I found an easy way to help pack the pin or soul down before out the plants into the pot. Use the back of those scoops. They are flat and round. Perfect tool
You're really close to 50k subscribers. How exciting for you. 🎉 You certainly deserve it. 😊 I hope you do something nice for yourself for all the hard work you put in for us.❤ Maybe a nice massage, new makeup or a favorite product, a planty T-shirt 👕 I don't know🤷 just something to put a smile 😁 on your face for all your hard work and planty accomplishments 👍💦🌵🌼
I love that way of doing tasks/chores. I think I will start doing that with my normal chores because i frequently get overwhelmed and end up having a hard time getting started…. Great way to get started!! Loved the video. You’re awesome ❤
Oh my gosh!!! This is such a fun way of getting things done. I need to do this for life in general. How did I miss this from Fern. I feel like I watch every video from you and her. Can’t wait to watch your tasks while I do some admin work 😅
Maybe I could use this exciting drawing technique to get my sons to do tasks! I could even add some surprise treats amongst the papers as an incentive. "You may draw a task or you may be a winner!"
I should make a pot of to-dos and get a few things done too! What a fun idea, I'm afraid I'd talk myself out of something and I don't have anyone to hold me accountable, lol. 💚💚💚
If only I could get my marantas to look like yours! I had to cut both my lemon lime and red all the way back because of spider mites!! Stunning plant!! ✨
Heart shaped leaves, is a RU-vid channel that has the best way to get rid of spider mites and I have always used her method. It takes one time and they are gone. No need to cut your plants back. Hope this helps
Just got my first bag of Pon and repotted a few small plants. I see now how you can become addicted! it’s so easy to work with. I’m excited to see the results 😂
This was definitely one of my favorite video ideas you have done yet! It was very motivating for me as well, I did some less than desirable plant chores along side you while watching!!
❤ Love it! Can’t wait to purchase a well loved plant by you!!! Even if it’s a reverted to green cutting!! I’m going to try the random task trick. Imma also going to use it for work! ❤
Same for me. I'm on a no plants buy for the year, but I might have to make an exception to purchase an inexpensive plant or corn... we'll see what happens 😉
This was great, Melissa ... the variety of tasks. Glad you liked it, too. But, but, you're making it almost impossible not to get a kitty or two this spring ... yours are so dang cute ... after vowing No More Pets!
Thank you so much! haha cats are awesome! Luna is on my lap know while I'm responding :D you'll have to get two so they can play and keep each other company 🤪
Why do you put the plant in water before transferring to pon? How long do you leave them like that? If you transfer from lecca to pon, do you put in water first too? Thanks! Love the video
I don't use leca but it's similar to pon. I transfer to water first to lessen any shock they may go through. A lot of the soil roots may end up rotting if you go straight to pon first. A couple weeks in water should be good.
Really impressed by the root system of the 3 plants you raised from seeds. Do you fertilize your plants in sphagnum moss once they begin to grow roots?
So many roots! I was impressed too! The moss was hiding some of them lol I started to gently fertilize them a couple months ago. I started with the GT and watered the moss through with it but for the first few months I just used my regular water 😁
I have been using systemic granulars for pest control in my soil and it has worked wonders. I’m wondering if I can put it on top of PON if it will work. My plants in water struggle with pests until put in soil with systemic
I love watching your videos. They are so much fun. An you motivate me to do mine. If you can do a care video maybe or let me know some tips for an alocasia tortum. I just got one and don't want to kill it lol
haha I was hoping I didn't draw some that I put in there because same! 🤭 Sometimes I feel I have to be in certain moods to tackle some chores that are overdue.
A month is a good time to let a plant acclimate to your home. If it is in soil I personally would transfer it to water first for a couple weeks then transfer to pon.
Thank you so much! I will do more and thank you! This is 1 of 4 of my lemon limes haha but the only one in pon - it really seems to like semi-hydro! My others are in soil.
Your shelf unit is no longer available. I was bummed because I like the two outside same and inner one spaced wider. I also couldn’t find a shelving unit that was 72”. 70” was the longest and few to choose from. I did find a shelving unit from IKEA that I probably will order at end of month since I have a sofa table 70” coming in a week that needs to be put together and it’s the same as your white one only dark as it matches my ikea living room furniture
Hi Melissa, I love your plants and your selection of plants. As I watch this video I’m wondering if you could share what PON mixture you’re using. I’m learning so much from you and other plant enthusiasts since I’m new to it. THANKS SOOOOO MUCH FOR SHARING.
I'm gonna steal that idea! So smart to make notes and pick a few from a jar. It has to make the chores much easier to manage 😊❤ and satisfying to rip them up when your finished 😊😊 I send you a message on Instagram btw, about the Micans on mosspole.
It was so fun! I loved changing it up and doing it this way. Made it less overwhelming! ☺️ Instagram DM's get really overwhelming for me sometimes 🥹 I would love to help everyone but with as many messages that get sent to me I can't get through them all. I do what I can to reply but I have to set limits or I can't get other work done.
Thank you for showing the first re-pot, I never thought to tie a knot in the string that wicks the water up. I LOVE the way you can stick your finger in the pot, to see how much water is in there. You said you bought them at Target, but I'm in Alberta Canada and we don't have any Targets-----Any ideas on where else I could find them? That is a beautiful Plant you put in there.
I am feeling like this now...feeling overwhelmed by the amount of tasks that are urgent. My main problem is that others require my time and I keep having to put my plant tasks on the backburner 😩 Thanks for your motivating idea 👌🏼 Will have to lock in a day in the week and block everyone else out 🫣 Your'e so cute when you open each 'surprise' task and the excited response each time hahaha and the 'piou' sound as you're tearing the done task so so cute hahaha 😝I have my Cuprea in pon and she's pushing out new growth already ( it's only been a couple of months) so yours should love it too🤭
lol I was glad to find my one corn when the plant died. Because I didn’t know if it died or went dormant I kept watering it. Then when I was checking the stump, it fell off. So when I was dumping the old soil out I started looking for corms and I found insight roots on it. So I potted it in stratum. Waiting yo see it grow a top.
Don't know if anyone has mentioned this before, but the Adansonii Aurea has Polaroid Variegation, so the variegation is not visible when the leaves first come in, they basically all look green at first. So maybe you still have a lot more potential in all those cuttings and just need to wait and see what becomes of all the new growth once it grows bigger and hardens off?
Hi Melissa I use coffee filters for netting and screen for windows. My husband get me a square of it from Lowe’s and I just cut it and put it in the bottom of my pots. Love the video have a nice day.
Hello, I put my Cuprea in pon from soil and I must say it loves pon. I've had so much growth in the last 2 months and each leave is bigger than the last. I love it. Good luck with the growth.
By any chance do you know how long it takes for alocasias to produce corms? I have looked everywhere and can’t even seem to find a rough estimate (Iv been watching all your videos and see you have ALOT of alocasias so I was hoping you might have an idea lol)
It depends, I think some varieties produce more than others. Alocasias that are more established will produce them more quickly. If they're small plants then they just haven't had time to grow enough yet to have corms.
It wasn't fun, it was much more than that, just a great video. It was so funny seeing you had fun with those paper picking, I had a very amusing time watching this video. Surely you have to do this again !!! Keep save and take care🥰
Fun video! Hey, those wicks do t need to be knotted and trimmed. You shape it into an upside down U and then put each end down through a hole so the ends go in the water. Took me a second to get that on wicking pots lol. And wow, that maranta loves pon! Makes me want to try a maranta again 💚
