Ranking All The Hot Toys Released in 2023

Totally agree with you about the bad batch being future grails.I was on the fence about getting them,but have now bought Crosshair,Hunter and Echo and have Wrecker and Tech on order.

Advanced suit 2.0 is future grail 100% other than that great list

The only Hot Toys I purchased in 2023 was AOTC C-3P0. I am a mean, lean collector. The only HT's figure I have my eye on in 2024 is AOTC Anakin.

I actually disagreed with most of this list, but that’s a good thing. Love coming over here to see a different approach.

Favorite Figure of the Year is one that I don't think I'll ever have the opportunity to buy, since Hot Toys decided the main looks for one of the most hyped games of the year should be limited releases 🙄 Really hoping that we get a re-release of Advanced Suit 2.0 and Upgraded Suit 2.0

Imo, grails may not be a thing for every collector, especially with the cost of collecting 1/6 figures. Like the whole saying of one man's trash is another man's treasure, what one person considers a grail may not necessarily be a grail for the others. Like let's say Yondu, it looks great, but even as a Marvel collector, I don't really care for it. If you buy something because a number in the community agree that it is a grail, but you end up not liking it, then it's a waste of money. I'm a believer that you buy what you really want. No need to be pressured that you are missing out on a "grail".

I love Ahsoka, but it deserves to be in the Meh category based on the headsculpt alone. I love the outfit and the base etc but the sculpt just was not it for me. I look forward to the new one because the sculpt is sooo much better

Pretty good and agreeable ranking overall. But, your bias for Star Wars and against Marvel was just a tad too prevalent. Some Star wars stuff should have been lower, some Marvel should have been higher. You're way off on Kate Bishop, should be higher. That stealth iron man and the comic origins are all sideshow tier. Koska Reeves is HOT! Other than those exceptions I was in 100% agreement.

I am getting a lot of Star Wars figures however I won't be getting the Bad Batch due to budget and space. I feel sad that they will be grails but won't have them but we can't have it all.

1/4 scale Fett definitely deserves to be higher - it’s an incredible figure with one of the best head sculpts.

The thing with Future Grails is just about availability, that is heavy reliant not only in the demand of it, but also the offer. If you ask me, Sam Wilson is not something many people want because the show was not something big in terms of audience acceptance. We don't know the production batches tho. In my case, I've zero interest on him. Same for me with the bad batch figures or moonknight for example. Indeed in general the "tier list" is based on hype for the character. May be in the asian market the Shang Chi figures are Future Grails although I wouldn't pose them in my collection even for free, but I wouldn't pose Fennec Shand either. The 100WB Batman was just horrible ... that mix of blue on Bale's suit ... was just bad .. a total sideshow for me.

Genuine question, not being a smart ass. Outside of limited pieces, you truly believe grails will be a thing? I am more pessimistic than you. PS carnage is top tier if you get him in hand. Top 5 release of 2023.

I found your reasoning for some of your rankings very inconsistent. Sometimes you'll rate a figure based on how good/bad the figure is, irrespective of the source material. Other times you rate the figure based soley on the source material. 2:21 "Wonder Woman 84. A would-buy. "Obviously the movie was terrible. The figure was pretty good," yet Thena was given a MEH rating based purely on the movie and not the figure Also I have to strongly disagree with Shang Chi and Wenwu. Shang Chi deserves to be at least in "Would Buy" category BTW. have Yelena and her sculpt is actually pretty accurate. More so than the Ahsoka figure is, of Rosario Dawson
