This video took an INSANE amount of effort to make, so I would really appreciate if you showed some support! Remember to not take this video as gospel, as I ranked the perks with a lot of factors in mind, like meta strenght, potential for being strong when buffed, fun factor, how many fun builds can be made, how many killers can use them... there is a lot. The biggest divide is between tiers, but don't focus too much on one perk being 120 when you would rate it 87. The thumbnail was made by the amazing x.com/B_EMOsRenders so you should check them out for sure if you are interested!
@@Pashachessgm The vast majority of gameplays were, but for Machine Learning and Oppression, and any other perks changed (Except All Ears ) were recorded on the latest patch as seen with Lara Croft!
@@MintSkull I think a good buff to beast of prey is to work with all haste effect, I don't think it would make it meta but it would be a fun change, that also could a video if you were go through all the perks say how you would change them whether it be a nerf or a buff
Just as a quick FYI Mint, Languid Touch actually does tell you when it's in effect, when a survivor startles a crow, the perk has a 10 second CD which means you know you are in range of a survivor
It just shows how BHVR tries to balance by adding more rather than addressing the actual problem. They've been doing good at trying to fix the cote issues with some killers and perks but they come so slow and questionable.
I would say that they only put band aid patches to a open wound. Just like adding the ability for the killers to destroy boons just like survivors doing that same to them they instead gives us a perk to do so. So we need to use up a perk slot to something that they have it in their base kit. Classic "BEHAVIOUR"
In total, I recorded 164 games, 60 of which where recorded for this video in specific after I started editing it and seeing what perks I was missing. The rest were gameplays I did from way back, as I normally use off meta stuff or weird combinations!
@@MintSkull also some perks there's literally 0 reason to have them in your build while talking about em because you can't see their effect, so I appreciate the commitment, is there any perk that while you were trying them all you ended up really liking and surprised you?
@@pinuz4247 Spies from the shadows, altough I used it in the past, gave me a lot of value. I cannot call it a meme perk! Blood Favor is another example, this perk was legit busted when I used it, there was a match with Vecna I sadly forgot to record where Blood Favor absolutely carried me! Knockout also gave me so much value, that it's insane how this perk hasn't gotten a rework, when it's clearly unhealthy. Surprisingly it's thanks to this video that I found out I didn't use Deadlock for 160 matches. Deadlock was the last gameplay I had to record!
I absolutely love the longer format. Please don't feel pressured to make more of these, but if I do see more tier lists I would think they are very cool! This was prob a lot of hard work, so thank you for making this!!!❤️❤️❤️
Thank you! I might, there are 2 videos I am planning on making that are quite long, but I need the generator glitch to be fixed. The survivor version of this video won't be coming out anytime soon tho 😅
And I am sure there are many more on the perk descriptions, by the end of this video I simply gave up on checking them because the video editing software constantly stuttered anytime I made a change. Same with the music, I really don't care by this point if there is something wrong with it T.T
«You said that a perk called Deadman’s Switch from a hit video game “Dead By Daylight”TM has a total duration of 45 seconds while in reality it only lasts for a total of 30 seconds, rendering this piece of media completely obsolete» - 🤓
I'll be real, Shattered Hope should be base kit for Killer. If a Survivor can break a Hex, the Killer should be able to break their Boon without worrying about them relighting it. It erases the Totem for both sides and I just think that's a bit more fair instead of forcing the killer to equip a perk just to do it.
I'll be the old man yelling at the clouds today. Yes I did start playing in 2018 (I don't have 5 digit hours though). Whispers in my old head opinion is still one of the best tracking perks in the game. You largely hit the nail on the head in the video, but I think it's also important to mention that it's the best rat stealth counter in the game. Maybe its just me, but I feel like ever since distortion has been buffed, people just hiding in the corner of maps has increased like 7x fold, and whispers is the only perk in the game that prevents people from just holding me hostage for trying to get hatch (like you said, people play like their life depends on it). and also ultimate weapon, before was better, but there are still maps where you'll be too far away from a locker to actually get a scream proc, and crouching survivors don't disturb crows so no spies either. I get why you rated it so low, and the list is fantastic overall, but I would've put whispers way higher in like at least the top 50.
Fr, monitor is one of my favorite perks, as the doc was the character I played the most when I first bought the game, not to mention its just a fun perk overall.
Remember not to take every position as firm! I ranked stuff based on a lot of factors, and in my opinion I only used monitor on Myers, Oni, Hag and Chucky. Dark Arrogance can be used with many more, and the builds with it are very fun.
@MintSkull that's fair, sorry if I came across like actually annoyed I'm just kinda saying my opinion, no hate to your opinion. The way I see it is that monitor can work well with a lot of killers and has a lot of duo perk synergies, while dark arrogance actively nerfs the killer, has little value by itself, and generally needs more than one other perk to make it worth it. For example monitor works well with doc and his calm add ons so that he has a near normal static blast and then otherwise he has an extremely small terror radius. It also works with nurses calling, especially on pyramidhead and the unknown, because you see them healing but they are still outside your terror radius, so you can get some really good double hits or give them less time to prerun. That's just how I see it tho, and tho I still personally thing it's stronger than dark arrogance, you mention in your reply that the latter makes up more builds that you find fun, and I can't argue with that because I'm glad you have fun with it. Kinda unrelated but I love your videos, my sister isn't big on dbd but we've watched your killer racist tier list multiple times because it's just that iconic
appreciate that you put the goat of killer perks at nr.1. i remember when i started the game 4 years ago, i was already fascinated by devour, a risky grind to 5 stacks every match and stomp the survivors
Hoarder is good for a challenge where the killer is going against three bots and one player. The killer's task is to have the bots open all chests while everybody has Shiny coins and the killer has hoarder. The real survivor player can't open chests. It is quite a funny puzzle, mainly for ppl who don't know much about bots. It is basicaly about figuring out the correct approach. It is no challenge if you know something about bots and perks, but it was fun to do it for the first time. Something a bit alternative.
I still say that you should have the option to tap snuff to snuff the totem or hold it for a second to crush it, and shattered hope should merely just give the aura reading it already has. It was easy as that, mang.
Yoooo, another rare case of Hex: Devour Hope deliciousness! When it came out i instantly became my favorite Perk. Make Your Choice is also a fantastic addition to H:DH because MYC applies Exposed in a similar way that you get Tokens for H:DH, so you get a Token and can then just hunt down the rescuer for another Token. (And another Exposed if it took long enough for the next rescue.) My only wish for multiple years now is that they change the 2-Token bonus. It's way too niche, it needs to be weak but just more consistent, more influential.
Speaking of bandaid perks, shadowborn is one of those. There is literally no reason why it should do what it does. I still maintain that it SHOULD have made survivors within a few meters of you glow white like with dredge's nightfall because, as the name implies, it shows that your character can see in the dark better. It would help weed out rats, and help people who can't see well like myself. But instead because of Alan Wake's champion of light, they decided to make shadowborn counter specifically that. Despite the fact that lightborn exists giving you immunity AND aura reading. Also, I will say to this day that bloodhound is a good perk. Especially on maps where the blood blends in with the ground. It's one of those things that also can't easily be countered by survivors straight up and help confirm a down, especially if you are not the best of being able to see things. Again, like myself.
Thank you for editing this and making this long form video for us but I have one thing to say Some of these rankings I literally got slack jawed, especially devour hope at 1. Disagree with a lot of this but agreed with some others
the original design of surveillance is by far, still to this day (and probably forever) THE MOST baffling perk design ever released by BHVR. From the moment that you kick the generator, there was 16 seconds of time for the perk to give you any value. This meant that a survivor had to be next the the generator as you were kicking it, and be cocky enough to immediately get back on it, and for you the killer to also realize that the perk worked. like, 16 seconds!?!?? 16!??!?
Number 1: Hex devour hope. The best and most fun perk in the game. Whenever I am not having fun, I just slap it on and now I don’t care about winning. Only getting 5 stacks and doing a mori. This perk is so good it stops my own toxicity. Imma watch the video now, I hope its up there. Edit: Called it!
something to note about surveillance, regressing gens are highlighted in white and with no sound que will turn yellow when progressing again, that kinda works against perks like eruption or call of brine (and some others probably) which any gens affected will be yellow by default not allowing you to use them together, atleast until after eruption happens in that case
13:00 I feel like a way you could fix leverage is reversing it. You start with max stacks and the more hooks you get the weaker it becomes. That way early game pressure can be really strong but the closer you are to winning it lets up a bit
I've gotten a lot of value from Monstrous Shrine. The amount of people that wait until the last possible second to rescue someone from basement is comical. I'll hook someone in basement and then go to the opposite side of the map, not even close to pressuring basement. In whatever MMR I'm in (which I think is pretty good, abt 700 hours 60/40 survivor and killer respectively), I'd say around half the time it results in a full hook state because survivors just hate the basement and will wait as long as possible.
Imo two can play is quite useful, with killers like nemesis or xeno who can hit over pallets if the survivors confused then it’s a free hit, plus it being replaceable works well with penti.
I love Dissolution, it's my favorite perk in the game bc I find it very funny, and honestly it's not run much so most survivors don't even notice the icon when it shows up so when the pallet breaks they get very confused, I love it :]
Also with bloodhound not a good perk can agree with it being low tier but it does have the added affect of being a budget deerstalker in addition to being a tracking perk
Hoarder was actually boarder line OP during the anniversary event since so many survivors would actually do chest, pair that with Franklins and you're constantly knowing locations of survivors
Great video, but something I'd love to see to make it stellar is to show a letter grade for each of the four criteria so viewers can better see why it sits where it does. so one for strength, fun, synergy, and design.
This was originally part of the plan as I started my script by ranking all perks with 5 points for each category up to 20. The only problem is that many perks ended up being higher than I would personally put them, various had the same amount of points, and it was extremely subjective. I decided to just to it flexible!
Weave is really good on twins, with their “spinning top” add on. Spinning Top- hitting a survivor with Victor makes survivors drop their item. Basically a free Franklins, saving you one perk slot for something else.
Actually Thanatophobia and Dying Light work pretty well on Legion, if you combine them and use the Legion Pin add-on that makes survivors, who mend broken for some time. Combine that with at least one aura perk for information and the survivors will have a hard time, once you attack them with your power. Even more effective on maps like Dead Dawg Saloon, which also give you a high mobility, since you can traverse the map much easier while using your power than on indoor maps or large maps. Also Dying Light works well in combination with Furgitive chase, since that perk changes the onsession, so you can get 7 stacks without any kills by hooking everyone twice (the one who's obsession after everyone was hooked twice already).
As 600h player i love using Forced Penance. Its so easy to snowball with it. Btw taking hit when killer carrying a survivor, is also classified as protection hit, so killer have free win.
There was actually a bug 2 years ago that gave insidious a secondary effect, being that it extended the duration of undetectable. Even though it wasn't a big effect, i thought if it increased the duration of undetectable by even just 5 seconds it could be a decent unique perk.
the huntress basement perk is honestly DECENT against sable perks. you know when shes healing yes you could just use nurses also it counters her ritual thing for a free knock. Then iron will got buffed and stridor got reworked to counter so its good on spirit just for that.
I have to say I see why most spirit players would not use stridor, for it was useful since I have my hearing was not good and stridor actually allowed me to use audio in playing spirit
I run Huntress Lullaby almost every match. It can easily cause even the most experienced survivors to miss checks especially when you hit 5 stacks. I almost always hit 5 stacks every game! Even when I don't hit the 5 Stacks different timings confuse survivors easily!
I would say that Fire Up works really well on Trapper! When you get catch someone, it effects the pick up time out of the Bear Trap and it takes advantage of the fact that you're losing gens on Trapper. I've had a lot of success with it, but I know it isn't universally great.
The only way Shattered Hope could be good is if it could destroy dull totems so you can put pentimento on em, but that wouldnt happen cuz you cant design a perk around only being viable with another perk. Unless they make it so every dull totem destroyed adds aura reading of 8m around it or something
I’m not great at Xeno, but I’d like to throw in that since hitting a turret counts as a miss, it gives unrelenting a use… but a great one but certainly a use
As for bloodhound - Some people use color filters to boost red colour and get what this perk does, and BHVR finds it legit for some reason. This alone make this perk worse than even Predator.
2 things come to mind then watching this vid 1. I LOVE playing against Hex devour hope. sometimes i see a totem and if it glows it goes and see how i basically saved the ass of all of us just by cleansing this one. but also the time then its revealed is appropriate. yes this will be the fourth hook since the instadown is revealed after the third stack and now the killers gonna hook again. if he gets 1 more: its morbin ... i mean Mori time. its so intense finding this one totem with the scare of being instadowned and you drop everything to find this damn thing 2. that scalie joke.... takes one to know one right mint?
Reworks/changes to the lowest rated perks because i want to see them in pubs Shattered Hope- 15s aura read to reveal any survivor who has any boon perk equipped, regardless of whos boon the killer breaks, still breaks totem Beast of Prey- starting a chase with an injured survivor reveals their aura for 3 seconds Predator- survivor's now leave scratch marks when slow vaulting or slow exiting a locker for 3 seconds after Hoarder- just add the reduced item rarity back and its fine, also make it work on special item pls Septic Touch- survivors who heal another survivor 32 meters away from you, will scream, and suffer from blindness and exhaustion if they separate more than 8 meters, for 60 secs Unrelenting- this one can stay bad Stridor- its fine imo Bloodhound- survivor's blood pools become distinct from each other, so survivor 1 bleeds red blood and survivor 2 bleeds orange and so on Shadowborn- while not in chase, survivor's who keep you in line of sight for 2 second, will be revealed by killer instinct for 3 seconds Insidious- secondary effect, start the trial undectable for 20 seconds Hangmans'- increase the time it takes to sabotage all hooks by 2 secs, aura read from scourage hook increased to 16 meters Undone- missed healing skill checks also count toward tokens Territorial- remove the 32 meter requirement but its fine as is imo Leverage- gain tokens by hooking survivors, max 6 tokens, at 2 tokens, unhooked survivors suffer from mangled for 20s at 4 tokens, unhooked survivors suffer from broken for 20s at 6 tokens, unhooked survivors suffer from incapacitated for 20s
If they gave Insidious an effect like Lethal but it just makes undetectable effects last a bit longer on top of what it already does that could be a good buff.
Iron Grasp and Agitation also work very well on killers with slow movement speed, like Nurse or tier 1/scratched mirror Myers, since they are both slow and if you have the nearest hook sabotaged, you can guarantie that they'll just wiggle out your grasp til you get to the next hook. Iron grasp also works well in combination with Starstruck and Awakened Awareness. But the best combination is with Mad Grit since I had it quite often that survivors swarm you to not get towards the hook, but you can counter them by hitting without cooldown and a stop to the wiggle progress for 4s.
I kinda wish they would make an alternative terror radius increasing perk to distressing. One where it starts out weaker, but gets stronger than distressing as time goes on. My idea would be. Rising Terror: Each time you hook a survivor gain 1 token (up to a max of 4). For each token your terror radius increases by *x amount*. I didn't know what amount it should be but ideally i would want it to be an amount which makes it so at 2 tokens it would be similar to distressing. Then 3 and 4 tokens would be a bigger increase than distressing. I don't see it being meta but i could see it being used in some fun gimmick builds.
stridor only value is locker because both injured (and usually healthy) survivors you can hear more clearly in the lockers before you open them but this is from personal experience using the perk
idk if it would change ur rating much, but DMS was nerfed to 30 seconds a while ago, I think it's taken a pretty big hit, -15 seconds is pretty huge imo.
There are a lot of perks that are bad, that I love to use. I've used unrelenting on deathslinger and spirit (because I'm bad at her) and almost no one expects it
I use Devour Hope and Unforseen on nearly all killers. In my personal opinion if I was playing survivor and am going to lose, I’d much rather go out to a cool mori then die on hook
Deerstalker should be higher for the fact that it can't be countered by distortion. I think residual manifest and maybe shadow step are the only counters.
I like Hex: Thrill of the hunt in full hex builds because, even if the survivors break your totems, they waste a significant amount of time doing it (28 seconds).
