Range Rover P38 heated seat repair. Part 2 of 3. 

Range Rover P38 (2000) heated seat repair.
This isn’t a “how to” video. I’m sure there will be more methodical ways to carry out this sort of repair.
The heated seat didn’t work for some time, it’s a common issue on these cars. The wire heating element tends to break on the base.
In this part I get the leather cover removed from the foam base.
The hog rings can be cut off with some decent snips, something I didn’t have available at the time and used the other method instead.
This particular base is well worn and at some point I’ll replace it. For now it will have to do.
I repaired the breaks in the wire with some solder and solder sleeves (belts and braces). I also added a different temperature control switch to run the heated seat for longer and a touch warmer. I didn’t manage to get this on camera but showed a before and after in the video.
