A good tip for anyone that doesn't know too is that you can crouch with the Masterwork Pistol for a boost to accuracy to help deal with specials, getting headshots and adding a bit more focus to autofire mode
As much as I love the move speed of 'No Dawdling' I tend to run 'Exuberance' since I listen to music when I play and can't hear the clan rat about to stab me in the arse.
Agree... People sleeping on the ranger, and tbh it doesnt look fun at first, but can provide awesome utility and I agree with PartKnife the pistol elevated him a lot.
I dont have 800 hours only 300, but there is so much depth with the combat and classes I can still learn new things... I barely played some of them, I've ban sleeping on the ranger till now.
Me and my friends always use the Temp HP ult talent, really helpful for keeping the team alive and boost weapon DPS for everyone. The one you use sounds a bit more selfish but also allows you to have higher survivability and escape value to go revive if need be.
I think it depends on your level of trust. If you know your teammates can handle themselves and dont have to cover their asses that close, moving around taking out specials and elites mixed with the horde is a real blessing. Melee focused classes can deal with basically infinite number of skavenslaves, but if there is 2 marauder and 5 berserker in the mix, there is real trouble...
The only build I've been playing is the Boss Killer one with the Masterwork Pistol, it's so disgusting, I believe it has the highest Boss DPS possible. The Pistol is also pretty good vs hordes in a pinch and good vs Elites, only problem is specials unless close, but too close can be an issue if it's pack master for example due to the inaccuracy of autofire mode. Still it is really fun to play.
Dropping that ult powered up by Exhilarating Vapors when you get caught out in a horde or surrounded by an armored patrol is pretty strong. The slight knock back gives everyone a second to start teeing off with that extra attack speed, comboing with the temp health to possibly get people out of last hit territory can all together be super clutch. At least, more so IMO than the mysterious missing ninja dwarf roaming the lands or possibly being able to drop a bomb at no cost if you have one. One last saving grace for it, you got to remember that you are dropping agro, thus dumping that agro on teammates when ulting. This is the only version of the level 30 talent that improves the teams resilience in that situation. That all said, got to go bomberman build for the chaos wastes, its just too damn funny. Edit: oh, attack speed helps the masterwork pistol be even more broken when rapid firing it at point blank against bosses, so there is that too. At lower difficulties like champion, you can erase certain monsters in just 2 clips.
Hahahahaha xD I'm not even gonna say that I disagree because I actually don't. At least I don't think so... The point here being that unlike with some other classes I would never presume to know with certainty that what I said was correct which is also why for that particular talent I believe I was a bit hesitant in stating that I just personally felt it was underwhelming hehe :P anyways appreciate the comment and thanks for watching!
@@ThePartyKnife I think this really depends on your overall skill level. Me and my friends barely can scratch a victory on cata, so I would say we get in a bad situation at least 1-2 times a map, sometimes even more. So we benefit from these clutch abilities which can save you from bad positioning or if you find yourself in the middle of things. If you are good and you are not playing as dumbass (as we do :D) probably will benefit more from the other skills.
I really love the Ale Perk. I really do. But i took so many random hits from enemies because i accidentally picked up a bottle instead of the ammo and couldnt block while the drinking animation
I would pretty much only use firing fury for the crossbow or shotgun since the reload speed buff only lasts for about 2 sec after you hit multiple targets. With those weapons you'd reload immediately after firing anyways and have a somewhat easy time hitting multiple enemies.
Not saying it's as good as the pistol cause it's not, but you probably should have at least mentioned the doom ranger with the grudge-raker. Very fun and viable
I prefer Exuberance, cause I can’t trust other players to watch my back. Many times I’ve taken a hit from behind to see my teammates just stood watching. Though that could be part due to the VT2 community that scream every time they take friendly fire damage. Quite a few times I’ve shot a enemy that was running up behind a teammate but the shot pierces and hits them, takes 5% of their health and they turn and sling insults, even when I explain about the dead ratman on the floor next to them.
And that is a totally valid choice as well! :) Unfortunately these videos would be too long if I had to cover every aspect of the class like in the mastery guides so maybe I will do a follow up at some point! :P Regardless thank you for watching m8!
It is trivially easy to get headshots with bardin's melee weapons, so you basically have a constant 30% damage reduction from Exuberance anyway. Combines with Barkskin and it makes him significantly tanker than you would think.
By the way everyone, PK confirmed in a discord call that the Throwing Axes are the best weapons for Ranger Veteran. Absolute truth, totally not a joke in any form or fashion.
Thanks to that video i started playing ranger veteran again and i was like "wait, does he deal damage?" when i scored second highest monster dmg on cataclysm chaos wastes (only 500 dmg worse than that new elf everyone is playing) i answered myself "yeah, he does" and he became my most favourite carrier for dwarl
The reason Bardin can't reach certain things above him is simply cus he is shorter, the interact sphere is tied to the camera (or center of the character, can't remember), so as he's shorter, the center of that sphere is lower compared to every other hero, so it's physically impossible for Bardin besides maybe Slayer to reach that particular book doing that jump there.
Poor throwing axes, even before chaos wastes they were bottom of the barrel, they should've let them work with the projectile boons :( maybe just not on slayer to balance it out? I guess fatshark was scared to give slayer a good ranged weapon.
I might have to revisit ranger veteran one of these days but your delicious vids turned me into a handmaiden main XD. Dual hammers or cog hammer for iron breaker in your opinion? Cog hammer feels nicer to me but i see dual hammer a lot more and I haven’t used dual hammers that much yet.
Cog Hammer gives the stagger and kill power that Iron Breaker needs for his tankiness to bring value. Use Rolling Mountain and Drengbarazi Oath so that killing hordes gives your ult back *much* quicker and also gives a juicy 20% power to you and allies. Gomril Curse will give you the space to land the Heavy1 headshots to annihilate whatever is giving pressure.
but hey with the party gift u can from mogrims bomb for free :'D nice guide :) To be honeat i juat uaw the throqing axes if i use the last resort talent, the last axe gives u also that damage boost and u can possible playing around with that melee dmg boost. I totally get what u mean yeah :D, and theoretically if u pick up ur axes it count as a reload so u can speed up your cooldown insanly fast XD Sorry for my bad english and greetings :D
I know its old video and u probably wont respond but why go for Stamina on dual hammers, for cata isnt it 60% block cost clutch in most cases ? hammers already have 4 stamina wich is alot, does it need 5th that much ? Thanks in advance !
Thanks to you I need to play RV again :P But let me tell you: Coghammer needs a buff .. and a fix. It just feels so weird at times. Almost like the Glaive before it got fixed.
?? Cog Hammer does *not* need a buff. It is absolutely cracked on Iron Breaker and Slayer. You simply need to trust its stagger potential. I'm perfectly fine with it not being as great on ranger veteran - he can just take dual hammers, hammer, or shield and hammer.
I'm surprised the masterwork pistol was picked as the best because for me it misses...alot. At range a large percentage of shots simply miss regardless of player aim. I assumed that it was just a short range weapon. Did they nerf it since this video was made?
A lot of people like to use the concoction to use with ult for boss DPS, I don't think you mentioned it as an option, only proxy, what do you think of that? 50% attack speed and strength for the pistol is godly boss DPS
If there are no other boss killers in the party then yeah concoction works fine, but all you need is a Huntsman, Grail Knight, Bounty Hunter, Shade, SoT, and even Batlle Wizard for Proxy to give more value. Proxy-ing a Concentration Potion is probably the best, since you get a 2nd Ult for RV (meaning MWP deals maximal damage per ammo used) and another ult for an ally - this is most useful when their ult is a killer (GK, BH, or Shade) or if it provides stagger (Foot Knight, Merc, BW, Witch Hunter Captain, SoT) etc. Finally, Proxy provides value outside of bosses or when you're close to dying, whilst concoction only really gives value at a high density petrol or boss and when you have survivability. Overall Proxy is better, unless you're Shade lol.
I can understand that! But I think what you need to work on is more about mobility and pushing in combination with proper dodging which certainly takes some time to master! Shielded weapons are certainly an option you can work with but I do think you lose abit of the versatility you can have on the class since you aren't very mobile with a shield and will struggle to go off on your own. That being said I don't blame ya! :D Ranger veteran is a tough cookie to learn on cata for any player! :P And thanks for watching!
@@ThePartyKnife I think that I'll gradually move over to more mobile options as I get better at Cata. I've only got about 15ish hours on it by this point.
What are the breakpoints for the mastetwork pistol on cata? I oneshot elites on legend but not on cata and aiming with the pistol on ps4 isn't that easy 😂
The breakpoints on Console are different than on PC - console has lower density but stronger enemies so that their FPS isn't so bad. Weapons also have higher power to compensate. So he might not be able to help you, sorry. I guess run armored 20% skaven 20% and see if you can 1 shot bodyshot storm vermin on cata (go to Into the Nest to guarantee SVs quickly). If you can't do that, then also try it with Witch Hunter Captain tag for 20% more. Then ult.
The worst thing about Ranger Vet is that you cant have Ironbreaker bot on your team when youre playing him. And Ironbreaker bot is just a hypercarry god - real talk.
Apologies :P But this is sometimes the cost of trying to create almost daily content. I will probably give the video an updated version in the near future where I go into other builds as well! :)
dude, i like your videos but i don t like the intro and the "sillines" i think you are a cool youtuber and bring really good content on vermintide 2 and i really appreciate it but just act natural, seen alot of dislikes on other videos and i realised those people were disliking it because of this.. the video was really nice and good quality builds but yeah, i am sorry for saying this but i m confident you can grow as an youtuber if you can be a bit more "mature" and i am sorry again for saying all of this but i really hope you see this as constructive criticism , take care dude !
I don't mind that some people dislike the intro's and I can certainly respect some constructive criticism! With that said. I'm not gonna stop making cringy intro's because quite honestly a lot of people (way more than the dislikes) say it's the funniest and best part of my videos. And considering it's the type of content I like to make and it's only for a short bit in the beginning so people can just skip it if they don't like it I don't see myself stopping it anytime soon. But I do appreciate the honesty!;)
@@ThePartyKnife yeah after i wrote that comment i realised that the intros (whether i like them or not haha) are kinda the essence of the channel, like it gives it more life in a way haha, yeah i just gave honest opinion and i will respect your decision and watch your videos from now on too, take care !
@@Aejaky Thanks man! And just know that I very much appreciate the honesty and politeness that you exerted by taking the time to write a thoughtful comment!
@@Aejaky I think in general thats a pretty big question for content creators - do you make the content you want to make or the content that appeals to the broadest audience? (PS: hot tub stream when?)
