AMAZING. It's one of the most underrated Zeppelin songs, and I never would've thought that it could be covered with a single acoustic guitar! Well done Mr. Jackson.
Really not fair for one person to have this much talent. And then to go largely unrecognized is a crime. But he loves what he does....that is the beautiful part.
This is the first time I've ever seen anyone cover this tune with only an acoustic guitar. Simply amazing and magical. I'm an accomplished guitarist/singer/harmonica/performer, and to see this tune pulled off by ONE MAN is incredible. I'm good, but not THAT good, LOL. Thanks for posting this, I will always cherish this performance.
Don't forget that he was in the band Zebra , and they weren't shabby in the least. Randy Jackson was the driving force in that group, too. He does NOLA proud in a time when there isn't much to shout about in his home state of Louisiana.
This is such an awesome version of this song! So difficult, as it was very keyboard and drum dependent, but he held me captive the entire time. I couldn't look or listen away.
If somebody told me you could do Carouselambra with just one guy and an acoustic guitar I wouldn't have believed it. But DAMN! Randy Jackson did a great job!
I always loved this song, being an ELP fan, I had a special liking for In Through The Out Door. But this acoustic version opens a whole new door to the song!
I was in a good Zeppelin tribute band a few years back, and Randy used to do double bills with us.(Remember The Blue Parrot anyone?) Good guy and talented.
Dude, you NAILED it. Covers are best when it’s an interpretation that honors the original. You did it in spades. What an a great arrangement. Your voice is killer. You truly do this song AND ZEPPELIN great justice. Thank you so much.
By far the best acoustic version I've ever heard. I didn't even think this could be done acoustically. Perfect timing, pitch, everything. Kudos to a serious talent.
i agree with the guy that said, "you nailed it." truly awesome cover, i can hear the keyboards and everything...awesome 12-string rendition; just amazing...rr
In a word: "amazing"! Just a totally amazing performance of one of my favorite songs in the world just about. Mr. Jackson does a more than admirable rendition of it here. I don't think Page could have done the guitar better, himself, Plant could have maybe matched the vocals with a bit of luck and on a good day, but to put that much punch,.. that much "oomph" into the song, as to make up for the whole band like he did here; (and we're not talking just 'any' rock band, mind you, we're talking the mightiest of them all: Led Zeppelin!), well, it was just brilliant. Thank you, Chuck Holloway for sharing it with us. ;o)
Very artful and COMPLETE coverage of most every note in every chord in this my favorite zep song. You have inspired me to learn the same. I think a 12 string is mandatory...you're one instrument trying to cover for 3-4 instruments.
This is brilliant, Randy! I could never really hear what Plant was singing in much of this, and I love the way you sing JPJ's keyboard parts in the bridge. This is a classic Bonham drum track, too, and one of my favorite songs to play on drums. You do a great job with the percussive parts.
