Beaut video. Glad you got to check it out with yr family. I went on a High School camp 50 yrs ago to Motutapu Island. There’s a causeway connecting Motutapu & Rangitoto.

This was such a cool episode! I enjoyed seeing the crater, the views around the crater and the caves. You guys had some interesting weather 😆 but at least you had some sun at the top!

Thanks for watching Renata! Yeah, it’s very close. The museum actually has a volcano simulation room, and the scenario is as if Rangi erupts 😳🙈

I used to work on Rangi. Had I known you were going over there, there's a few cool spots hidden away I would have pointed you towards. That volcanic rock as you called it is scoria. Pretty much just solidified lava

@@BeingBedingfield Maybe not so much secret, but certainly a lot of unknown to the general public spots. One example; a small settlement about 1hr drive from me with an estuary and 5km of near deserted ocean beach. It hasn't grown in population or housing, nor any environtment change since the 1960s.

@@BeingBedingfield My London flatmates (Saffas and Zimbos - early 1990's) were freaking out so much as England dominated 95% of the game. Had to point out that it would only take 1 converted try to make it 13-15, and thats what happened. Then what a penalty Kick from 50 Meters. Never looked like missing!! Pollard is a machine.

Dammit...the weather looks shite! Typical Auckland weather...wet and windy! Now that you have done it, PLEASE do it on a sunny day! Rangi is just like Kilauea (Hawaii) In fact the latter reminded me of Rangi. Is this from the trip you did last month?

Hi Greg, yeah, weather wasn’t great, but the sun did come out every now and again and it was absolutely beautiful 🤗🤗🤗 yeah, we went 3 weeks ago 😊

Yes it appears so, there are baches, and a campground, I attempted to post a URL, but my message got removed. I'd suggest checking it out online :-) Knowing the popularity of Rangi, I would imagaine that it is not cheap?

I do not understand how the ferry companies can justify the ridiculous prices they charge for a short return trip. And boy oh boy do I not miss the “four seasons in a day” s-it” weather of Auckland. You said it “typical New Zealand weather”.
