So true! I don’t do. Are decorating but I do Art 🖼️ , I have always been good at it but when I started practicing my Art became extremely BEAUTIFUL 🤩 so it’s always a little hobby until you practice and become way better😊
Valid, but i also think some people are born with artistic abilities .kids are taught the same alphabets but some have prettier handwriting to begin with, or better drawing than their pales. Of course in order to better it ,one has to keep practicing and stay consistent.
First, definitely agree! Second, that ombre is perfection! Third, my mom used to say "Okey dokey, artichoke-y!" I miss her. You brought that fun memory back. Thank you. ❤
I definitely agree. I feel like for some they might be a natural and pick up new tricks easier than others. While others have to practice over and over again to get it all down.
I love the physical representation of the two beautiful colors, so different, yet blending together to form an extraordinary whole, in reference to the combination of talent and practiced skill. Or, as my younger friends would say, "I see what you did there." 😂❤
I completely agree! I work very hard to get better at decorating my cakes. I've also taught classes and I see it in my students. Some have a natural gift and it comes relatively easy to them, while others struggle with just the basics. The ones that struggle almost always have other crafting talents but admit that cake decorating has never been something they can do. Those students are always so excited when I teach them rosette cakes, as they're cakes that even my 6 yr old class can do and they're always beautiful 😍 Love your cakes! Keep up the wonderful videos as I learn so much, especially new ways to teach/explain things 😊 God bless from Texas 🙏❤
Having gone to school for art, you could always tell the "gifted" students from the ones who worked hard to hone their skills. While those of us who worked hard to improve progressed as artists, the "gifted" students took zero constructive criticism and their art never changed or improved. Artistic skills ARE gifts, but learning how to use them and evolving are key✨
I think cake decorating is an art form just like any other only it's temporary and probably appreciated in a way that something in a gallery never would be. 😋 I hope you keep a record of all your creations because every time you cut into a cake it breaks my heart 😅 Maybe there should be a Tigga Mac gallery? Framed cakes, statues of your best creations and a pile of crumbs in the corner with the label 'MODERN ART' 😂 Absolutely have to have an ability and as you say practice, practice, practice.
Its definitely natural talent with lots of practice and dedication. Even the worst artist, with enough practice, can become a natural or master at cake decorating 😊 also, she didnt scrape the top all the way straight and once you notice, you cant un-notice! Lol still an amazing cake decorator! Id hire her in a heartbeat if she lived in my area!
@@lunaballuna I would love to order a cake from Tigga Mac but it would have to travel a hellofa long way to get here 😅 Luckily for me my adorable neighbour bakes and decorates and sometimes tests out on her neighbours. Its a hard life 😂😋
Definitely! When i came to America, i did not know how to bake. I've always loved drawing amd painting. Later on i learned to bake because my daughter wanted a unicorn cake and i didn't have the money to buy one, so i made one. It was a hit. Now i sell my cake and people love it!
My friend started baking and it was insane how much she improved in just a year! She made me a cake for my birthday last year and this year and it was crazy how much a year's worth of practice helps.
I agree it's a bit of both. However in school I was hopeless at art! But I have loved baking since I was a little girl and somehow despite my engineering/research brain I manage to pull off some pretty good cakes! So despite my lack of artistic flair in school I have a natural flair for cake decorating.
I think it’s the perseverance towards perfection 👌 sure you work at your craft but the reason you want to is because of your natural aptitude, enjoyment and the need to improve your skills that’s sort of what fuels you to work so hard at your craft 💜
I agree 100%. I can master the technical stuff of how to frost and pipe, but I don’t have the creativity to come up my own designs like the “Dark Romance” cake. OMG
Yes, I completely agree that it’s both! I’m an artist of all sorts of mediums (from clay to watercolor to embroidery & everything in between) And while I tend to be better at picking stuff up easily & fast, But I work hard to try all sorts of tips & tricks & techniques with every medium to master them! Believe it or not, I actually end up learning a lot of techniques that carry over into other mediums or at least give me new ideas to use other mediums in different ways (if that makes sense)
Agree! It’s like anything. Anyone can “do it”… but no matter how much you practice some people will have more natural ability to run with and do it to a much higher standard and more easily!
The skills can all be learned. The gift is being able to blend all the techniques into something beautiful. After watching your videos for a while, I could replicate what you do, but I'd be copying one of your previous designs. Like, that ombre technique I could probably do with some practice, but I'd only be able to maybe change the colors used. I don't know that I could come up with something new.
Great work and I agree. And thanks for confirming this. I do all the stuff you name. I craft, paint, draw, model clay, etc. I enjoy baking so much and now want to try cake decorating. It’s nice to meet other ppl who have multiple talents and hobbies, and even better when they wear All the hats, pretty well. 😊
Honestly, this applies to everything. Some people will be more naturally inclined to doing something. But everyone’s capable of picking it up, learning how to do it, and working hard to improve their skills at it. And the people who aren’t as naturally inclined can rise above the skill level of those that are if they work harder at it. It’s sort of like if you’re metaphorically running a marathon. The people who are more naturally inclined maybe started a mile ahead of you. But you both have so much distance to cover before you unlock your full potential (the finish line). And some people will either stop and stay where they are or completely drop out all together.
I agree 100% anyone can learn to do anything if they try their hardest and don't give up. However their is certain things that come easier to some then others because we all use different parts of our brains
I’ve always been artsy and I enjoy baking so cake and cupcake decorating made a lot of sense. All of my hobbies just feed into each othereventually😂 I’ve been told I’d make a great decorator but I fully know I do not have the practice (yet) to be anything more than just fairly good. A lot of talent is often just having the desire and want to keep practicing I think☺️
Agree! I've only just started at 54 years old and loving it! I've always had the natural flair but play about and practice - results are coming along nicely 🎉
I agree, I’ve always been an artist. Even though I hated art in secondary coz it was too restrictive😂 but it takes practice too. But with every step it’s still Learning
As a fellow creative, I could not agree more. I do illustration for a living, and while I appreciate when people say I have talent, it doesn't fully encompass the hours upon hours of practice that went into getting me where I am. It's not just a talent, it's also a skill when you have to work at. I think cake decorating is the same way.
I agree with you, that it's both. I make cards. Practice has made me better at it. I often can't explain my choices in putting things together and I reckon that's the "talent" part. It just comes to you. It's the same for anything that involves creating. Any form of "artistry". 😊
