Yeah, the only way to get it is by buying the Celestian Spellemental Pack and praying to RNG or farming Drowned Dan, and his mechanics require you to have a high-level player so you have 9-11 pip spells for the code, only those with Scion cards are going to be able to beat him. I really wish they fixed the cheat so that it only went from 1-7. So I got Ship of Fools by buying a shit-ton of Spellemental packs. X( Seriously, I don't know why they made some of these new bosses impossible to beat. I mean, Von Bracken requires you to do the 1,000,000 hit achievement every time or he'll fully heal! X(
For balance nested fury is easily a deck staple, even if your going against an elemental school (you're still gonna one shot because you can blade stack with it and third arc enemies don't have enough health to tank that.) Only reason to use sun serpent is if you have a balance buffing you and you can one shot boss and kill minions at the same time in azteca.
@@walterbishop1697 yeah but for life even before that forest lord was still the best life literally has only forest lord, rat spin, wof and mirage spell and rat spin isn’t easy to get, wof isn’t good for damage at all and the mirage spell aoe is trash
you never need it if you have rat spin. rat spin twice with enchant is just plain better damage. plus you wouldn't blade a ton for mobs anyway. so only bosses might have a better damage scaling with forest lord.
Before they changed the spells, Ra and Powernova basically switched. I wasn’t playing at the time, so I was shooketh when I logged on after the switch and they were different.
RA is only good when helping people and you need to make sure the boss doesn't kill them lol but that doesn't really happen once you are high enough level to one shot the boss anyway.
So, I know it's really only a card on the Kookaburra pet, but Leafstorm is an AoE and extremely useful for Life wizards that don't have Rat Spin (either for spending crowns or if they are not high enough of a level to obtain the crafting recipe). Just figured I would add this one in to your list since it is an AoE and decently useful (also if your Kookaburra has crit, this spell is fantastic in the lower worlds of the game). Great list otherwise! I definitely agree on Snow Angel being annoying to use, but when you get the spell it is pretty useful for a while until you get bosses that are just better to kill in fewer rounds due to cheats. Currently questing through on my fire at the moment. From azteca through the point where I got raging bull, I used sun serpent nearly every boss fight. Worked really well for me, better than I expected.
Fire dragon after the buff is insane, it has a base damage of almost 1000 no other 7 pip comes even close to that and it’s damage is on par with almost 10 pip spells.
mystic colossus is sooooo good! I keep it in my boss deck, it's literally 65 less damage than orthrus and will break a myth shield if a boss uses one. obviously I still keep orthrus in deck. But, if the boss uses a shield, I'm definitely glad I have my mystic in deck.. more common than you think! Definitely a situational spell in my eyes.
By the time you get nested fury you have enough pierce to not worry about enemy school. Plus the elemental blades actually work on it for more stacking/higher % than balance blades. It should be a deck staple.

Overall agreed, although there are a couple things I'd move around. The first is Mystic Colossus. I'd personally put it under situational since if the enemy legion shields or mass towers, it will remove that shield on ALL enemies. The second is Scald. Your explanation was good for it, although (while there isn't) if there was a spot for both Situational and Best of the Best, I'd put it in both. P.S. Glad you're feeling better bro and respect for still uploading.
Mystic colossus is by far a Situational one because in mirror lake farming, you don't even have to wait for all the enemies to die. you can just first turn colossus for a massive hit. or you can one shot the spiders at the end of mirror lake with it. you can't use dog on first turn so in some RARE cases, Mystic is pretty darn good.
0:18 actually I'd say it's a great video idea. About the teir listing: Sound of Musicology and Glowbugs should be switched because Musicology is the strongest aoe in game when upgraded fully and it gives a blade when you crit which is basically all of the time Powernova and Nested Fury should be switched for basically the same reason. On avg Fury does 900 damage which is up there with Glowbugs and Musicology, but for a balance to be doing that much and have elemental blades to power it up more along with their reg universal blades is definitely good Mystic Colousus should be at least situational because Mystic is still myths 2nd strongest aoe only by like 80 I think and takes off a tower or myth shield, that would otherwise make you not kill. This is very similar to Snack Attack with removing the weakness and I as a death main use it all the time when I have a weakness on me
As a level 97 myth main, I am so happy I heard someone talk about how pointless earthquake is except for the utility aspect of removing charms and wards. Literally just one more pip and I can double my damage it just becomes a bit of a moot spell at some point.
About Wings of Fate at the end, I don't think I've run into a single person who uses Wings of Fate in a fight. The damage is so small that the heal just is not worth it.
Excited for the future aoe spells :D I really wonder how much longer this game will last and what level it'll stop at. Imagine being level 200? Crazy to think about it ever getting there.
by that point maybe 200 will have new magic we never heard of before? I'm thinking a new type of energy we can collect and start using spells that each of those pips is 5 or 6 pips, meaning spells will be insanely powerful.
Yeah people keep saying that Wings of fate is an absolutely terrible spell but they forgot to take healing into account. The thing that makes Wings of fate different from all DoT spells is the healing.
I'd still say the use of it is situational because it breaks universal traps. so you really only want to use it against shield, or low levels (but why not use forest lord at that point?) or even rat spin if you learned it. or in some rare cases, a cheating boss that removes even protection traps.
correction, Ship of Fools bottom spellement path does more damage at max than rat spin. But who is grinding or paying for more than just the spell unlock for both of these? haha With the spellement drops from the new fairgrounds peril event, maybe in a year people will have full unlocks on every spell. edit: this is true now, not when you posted this
Just wanna point out that shadow aoe’s should probably be a bit higher, my reasoning being carrying them In your minion deck, when you do get a shad first turn you can just kill, does more base than 4 pip spells and don’t have to wait extra turn for 7 pip, I often use mystic in my minion and boss deck for this reason, if ya got 3 enchant 4 pip 7 pip and shadow aoe in minion deck with a berserk or something questing tends to go quite smoothly

I'm mega late to the party but I find some of these kinda funny because pet variations are better for some of these spells. Like Avenging Fossil specifically is better in the pet because it loses like 70 base damage but it's 3 pips less lol
I know you probably intentionally skipped pet spell aoe's or other gear spells like spino but i'd like an honorable mention for Snowball Fight the 3 cost ice spell aoe that does a bit less damage than normal blizz but sets up an ice trap on every enemy for follow up hits. That said ice isnt really a hitter anyway though so. *shrug*
Pre rework i would disagree with mystic colossuss at one point it was the best myth aoe but post re work i do agree and i think we can say the same for pretty much all of the shadow spells at this point the 7 pip aoe's are just better unless your ice and balance
2 years late to the party here. Tatzlewurm Terror's lower spellement path does change it from confuse to +40% myth trap on all enemies, would that change the rating?
Idk why dot aoe spells are underrated. Snow angel and volcano are highly situational i personally use snow angel on shield spammers and it melts through them every round.
Good video. You forgot to include that one fire shadow spell that can split damage between enemies though (scorching scimitars). It’s kinda a situational aoe too. Would’ve liked to hear your opinion on it. Probably belongs in omegalul since the split kills its damage lol
I’ve only really used scorching scimitars as a single hit spell, but it’s honestly not a good one once you get the 6 pip shadow spells. I would say it used to be decent and is now pretty bad.
i do disagree with your dear knight one i think its really good especaly when you have a lot of ememys that dont have a lot of health if you can put traps on the highest hp and blades i see it as rlly good at least for me id putthem as deck staples but thats because i use it a lot especaly under level 80 or 90 i got it pretty late never had luck almost had the time to craft it then i eventaly got lucky in a pack

I mean, sure? I just find that I can hit 2-3 sandstorms in the time it takes to hit nested, which will usually do enough. Ofc, its all situational. Obviously nested is WAY better in a boss situation or a long battle.
I stg earthquake is my least favorite spell in the game. The amount of times I’ve failed a solo boss fight because the enemy uses it right before I hit is honestly absurd.
For my myth earthquake is a staple, not the best but it’s good ol reliable considering it does more damage than humongofrog ever can and the added effect of debuffing by getting rid of all shields and blades are nice for any situation. I do realize this is an unpopular opinion tho
differencce between your rating with deer knight and fire dragon is so funny. Fire dragon has the same problems with damage as deer knight, it does not belong in best of the best.
also it has to do with the relevancy of the spell. Fire dragon is the best fire aoe due to there being few other options. Scarecrow is better than deer knight so deer knight is therefore worse
@@Austin101123 You dont go bottom up you go top down. If each school was an individual list and fire was the topic fire dragon would be top. Theres a reason EVERY fire wizard has it in their deck.
Now, I’ve never played ice before, but I would imagine at a certain point deer knight would be better than blizzard, no? Eventually, you’re not going to finish your fights in 1 turn with blizzard, so I would think it would just be better to blade or trap then deer knight. It has more base damage anyway, so the DOT damage shouldn’t make the fight slower at all, if anything I would imagine it would finish off anyone who didn’t get one tapped. Again, I’m just a humble pyro though so I’m not sure lol that would just be my guess.
The reason why it isn’t is due to how enchants work on overtime spells. When you enchant blizzard it will have around 600 damage with a full enchant, while reindeer knight will only have around 400 because the enchant is split between base damage and overtime. Honestly, it doesn’t make it take THAT much longer, but i would rather one shot than do damage and them die to the overtime just to save a bit of time.
I agree with it except snowball barrage. Bugs. Meteor strike. Wings of fate. Basically. You didn't use the logic you used on bugs for snowball barrage. I get it it can do more but if you asked me how many times I saw ppl using barrage it'd be a small amount. Good on paper. But in reality you are gonna be buffing the fire or storm instead of the ice. If barrage stays in n best of best then bugs should be moved up Meteor strike is just really good. When I see a fire do meteor I know it's going to do 3k+ just tons of damage. I don't think the same when life's use rat even though on paper it can have higher base damage And lastly wings of fate. It's a situational for me. Quite honestly it's bad you won't use it over forest lord/rat 90% of the time. Only during certain fights usually ice or certain bosses that spam multiple tower shields is it used for shield removal to help teammates use their own aoes to actually kill. In a way it's like earthquake for the reason it is used. To clear up shields for your team
If you get the 7 pip sound of musicology, it can do up to 1420 damage with an enchant, and also has the potential to give you a blade. It is the single most powerful AoE in the game, almost as good as glowbugs before it’s nerf
@@TheUltimateRare technically yeah but thats very situational. Snowball Barrage is still an amazing spell though and it really saved the school of Ice. Even an 8 or 10 pip barrage is amazing.
Yeah, because the shield removal isn’t enough to make it good. Enemies only shield sometimes, and when they do i usually have enough pierce for it not to matter. I’m not sitting through a 5 minute spell animation because an enemy has a single shield.

My math was technically right because I was adding enchant to that (80x9=720+300) but I still forgot to add enchant to sirens. Either way you aren’t going to be using a 9 pip spell in this game so who really cares.
You're kind of just saying random things at times.. Tempest does not out damage Sirens at all. 80 x 9 = 720, Siren's damage starts at 765 and goes up to 905. So at 9 pips, Sirens is clearly better than tempest, you should even go for Sirens over a 10 pip tempest.
Kind of? Only counter to this i have is that 90% of the time you would never use a 9 pip AOE. Usually go for 7 / tempest since waiting for that 9 usually takes too long.
listen champ I didnt even finish the video im at fire dragon. completely wrong. One of the worst AOE's by far in this game for PVE. Not getting a full effect from feints hurts dragon too much. out of all the rank 7's, Dragon is the worst by far.
