Sup Torts. If I was a Ranger you would be proud. I'll cross check Brooskie in the face with my stick if he asked questions to me when I didn't want to answer his questions.
No he’s not. In fact he’s the OPPOSITE. The rest of the reporters around him suck cry baby tort’s dick and dont want to get in his way, while Brooksie doesnt take his shit! Brooksie has a job to do and that job is to get as much info as he can to the Ranger Fan. If part of that info is grumpy Torts being a baby then so be it.
@@kobyschechter8163 Not sure his tactics work in this era. Asking overpaid athletes to improve or try harder can fall on deaf ears. Love the videos with he and Brooksie
Torts: "have you ever fought before?" Brooks: "yeah, I used to fight my little sister but I stopped doing that bcause she would kick the crap out of me!"
I might say: "do us all a favor and take a slow boat to handful of doystville." When Vin first came to L.. A. he hadn't lost his Brooklyn accent and he'd say a player would be "tired of waiting...backs out and picks up a handful of dirt." But it always sounded like "doyt."
I love part when the random guy that laughs after Torts says "You probably got beat up at the bus stop most of the time" and Brooks looks to see who it was.
Larry Brooks just needs to shut his mouth. He never puts facts in his articles just tries to put info in it that will get people to read it. Why he writes for the New York Post I don't know. But Hockey fans shouldn't take his articles seriously.
Love the google translator on this. "he said I'm not taking any intention of questions if you have a flawed..... why reach out to be normal election on June three"
You get the mind reader award of the year. Before I saw your comment I was thinking "it's probably not a good idea to go at torts if you work in the media and look like a depressed fish, cos it won't end well". I can't make my mind up whether he looks like the last rejected fish at the docks or a bullfrog. He appears to be some kind of weird hybrid lol whatever it is though, it appears to not be able to stop chirping. I'd have had him removed by security secondly because he was disruptive to the other reporters but first and foremost because he's an eyesore lmfao.
@@Vestu I had to edit that one a fair few times. I wanted the burn to be just right lol. If you cook a fish to slow or too fast it ends up ruined!! :) Stay safe and healthy friend.
I just don't get why you guys would stick up for Tortorella in this situation. A reporter has to do what a reporter has to do. The question on all of our minds [those who watched the game] was "why didn't anyone jump in on Carcillo as he was fighting Gaborik?" Brooks asked him that simple question, and Tortorella took out his frustration on him...period.
Torts and Dan Boyle hate Larry Brooks and Bret Cyrgalis but I can tell you right now that I have been reading Larry Brook’s coverage of the Rangers in the NY Post for 25 years and always found it quite insightful. He is quick to learn of rumors and does a good job, when he can, at bringing the fan into the locker room for “gossip”, whenever it avails itself to him. One of the main reasons why I purchase the Post. Brooksie is a Ranger mainstay and Torts is just a guy who spent a couple stints here.
So basically, Brooksie is a man who's spent his life sifting through other people's garbage looking to stir shit, and Torts is a guy who's spent his running hockey teams and doing something constructive for people. I think I got that straighter than you!
no. he asked him that because the reporter wrote a comment about Wade Redden getting in a fight. so it was relevant to the subject at hand. It wasn't a challenge to a fight. If you could follow the conversation you would know that.
Brooksie had to just make himself the story........after Torts made a total ass out of him when he was with Tampa and Johnny told him to "Get the fuck outta here then".
in all honesty. we may have more coverage, but no media here have the balls to ask tough questions like they do in NYC. i doubt anyone will piss him off as much as brooksie did in ny
@nyrangerstjm Larry Brooks has covered hockey for 35 years....I think he knows his stuff. I am a die-hard Rangers fan, and he is a refreshing read. He doesn't drink the kool-aid, and tells it like it is. Dude, getting Lecavelier would be such a mistake that would harken back to the late 90s-early 00's days. Bottom line here, Tortorella needed to answer that question, and answer it with a "yes."
while some sports writers deserve less respect than others, he deserves more respect than this. after all, no media, no jobs for athletes and coaches. or at least their pay is wayyyy less
I’d usually agree with that however that’s Larry Brooks. He’s not woke. He’s been covering NYR for the Post for decades now. Disliked by a lot of people due to his no filter Ranger ideologies, but at the end of the day the world of Ranger hockey would be weird without him. A legend in his own way.
@@kencedor9020 again, this is true. However the person we’re talking about isn’t the definition of woke lol. He’s just a Rangers reporter for the NY Post who has some harsh takes sometimes.
@6tbonemmvn77 I hate to tell you this, but Larry Brooks is a reporter. As a reporter, he needs to ask questions (which, I'm sure you knew). Larry Brooks asks tough questions, and he had every right to ask about Girardi taking the third man there, as it was a question that was on the minds of many fans watching the game, myself included. The fact that Tortorella doesn't answer makes him look bad. Imagine Joe Girardi refusing to answer why he took Sabathia out in the 6th inning...it wouldnt happen
I actually think he's gonna knock some toughness into those Canucks. The question is, will he be too much of a hardass or will he let the Sedins play their game because the Sedins are skill players, not muck and chop.
Larry Brooks is actually a huge Ranger homer too. but clearly he isn't a torts fan. as an Islanders fan i have gotten a steady dose of him shitting on the Islanders franchise for the last decade. Brooks will be writing articles about the Rags long after Torts has been fired.
