Ranking ALL The 3D MVs in Project Sekai 

Hi guys! Just wanna let you know that I'm not gonna tell you how I'd rank every new MV that comes out after this video. So you can stop leaving your comments like "What do you think about [new song]?" There's a good chance I'll make another video like this at the 3rd Anniversary so you can wait until then to hear all my silly thoughts :)

My favourite thing about the MVs is that they change how each character dances to show their personality. For example Kanade is always slower because she doesn't have much stamina or how Rui and Shizuku always move more elegantly. If you watch the fixed camera versions you can see just how amazing some of the characters are at performing, like Tsukasa is so fun to watch and my eye is always drawn to Mafuyu. Also, can confirm that oh my god the dancing is ridiculously impressive, I'm a massive idol fan and learn the choreo for so many songs and Ifudoudou and tondemo wonderz kill me every time.

Buriki no Dance being so low hurts me because I love the insane choreography and overall look, plus I am insanely biased towards that song, but I get why it’s lower💀

honestly thanks for mentioning the minor slide leo/need gets 😭 people always rate them so horribly low bc they "aren't moving" and i can assure you honami will not be jumping around as she is playing the drums

I love how Choco Decoration feels...cult-ish? That's a weird way to describe it but that's the word that comes to mind.

I always love to watch the 3d mvs due to all the character details that we get: Saki always bouncing on the background when she doesn't play, Nene's infamously doing one spin in Becoming Potatoes while the others do two, Tsukasa being so extra but always sharp with his choreo, Kanade and Mafuyu giving us nothing, Airi and Mizuki overdancing, Minori sometimes struggling to dance in heels in Kakurui Pierrot, Rui deciding he's too good to do the choreo... Songs that I'd like to have mvs are: Telecaster B boy, Doctor Funk Beat, Marshmary, King, Jackpot Sad girl, Miracle Painting, Salamander and all the april fools covers they have

i rlly like how everyone have differences in how they dance, even within their own teams. rui doesnt jump as high as tsukasa tends to do, nene isn’t as active as the rest are. its really cool and makes them feel real

The way you describe every mv is so good you noticed detail i never thought about before

I'm a giant Nightcord fan but I do have to agree with a lot of their MVs being on the lower end lol. Personally I think it's less a group issue and more of an issue of what songs they choose to give 3ds for the group... The 3dmvs are almost always reserved for Niigo's slower songs with the fast ones getting 2ds. Like in recent memory both Bug and I Nandesu were both fast songs getting 2dmvs with Kimi no yoru wo kure being 3d... I can't help but feel they avoid the faster songs for 3dmvs because they want to keep Kanade and Mafuyu's personality traits in their dances and it looks better to not have them move much in a slower song. Great video btw, I like these ranking videos best when they're really in depth like this one.

some random thoughts I had throughout the video: • I was surprised voices was so low, but that might just be bc I’m usually hypnotized by how much outfit glow effects are cranked up in that song. glad you mentioned the honami camera shake though bc I love that part • not wanting to make the mvs “too sexy” apparently doesn’t stop akito from that stupid little hip thrust move in ifuudoudou • on a related note, once you notice that little air-punch move akito does, you won’t be able to stop noticing it in SO. MANY. MVS. • ego rock was robbed • rui is TERRIBLE at jumping and it always makes me giggle, especially when he’s next to tsukasa who always looks like he’s literally shooting for the stars • tsukasa might actually be the best dancer in the whole cast. those moves are SHARP • I’m conflicted about lost one’s weeping because on one hand, I dislike how rin seems so cheery in a song that definitely isn’t…but on the other hand, she’s really cute! • god I love the choreography in villain. one of my favorite details that’s only visible in the live version: mizuki does the motion for “X or Y” in reverse, contrasting the lyrics. very interesting considering in the context of the song, that line likely references chromosomes. • I think it’s actually pronounced “passionate three dot sensation”. yeah, idk why it’s like that either, but that’s what the producer said…I just say “sensation”. • I wish they did “props” in mvs more often, becoming potatoes is so good. • I love how mafuyu looks so unengaged in idsmile, a song with a meaning that doesn’t resonate with her at all. and I like how the choreography is more polished than usual but some of the performances fall flat (kanade and mafuyu), it really comes across as something mizuki came up with and begged the group to join in • god, journey is amazing. the DETAILS. the way kanade gets startled (by the speakers probably) and almost falls off the stage? the way tsukasa does the same thing but because he just got way too into the dancing? • I think the fact that they’re doing solo 3dmvs for virtual singers now is really cool!

i love how mafuyus choreography in idsmile is off and slower too because the song is about identity. mafuyus is struggling with her identity and who she is and the choreography reflects that because she doesn't understand the song so she's more confused looking

I think wah wah world works so well because kohane and minori are close friends, so its pretty nice to see them performing together

I like how each of the outfits in these are unique and it kind of makes me reflect on how much effort must go into each of these videos along with the choreography and having things match up with the themes. I don't know the history behind the characters, but it also shows a glimpse to their personalities, and it makes it interesting.

I feel so bad for Leo/need being super low most of the time 😭😭 but more more jump being so high is so deserved they are awesome

53:05 perfectly communicated considering it's a song that talks about borderline Splitting... It shows the intensity of the emotions the group feels.

The way you explained aishite aishite aishite was amazing, it really showed how amazing this music video is and how important it is.

I would love a Happy Halloween 3DMV, i imagine a haunted house stage with some ghosts flying in the background with the girls having new Halloween costumes

I really just wish that they would give the wowaka songs original mvs like the ones they were released with. ESPECIALLY ROLLING GIRL!

For the Voices thing with Luka and Rin, the producers are given which characters are in it but it’s the producer can use any Vocaloid they wish (like Bug using Len instead of Miku)

Karakuri Pierrot recognition finally!!! I love the spinning motions in that mv so muchhhh The stage design and lighting designs are so good too aaaaa (Aside from the marionette outfits, Shizuku’s 2nd anniversary lim outfit looks REALLY good in that mv too!!!)

Also ik it's not really the point but I'm obsessed with how much themeing villain has with mizuki and mafuyu. For mizuki, it's more direct with her story being very intertwined with the songs lyrics about being queer and gender dysphoria. With mafuyu it's more themeatic, were as mizuki is made to be a "villain" for existing as someone LGBTQ, mafuyu is made to be a "villain" by her societal expectations. Great video too!

Seeing this ranking and seeing how our opinions differ and align (despite finding Forward as one of my least favorite songs in the game the MV more than makes up for that with An’d character work, Aishite Ashite Aishite’s MV getting the love it DESERVES, though I will always enjoy Fragile cause I’m too bias for VBS) and also seeing details I had not picked up on before, it was a lot of fun watching this!!! This is the kind of analysis I wish I saw more from the Sekai community and the amount of effort shows!!! Great work!!! And yes I will always be salty that Sekai basically decided to say “Ok Boomer” to the adult virtual singers (Meiko is one of my favorites Vocaloids as a whole not just of the Crypton characters how dare they not give her as much screen time as the Kagamines-) and oh I wish Sekai didn’t just confirm that they won’t be featured much at all for the however many years to come this game goes on...

God personally watch over MMJ as they choreograph and shot Angel's Clover, If, Shoujo Rei and Pierrot. And YES. ALL four of them.

The children record video refrences the animated MVs to the original KagePro songs pretty well Im biased i love Kagepro. I love the mv.

I loved this whole analysis especially your closing thoughts for each group. Honestly the leo/need problem seems like theres a super easy fix- just cut away from the main performance for a couple of scenes. Maybe some little moments of the girls interacting or contemplating their instruments or something depending on the song. It even makes sense if in-universe their mvs are their music videos. Most music videos aren't just a band at their instruments. I also think it'd be neat to see Saki on a keytar, she's the most energetic member so it'd be cute if she got to dance around a little more.

Im really excited to see the new version for this, especially since the other virtual singers are getting solo mvs now. also basically the songs get completely new stages now... or well they do feel very unique all the time

I love this video but I can’t help but to love EVERY nightcord mv, even the bad ones, I just love them so much and I love their slow arm movements and the visuals even if some of them are kinda boring😭😭😭

As someone that fell in love with more more jump since I first started to play I am so proud on how good their mv become each years that pass !

i absolutely love this video so much. as someone who just loves taking screenshots in both sekai and project diva, i notice a lot of the things that you have pointed out and its good to finally see someone notice those things! i absolutely would love to see another video like this in another 2 years or so. great work!

Great video! I love seeing people do detailed analysis of the MVs, there's just so many fun details that are really easy to miss like the camera effects in Ghost Girl. Also agreed on the Cup Noodle songs, I hope we'll eventually get more mixed unit songs with 3DMVs

Talking about all the small details and what makes a good MV is really cool! You do an awesome job at explaining a lot and it’s really entertaining too, and it’s fun to learn so many things about the MV’s I’ve watched so many times

my favorite thing about Leo/need MVs is when one of their instruments isn't in the song so they just stand there... menacingly

If there was a song i wish had a 3D-mv, it would be Dance Orchestra(I might be very biased since I like this song a lot) I will forever be disapointed that they didn't take the chance to make them dance on a song literally about dancing. (And I guess it would be nice for Luka as well since she hasn't apeared in any WxS 3D-mv yet.)

thank you so much for not putting every leoni MV at the bottom just because "they don't move enough" like so many people do. they're a band, of course they can't run and jump around when they have instruments to play 😭 also FINALLY SOME RECOGNITION FOR MIRAI'S 3DMV. IT'S ONE OF MY FAVORITE VBS 3DMVs. overall i obviously don't agree with every single one of your picks but i really enjoyed hearing your explanations for them, great video 👍 while they aren't as distinct from each other, i would love to hear your thoughts on all the 2DMVs in a similar format in the future!

flyer is actually my favorite 3dmv in the game and honestly that's purely because i'm terribly biased and len is so freaking adorable in that one

i want a l/n song where all yhe girls have marching band instruments and move around (they can have hona on snare or bass and toss in like meiko or something for the other, ignore the symbols) ik its a messy idea but itd be soooo fun to see them move

Oh this was an absolute joy to watch! I love your Sekai videos fiercely because I always feel like I learn SO much watching them. When actually playing I find it's pretty easy to stick to my favourite songs and forget to actually watch the MVs later, so it was such a delight to see them all showcased and broken down like this. And you had such good takes as well! I was so excited to see the top video for each group, and there were some nice surprises I haven't even heard yet so I'm hyped to go and watch them myself now. Also, the colour detail you mentioned about ID Smile really blew my mind! I ADORE that song - when the event first came out I ended up crying through the emotion of it all, and I can't believe I missed such a great signal that was staring at me the entire time.

my absolute FAVORITE has to be drop pop candy. i love the song (sekai and og), i love their dance, and kohane is always so cute 😭 they do an AMAZING job at dancing to what the lyrics say, like luka doing cat paws at the beginning, or kohane making her hands look like rain ❤ and the city buildings jumping like in the og song mv is always so cute. some parts feel clumsy which goes really good with the song and its my overall favorite

i like the stage decorations in leo/need the most. i like song specific decorations always, but the decoratons in leo/need dont seem like someone put them there on purpose, they seem like direct manifestations of the girls feelings during the song

Since the start of the video, I was looking forward for how high shoujorei would place and waiting for it to show up some time, so glad that it got the recognisation it deserves

I don’t have much well reasoned opinions on my disagreements, but I’d still like to share anyway Newly Edgy Idols being ranked low hurts so bad☹️ it’s not even my favorite but it’s a big soft spot for me because it used to be my favorite in my early days of playing and i was absolutely obsessed I’m glad it wasn’t ranked lower, but I’m still sad At God’s Mercy was ranked low because of how much joy the choreo brings me, I just find it really fun However, I am super happy with the high rankings of some others I’ve always loved Niccori Survey Team as a whole, the song itself and the music video because of the super energetic, happy feeling to it I absolutely love Lost One’s Weeping, and the music video matching the pissed off nature of it makes me feel *euphoric*, it just makes me happy that they knew exactly what they were doing with it and how to convey the feelings For Flyer, I have no other reason than the song paired with the music video bringing me so much joy Same for Dance Robot Dance, Chururira Chururira Daddadda, Mirai, ID Smile (literally clapped my hands when I heard your ranking for it), Tondemo Wonderz, Shoujo Rei, and Aishite

ABSOLUTE W. I always find most More more jump 3DMV’s to be absolutely stunning, and Karakuri Pierrot is no exception. I love the lyrics, and they definitely do tell a story with them. The choreography is astonishing in Karakuri pierrot aswell. While it may not fit more more jump as a group, it works, and i’m livin’ for it.

Yea Composing the Future is very laggy for me too and so is Stage of Sekai😵

I noticed recently but in IDSmile (idk if it was in the old one but its in the 3rd anni onward one) there are mirrors that throughout the entire mv will only focus on Mizukis outfit not their face or any other part of them - which evident in stories and the animated episode is the thing that Mizuki is often picked on for from their classmates (Hey Akiyama why do you dress like that? - N25 anime episode) showcasing that people around them only see whats on the surface (the clothes) rather then going deeper and learning more about Mizuki as a person (their face, body)

I absolutely love Project Sekai's 3dmvs, but I'd be lying if I said I still didn't prefer the ones in Project Diva. The thing I've noticed that's missing in Project Sekai is the use of props, like how miku was chained up in black-rock shooter, and I also miss more dynamic scenes like miku running up the spiral stairs in rolling girl. I hope that this 2nd anniversary marks the start of even better 3dmvs, although I do understand that a lot more detail is able to be put into Project Diva 3dmvs because most of them feature only one or two characters (something I've noticed the Project Sekai team has avoided doing with songs like fixer, aun no beats, and remote controller). So cheers to new possibilities for the pjsekai team

I think my favorite would always be the world hasn’t even started yet, along with Id smile. The way that it looks like they did it themselves makes sense to me since when their songs are born they aren’t told what to do, so I like most sekai songs tbh. I love the first few scenes of idsmile and how it shows the neon signs, I also like how their moving all around the stage and the moves just make me so happy

Now i will wait for ranking all the 2D MV's in Project Sekai

tbh, one reason I like Bitter Choco decoration is the detail of the guy on the plate, relating to the original mv and the cover art of the song, which I think is really cool!

So uh fun fact, the start of 12 fanclub isn't actually a background picture, it's a red box that takes place inside the actual stage that they are in the end. Just putting it out there haha

I want Leo to get MTV type music videos, or just like the feel of older music videos. It would be better than them just playing and help them stand out more, which is probably why I like roki so much (I don't spam it in coop) I also love ifuudoudou and cinema cause its cool I love Charles too cause I'm an Ena simp

I disagree with you on saisei, reborns 3D mv is so so pretty and ive never seen a 3D mv Like it before I do however agree on the choreography part, but that’s just niigo for you But I absolutely love how you put aishite and Karakuri so high, I remember when I first saw aishites mv I was so mind blown at how creepy and off putting it was and the way the lyrics creep up is just 🙏🙏 Karakuri also has such perfect lighting and the choreography is so mesmerizing to watch
