Sorry guys, we made a couple of mistakes in this video! 🤦 - We said Super Bowl 39 was 41-33 when it was actually 24-21. - We said the Patriots were the top seed in the 2006-07 playoffs when they were actually the 4th seed. There are over a hundred different stats and scores to keep track of in these videos, and sometimes we make a mistake.
You also said Brady knocked off the Steelers in the 2001 playoffs. Brady got injured in the 2nd quarter and never returned. Bledsoe played the rest of the game and threw the game winming TD. (The patriots only offensive TD of the game as their other two TD came on a punt return and a blocked FG return)
Wasn’t much of a rivalry with Mahoney more like a statement Even if Mahomes wins 8/9/10 Brady beat him in the title game then Switched team to get him in yhe Super Bowl Goat
@@ice843 yeah let not make it sound like bucs didn't have any good players on defense and offense and brady did it all by himself. and let not forget about brady 3 ints in 2020 nfc championship game and bucs hold down packers' offense from scoring off brady 3 ints. I think it funny cuz dumb pat fans think if brady went to NY jets brady would win a Superbowl there to. shit Eli manning beat brady twice what does that tell you? that brady is a choker in 2 Superbowl's
@@funtyes1970 that’s a lotta hate Are you ai generated Purely talking Brady vs mahomes Eli and foles prove Brady played down to his competition that’s all Imagine if he was 10 and 0
The NFL was never better than when Brady, Manning, Brees, and Rodgers were all at the height of their powers. Sprinkle in Eli, Big Ben, and Rivers and you’ve got one of the most entertaining eras of QB play maybe ever. I’d even give an honorable mention to guys like Alex Smith and Matt Stafford.
Right! To think Brady had a 10 year gap in between winning superbowls. That’s because all of his competition was in the superbowl winning rings! Manning brothers & Big Ben have 2 rings and rodgers and Brees have 1 ring! The competition nowadays is soft and mahomes competition was Brady who retired! Mahomes competition today is definitely NOT the same as the previous era! No competition for mahomes it will be a cake walk to the superbowl every year.
Quite possibly the two greatest QBs in NFL history. Brady is obviously the GOAT, but consider this: if Bledsoe never got hurt, how many rings would Peyton have won? We may be talking about him as the GOAT in that timeline. Legendary rivalry either way. So many great games.
This is a pretty common fallacy. Manning lost to New England in 2003 & 2004 there is no guarantee he wouldve won the Super Bowl. The Eagles and Panthers both did a lot better vs New England those two postseasons.
@@arsenioseslpodcast3143mahomes ain’t got shit on Peyton Manning. Imagine Peyton playing in this soft league ? Brady won a superbowl with ease in this era of the nfl. Peyton manning was the only QB to put up better numbers statistically than anybody and actually outplay Brady plenty of times, legitimately belicheck’s defenses was the reason Peyton didn’t win more. Shit nobody can even touch his 2013 season. Dude did 55 tds in basically 14-15 of games for how much he sat
I still think to this day that Manning was the better QB. I believe his level of difficulty while playing was higher than Brady’s. Manning was drafted to the worst team in the league at the time, played under multiple coordinators and coaches, never had dominant defenses or running game to lean on. Brady was the battery to New England’s dynasty. Nobody in their right mind would want to play in New England without him being there. However, I can’t deny that Brady had hall of famers on that defense. He literally started off as a low key game manager, growing into his greatness over time. It’s easy to do that when you have continuity within your organization. Peyton never really had that luxury…: he HAD to be good from the go.
Totally agree, Tom Brady had 16 top 10 defenses in his career, Peyton Manning had 8. Tom Brady had the greatest coach of all time, Peyton Manning had average coaches and went to the super bowl four different times with four different head coaches. If Peyton Manning went to New England with Bill belichick, he would totally have similar results with winning super bowls. If Tom Brady went to the Detroit Lions, would he have won seven super bowls? Nope! Yes, Tom went and had success with the Tampa Bay buccaneers, but again, he had a top 10 defense and he had players travel to Tampa with him! Not a normal situation, not taking anything away from Tom, he's the most accomplished quarterback of all time! Just I don't like it when people crap on Peyton because he doesn't have as many super bowl wins. People love to use team accomplishments (superbowls) to award an individual title like the "goat" title.
Manning had one of the best receivers of all time in Marvin, for a decade, and some of the best running backs on the planet in Marshall and james. Stop you are embarrassing yourselves. Manning 251 ints. 96.7 QBR Brady 203 ints. 97.6 QBR in way more games. . . So Manning threw 50 more ints than Brady in 60 less games.
@@bradwhitney4017No the bottom line is Manning was a playoff choker who went one and done 9 times and had home field advantage in half of them.He threw a pick six in the last minutes against the Saints to lose the Superbowl so you can stop with all of the lame excuses
@@bradwhitney4017greatest cosch of all time yet he has a losing record without Brady and won with Bruce arians. Manning would also have zero rings if he went to the lions. Brady never got carried in a Super Bowl like manning did in 2015. Brady for a long time gave up weapons so they could get those better defenders
This is the greatest rivalry between QBs. The fact that people compare new "rivalries" to theirs shows that but man just watching these two was a blessing. Peyton was my favorite his whole career it took me till Bradys later years to stop being one of the crowd that always hates on greatest(the crowd now boisterously hating on the Chiefs and Mahomes). I will never forget watching these guys forever some of my favorite moments in football.
@@JaKingScomez I’m 28 I saw the entire thing you clearly didn’t watch the video manning lost every yr till 2006 then lost all over again until he won w the broncos. That’s not a rivalry at all.
I'll never forget my late uncle brought me to that pats vs broncos game in 2014 it was freezing cold. and by halftime 24-0 my uncle wanted to leave... i begged him to let us stay at least one more quarter.. but he said the game was over... i'll never forget hearing the cheers from the crowd as we walked the long way back to the car... kinda glad we didn't stay because i wouldve been even more pissed lol
@@icebergthegamer freaking frreezing right?! lol and we were way up where it was windy... i bought a pretzel and by the time i made it back to my seat it was frozen lol
I'm a Las Vegan, spent most football weekends since the early aughts thru the mid tens at the sportsbook. There's about 5 or 6 games (including that one) I remember people desperately digging through the trash to retrieve the ticket they dramatically threw out at half or later. 3 of those games involved Peyton Manning.
Greatest games I have EVER had the pleasure of watching. In most instances, the AFC championship between these two were better than the Super Bowls that followed.
Ya and if you actually compared their numbers against each other you'd think Peyton never lost a game to Brady. But since Brady had better TEAMS with better coaching....they actually won more. Peyton would have won 8 straight superbowls of New England had drafted him instead of the bum a$$ Colts. The 5 league MVP's proves Peyton was a better qb on a mediocre team that he single handedly carries in INDY
During this rivalry i always had Peyton’s back he had success with two different teams under 4 coaches Super Bowl app. But when he retired I finally acknowledged that Brady is and forever will be the goat. Especially when he beat the wannabe goat mahomes in his first season with Tampa. Brady’s first start being against Peyton is simply poetic there will never be another rivalry like this.
@@earthpart3 lol accurate.. but same could be said for tom Brady's first games vs Peyton.. Peyton wasn't throwing interceptions to Tom Brady. The colts weren't held to 3 points by Tom Brady 😂
Even if they didn't win the Superbowl that year, Tom Brady and Randy Moss shouldn't have been allowed on the same team; that's a warcrime. God should have intervened. Multiple Gods should have intervened.
Say what you will about Peyton Manning but some facts do remain. 1. Twice (2006 playoffs with Bob Sanders on field, and 2015 von miller) , Peyton Manning had good defense behind him 2. Twice, in those same years (top 5 defense at the time it was playoffs) He won the Superbowl. 3. Every other year, he carried mediocre to awful defenses on his teams...teams that without him, would not have been in the playoffs. 4, Tom Brady had a top 5 NFL Defense behind him MOST of the first 7 years he started. He cashed in 3 of 4 Superbowls in that time. SO, They are the equals of each other. The only difference is the Defenses that played behind them. And the HOF or PB receiver argument that used to be made against Peyton is not possible any more. It's because in 2013 He threw 55 TD's and 5500 yards WITHOUT ONE!!! He had an old man Wes Welker, and 1 other scrub whom he elevated to pro-bowl status by throwing to him a lot.
This is not true lol. Manning had more top D by dvoa than any qb wxcept elway and montanna. By traditonal method he had a top 10 D 7 times but only won twixe. Even in years he didnt like 03-04, his defense played well. The Pats only scored 24 and 20 points in those victories and thats with 5 combined picks by manning plus 3 fumbles by skill
Manning and Brady might be the greatest rivalry in US Sports ever. Brady with more team success but Manning with more individual success. 5 Mvps 3-2 Playoff record in Manning's side but a 11-6 overall record and 7 SBs on Brady's side. In my opinion it was the greatest thrower against the greatest winner/competitor in all time and sports
@@what...what... why do all brady fans focus on WRs. do u know theres a defense, a run game, special teams and a team system right? and Brady definitely is not winning 5 mvps. Those colts defenses were not really good brady wouldnt have any success with those teams
@@dominicharris5489 peytons offensive scheme and weapons were miles ahead of bradys for the first 7 years of their career. If brady in 2002 his first full year as a starter was able to lead the league in passing tds with David patten and Deion branch how coudlnt he have done it with a pass happy scheme and marvin harrison, reggie wayne?
@@PATRIOTICM4A1 "done it" as in what? win 5 mvps? if so, its because Bradys team was better than Mannings colts at every position outside of WR. and maybe brady fans should give those WRs more credit than they deserved because the logic that brady did this or that with average WRs then lost when he had a elite WR group and a top 3 ever offense is pretty flawed. but Peytons offensive dominance came with average to bad to terrible defenses. and we all know the better the defense the more chances on offense the QB will get. I just dont see brady getting more mvps than he got on the patriots on a lesser team like mannings colts.
This is the 2 greatest ever and they played against each other what a treat it was I miss them both the nfl is watered down now not the same like I said before mahomes isn't close to these 2
The nfl is so soft now! Many games now are boring and I would rather watch older games! It was exciting watching Brady, Peyton Manning, Big Ben and drew brees play against each other! You don’t have any competition nowadays except for mahomes. Mahomes true competitor was Brady who retired! The other quarterbacks( Lamar, Josh Allen, burrow and hurts) just do NOT compare to the rivilary of the Brady/manning era!
As a Cowboys fan. If I knew Brady and Manning were on the same field I was saying screw the cowboys im watch Brady and Manning! That was must see TV! 🔥🔥🔥
They really battled for the greatest QB of all time. Even tho manning didnt have the elite talents & coach that brady had, manning one of the greatest ever
2007? 2012? 2014? That’s about it. All the other years either one of their teams didn’t make the playoffs or both teams lost before they could play each other…
I think it's hard to deny that Brady was superior, Manning may have been the better athlete throughout their years in the league together but Brady overcame his inferior athleticism by proving to be a hard to beat winner and overall more consistent champion. I hated watching Brady win all the time but reflecting on it, he was truly the greatest I have ever seen. I have to tip my cap to the GOAT, Tom Brady. To some a hero, to many the villain, he was a true plague or prophet on the league throughout his career depending on which team you root for.
Im from Indianapolis and I remember listening to the radio in 2001 when Colts Pats were in the same division. I also remember that year fearing Tom Brady but I was still in denial that he was great. To me Peyton is the best due to his overall excellence.
Manning was a mile high miracle, a Big Ben shoe string tackle and regular season goal line stop cs NE in 03 from a hypothetical Super Bowl championship or 2. If Peyton had 4 rings I think he’d have a strong GOAT argument when you factor in his absurd 5 MVPs and 7 all pros.
Kids won’t understand how exciting it was midway through the rivalry even though Brady had dominated most of it. It was Josh Allen vs mahomes x3 exciting after that crazy late 4th quarter masterpiece they put on.
Great rivalry and much mutual respect for each other. No doubt Tom is the Goat. Brady had some better defenses but Manning had superior weapons on offense. As it stands now, it was the number 1 vs number 4 QBs of all time against each other. It may be a while (if ever) that we will have that again.
Peyton Manning went 1 and done 9 times, NEVER played great in a Super Bowl, and his playoff stats are 40 TDs to 25 Picks 💀💀💀💀💀 most overrated player of my life I swear to god lol dude gets praised for being the smartest player ever but choked in the clutch over and over and over again 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Anyone wanting to know just how good the Patriots' defenses were and how well coached they were in the 2000's Should look at the difference between the absence of Tom Brady to them VS the absence of Peyton to the Colts. In 2008 The Patriots still went 11-5 with excellent defensive and offensive numbers behind Matt Cassel. YES! Matt Cassel, a career backup took that team to 11-5. So much for Tom Brady's worth eh? And what happened to the 10-6 Colts with Peyton out? The collapsed to 2-14, the worst record in the league. That is proof the Peyton was the superior QB at the time. His teams were being carried and conducted by him, not the other way around.
What undid Manning was the post season failures . To many costly turnovers. In a world where Manning won maybe 3-4 SBs and you take one off Brady the convo might be different. But Brady success especially in those early years with mediocre to poor weapons pushed him foward.
Bill didn't make a blunder on 4th & 2. He took a calculated risk that simply didn't work out. The pass was even completed and missed the first down by inches. Had it gone the other way, you'd be calling it a genius call that stopped Payton from having another possession. According to Mariam Webster, a blunder is to make a mistake through stupidity, ignorance, or carelessness. This was not the case. Otherwise, great video, that just annoyed me a little bit and this is coming from someone who is NOT a patriots fan at all.
Agree 100%. I was about to post this exact same thing. Just because a play doesn't work out doesn't mean it's a blunder. It was a gutsy, and correct IMO, call by Belichick. You have 2 choices to win the game: 1. Gain 1 yard with Tom Brady as your QB 2. Try to stop Peyton Manning driving for a TD The actual blunder would've been to not give Brady the chance to gain 1 yard and win the game for you.
I am enjoying this video very much. I have always been a fan of the Pats, Bucs, and Eagles. Which means I love Tom Brady, he is The GOAT!!! That being said, you made a mistake. You said in Super Bowl 39 that the New England Patriots beat the Philadelphia Eagles 41-33, that was the score of Super Bowl 52 when The Philadelphia Eagles beat the New England Patriots. The final score of Super Bowl 39, Patriots-24 Eagles-21. The final score of Super Bowl 52, Eagles-41 Patriots-33. Check your Super Bowl scores next time before making a video. I didn't even look up the score because I usually know the final scores of any Super Bowl that either my New England Patriots, my Tampa Bay Buccaneers, or my Philadelphia Eagles have played in.
EVERYBODY KNOW THE NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS ARE LIVING LENGENDS...THEY HAVE BEEN WINNING THE SUPER BOWL SINCE THE EARLY 90'S... WHEN BLEDSOE WAS KING OF THE FOOTBALL FIELD 🏈... ✌
I was a colts fan growing up. Imagine how heartbreaking that was to watch my team win 12 games every year for a decade. Then go up against Brady and a belichick defense and get their ass whipped.
Belichick's 4th and 2 miss against Indy set correct 4th down play calling back a decade. It was the RIGHT call, given the way both offenses were playing, but it just didn't work out, and then we got a decade of coaches punting from midfield before FINALLY in recent seasons the best coaches have started to figure it out again.
It did end as it should have it was the rule at the time. The only one who knew what was going on was bill. In the regular season the Patriots lost a game to the same tuck rule and the raiders won one. Bill had his players clearing a path for his kicker. Besides that game went into ot with both sides possessing the ball. Then for some dumb reason, Gruden calls a timeout to freeze Adam. Which again allowed the players to clear a path for the kicker. Get over it. The right call was made.
The Brady vs Manning rivalry proves to me the ridiculousness of the conference system where teams from the same conference can never face each other in the Superbowl! At least we did get a Manning vs Brady Superbowl, twice even, just not the Manning we wanted! The problem is there are too many teams to have just one conference but a way round the Superbowl problem could be to randomise the playoffs with AFC and NFC teams playing each other. Obviously this would mean no Conference game but tbh who really cares about that anyway? I'd rather see the Chiefs vs the Bills, i.e. Mahomes vs Allen which is the closest we have to a new Brady vs Manning rivalry, in the Superbowl than just the Conference game.
Good video but you didn’t mention how Bill Polian( colts GM) cried to the nfl committee to change the pass interference rules back in 2005. Then once the rules changed, the colts started winning vs New England
I'm seriously hoping this is the trajectory we head into with Allen vs. Mahomes. I keep telling people, it isn't over... Manning was completely owned by Brady for a long while. This is why I pay zero attention to sports media after bad losses. All you hear is "never will" or "isn't the guy". Manning heard that too. But he ended up getting his.
As far as pure passing I thought Manning was a superior passer than Brady and statistically he beat Brady when you compare season vs season. It wasn’t until Manning’s injury that he was never the same but I definitely give Brady the nod when it comes to mental toughness and clutch performance.
