the near future. Looking forward to your next adventure Ciao y’all
Carey On Vagabond we are in center north east Calhoun County not to far from Talladega National Forest near Oxford in the mountains, there is Cheaha State Park, not too far from us there is a place called Little River Canyon National Preserv in Fort Payne. As far as we know is the only Canyon on this side of the MS river. If y’all like NASCAR we have the Talladega race track.LOL
Glad to see you enjoying the life and sharing all the great places you travel. I like the fact you stay off the beaten path and avoid the tribal crowds. I'm looking forward to seeing some of those wide open western spaces and FREE camping. Cheers!
So here’s a question. What challenges have you faced with the dodge promaster? Not the road trek issues, but the actual van challenges? I’m in the process of planning a van build. I’ve built my own camper and have gotten 30,000 miles out of it. But I want a van for convenience of not having to tow a trailer, and I love building things myself so they are just what I want. So my plan is to buy a new van and build it out inside. I’ve looked at the 3 big options, mercadies, ford transit, and dodge promaster. The dodge promaster is by far the best base for a van build due to the width and more straight walls and price. And since I could never afford a 4 wheel drive mercadies I like the better traction of the front wheel drive in the dodge. So I’d love some feedback on your experience with the dodge. Problems? Reliability? Durability?
We really like the Promaster but have no experience with the others. We like the width, mileage, front wheel drive and the reliability we have had. 66,000 miles and the only issue has been we had a spark plug/coil replaced recently. Oh, and I had to change both low beam headlights. Other than that no issues. We also like the idea of dodge dealers everywhere if we do have a problem. If I ever do a home build I would probably stay with the Ram. Hope that helps! Dave
Carey On Vagabond thanks. As I read further in Europe where class b vans are much more popular the promaster is considered the perfect build platform build. It will be a couple years before I can buy as I want a new one and I want the 3500 extended and I don’t want to borrow for it. So who knows how they will change it. But I’m glad you have had minimal problems. I also like it can be serviced anywhere and also that it is Made in America. Biggest thing I like is I the inside space. I went to a dealer and made exact measurements inside. Then slide it out in my garage floor. It will take a couple years to get it all planned out. But I figure $40k for the van and another 12k to build out the inside and I’ll have something unique just like my camper. Thanks again. If your ever in Massachusetts look me up. My home is on the largest recreational lake in mass. I have a great place for rvers to park.
Homebuiltcamper Dave Thanks! We’ll keep that in kind. Stay in touch and check out Humble road on RU-vid for build ideas. He’s doing a Mercedes but has some cool ideas. He’s not too many episodes into his build. Take care!
I'll clean your gutters for free! Did it for my neighbors but then I'm a busy body. Snow blowing is fun too, then jump on the fat bike and go out for winter adventures. Take care!
Carey On Vagabond, today is global fat bike day but didn't get out and spent the day volunteering for free bikes for kids. So much fun bringing joy to new young bike riders. Keep having having fun with your travels, you earned it!
Although I’ve only been following you for 13mos, its been an ABSOLUTE PLEASURE following you three on your mobil journey in life! Im subscribed to about 30-35 RV channels. My top five are as follows: 1) We’re the Russo’s (Joe & Kait) 2) Exploring the Local Life (Robert & Jessica) 3) moving Forward Adventures (Kenny & Sabrina) 4) You Three 5) Getaway Couple (Jason & Rae) Im a pretty good judge of character, and I personally consider you 5, The Best of The Best of The Best, La Creme della Cream, The League of Distinguished RVers, etc etc! Even if you three decided to make videos about living full time in a SMART CAR (lol), I’d still tag along for the ride! Always my best to you three 👍👍✌🏻😎
Sweet! Glad to see we make the cut. Honestly we know how precious time is and to have people watch means a lot. You are giving up part of your day to share ours. 👍🏼😀🚐
Carey On Vagabond love your channel! So much variation! Would love to travel like you, but not sure what it would cost. For example how many mpg does your van get?
There is a company that builds yurts and 6 sided homes that may fot your interests. I forgot the name, but I am sure you google yurts and 6 sided homes you will find it.
Is Pistol a very good dog for traveling? Does she get motion sickness etc. Thinking about getting a Boston Terrier or a Jack Russell. I know you are bias, but what is the pro and cons of Pistol. Also how did you give that name?
Those six sided homes are pretty neat! Who knows what we will come up with when it’s time. There’s so many options! A tall garage is a good idea. We may head into Mexico sometime..no plans yet. Pistol is a great traveler, no motion sickness at all. We named her Pistol because she’s been a pistol since day one. Active and rambunctious unless she is sleeping of course. I love Boston’s but just like people they are all different. We know some that don’t like hiking or the outdoors at all. I’m glad we got a pup that’s a perfect fit for us. 😀🐶
We've been thinking of having a tiny home in the mountains as a home base. Just a place to touch base with occasionally Maybe a Morton pole barn with a garage and workshop for the van and the other side being the tiny house.
This is exactly my vision for retirement. I've always wanted to travel extensively around the country and internationally, as well as own a nice small off grid home on a private pc of land somewhere to come back to and recharge periodically. A decent garage space to work on a project car when I'm not traveling would be awesome too.
Thanks again for being such well-adjusted people. You are an inspiration. From the Crow by Crow album I had on 8-track. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BuhWvK-lSZk.html - Crow - Slow Down ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PAFglr10FEA.html - The Route 66 Musical Road - Tijeras, New Mexico
I only subscribe to you and three others. I have to have my Pistol, fix everytime. What does Pistol, think about the travels. My wife knows of you as I relate your travels to her.
You guys hit that right on!..... Congrad's on your 2 yrs!! WOOT!!... Its the same for us.. I still have a 4 bedroom 2 bath home. I let my Mother live there while we roam around endlessly and love it! I can't see myself going home again..Its crazy how you look at things now... I see my home now as Wasted space, and a money pit that I never want to be in again... But I miss stuff... Like Canning, and a Garden.... But I would not give up this life style not for one minute!.. Not right now any way... :)
Yeah it would be hard to go back to a house. I agree though, a garden would be nice some summer. Maybe down the road when we have a tiny home/shop of some sort. I still can’t picture being there year round though. Safe travels & Carey On! 🚐😀
@@CareyOnVagabond we have thought about just having a home base... a place to stay for a couple of months..like a acre...and then travel as we want to...
