Great video! Love L320’s! I bought the LR driving/fog lamp kit (VUB502440) a few years ago. Although I am a decent mechanic, the instructions were so complicated that the kit is still in the box under my desk! Looks like a straight forward installation. Glad to see that you still have full fog lights when you want them.

Wow Jason.... so within a couple of days of me posting the video... and listing the items on the website you have purchased them....wired them and written to tell us ! Hope the install went well... I was going to do the D3 video today but the battery was flat and got busy with day to day stuff and meetings !

@@L663 All went well, I did put bootlace crimps on the cables going into the PCB and a little wiring diagram would have helped but it was very easy to fit. Been waiting for this kit for a while and it was very worth the wait.

Yes the videos range from entertaining to technical...glad you enjoyed it... this product took a while to develope all the parts... the laser cut brackets... wiring looms... controller board etc.

Re the Scotchblock connectors, I always seal/wrap them with black electricians Insulating tape to help stop the water and corrosion problem. Also it strengthens the whole connector and wiring. Good work as always Simon!! I hope they sell well. 😀😀😀😀😀Richard.

That's a very comprehensive piece of kit there Simon, I reckon if you get enough orders it might be worthwhile fitting the circuit board into a plastic case instead of the plastic sleeve. Nice instruction throughout. Another camera operator I see, how you get through so many I don't know 😂

Have fitted these to my Discovery 3. Not yet wired the DRL part of the system but even as a fog light they are very nice. My only concern is whether I have fitted them properly - unlike the OEM items they don't sit centrally in the removable bezel - they seem about 5mm to 8mm off centre? Can you please post some pics of them fitted to your D3 when you can so I can see where I have gone wrong? Thanks

Hi, In Poland, daytime running lights cannot be on at the same time as the dipped headlights. Is it possible to completely turn off the daytime running lights when the dipped beam headlights are turned on?

Received and installed today. Pretty straightforward, but I’d like to make a couple of comments. The kit doesn’t come with any instructions at all - it depends on you using the RU-vid video to “play along at home” - Not the worst thing but I did need to spend some time rewinding and looking again in a few places to be certain. Once the setup was completed, it’s not working quite as expected, but there is no troubleshooting guide and no documented reference to verify that I didn’t miss anything. When I start the car, the DRL “C” ring comes on, but not bright like the installation video. As soon as I turn on the lights, the DRL “C” dims to almost nothing and on the dashboard the indicator for the fog lights comes on - nobody else has mentioned this behaviour, nor does the video. This feels wrong because the fog light circuit and the DRL controller are separate. If anyone can offer any troubleshooting tips, that would be great. I’ll review all the wiring again in the daylight tomorrow, but since each lamp is operated by a separate circuit, it seems a little odd as both lamps are identically afflicted.

No and Yes.... dont buy this kit....you need this kit but without the stainless brackets.... The only problem with the 2010 sport is there are no removable fog bezels in the front bumper.... its a bumper off job !

I think you mean VOLTS... not amps but it should be OK so far no one has complained they do not turn on !

@@L663 I have bought a small waterproof enclosure and will wire the control board through grommets to a waterproof connector. I am then going to add suitable waterproof automotive connectors to the loom to make it all watertight. Hopefully this should make the whole system waterproof and leave no loose wires around (the unconnected DRL earths concern me in the bumper).

Try disconnecting the indicator wires and sidelight wire from the board - this circuit will then just be working on detecting the battery voltage. If this works then add the sidelight - check the function then If this work then add the indicator wires.

OK, I spent ages this afternoon, starting with the “only DRLs” wiring. Still didn’t work. I tested everything twice, ended up reconnecting the old fog lights, which cured the dash fog light indicator issue and proved that the fog light native wiring was fine. Cutting a long story short, rewatching the full installation video for the umpteenth time, I noticed the discussion about whether the car loom and new combo lamps could be connected either way round. They can, but when that happens, even on just one side, the dashboard green (front) fog light indicator lights as soon as ignition is applied. It seems that if one foglight side is mis-connected, neither side earths properly and nothing works at all (neither DRL or Fog). Once I had reversed the error on the offside lamp, and connected one side and tested, before connecting the second side and testing again, everything worked as expected. During my testing, I found that the metal bracket isn’t a path to ground for the DRL lights, only the correctly connected original vehicle fog light plug gives a usable earth path. I hope this helps someone else troubleshoot similar issues more quickly. Steve
