Ranking All The Senran Kagura Games 

Maybe I need to rename the channel to "YellowDollarSign" because this is the second video in a row to get demonetized. Normally that doesn't happen too often, but two times in a row is disappointing considering the amount of work I put into this video. Now that I've played Shinovi, Estival and Burst:R, I've got to say that the combat in Burst:R feels the best to me, also the transformations and general animations look fantastic and I absolutely love the attack indicators. The price for getting the full roster is stupid, but I guess having a full roster is really worth it. Also, I love the soundtrack, and I'm glad it's included in the Deluxe Edition.

I'm right there with you with Peach Beach splash. That's probably my favorite game in the series despite it being a spinoff. Estival versus is my favorite traditional senran game though

We're not all that far apart in our rankings. 1)Shinovi - Combat and performance aren't terrible. Story is okay. Character backstories are ace. Probably the healthiest balance of fun, amount of content, and story in the series. 2)Estival - Combat and performance both improved to me. Shinovi was super fun but super exploitable and that is what a lot of people liked about it (IE Dash cancel everything,) where EV forced me to play as if the characters were actually unique and get more into the unique flows of combat. Story is lacking in comparison however and characters suffer to find a place. 3)PBS - Great new gameplay ideas, locations and decent performance. Middle of the road main story but it some tender moments. Most of the roster suffers to get screen time. More than in Estival. 4)Burst Re;Newal- Best gameplay and visuals to date. New balance ideas for frantic mode improve and vary the experience. Good story. Extremely limited cast and content vs other games, really makes it hard to be as "Worth it" as other games. 5)Bon Apetit - Cool spin-off. Not bad on the execution. Kind of limited, but fun themed CGs and a low price. 6)Deep crimson - Decent story, and decent-ish combat. 3ds really holds it back however, especially the lack of real dual analogue controls. 7)Burst Original- See No.6 but make it double. 8)Peach Ball- Fun light hearted ideas, and pin-ball is... well it's pinball. It's okay. However, for the relatively high cost of admission the game is absolutely lacking in content and replay ability. Possibly the harder game to justify the price of for me personally. 9)Relfexions- A pretty poor tech demo all around. Biggest plus is the models and physics. The price is low, but the way the content is unlocked and what little you get for essentially replaying the entire game 5 times to "truly beat it" makes the whole thing over-stay its welcome to the point of becoming insufferable. And now it comes to my attention I've played a lot of SK games and never realized it before haha. I think a lot of my rankings tend to do with how much we get to know each character in each game, and for that aspect SV always seems to come out on top. Good vid dude!

Estival versus 8 days is amazing. The Ryo sisters backstory is really good. 3 characters in 1 game.

I like Estival Versus more, it has more mechnics than Burst Renewal like the double aerial rave, but PBS was pretty good as well.

I just downloaded Senran Kagura Burst on 3DS and I love it. I love the story and backstories of the characters. I also love 2D Beat em ups. The framerate struggles but is not as bad as people say. I do understand that if you started on PC it would be hard to go back to this game but this is my first Senran Kagura game and I love it.

Thanks for this video. I didn't know about the PC version of Estival Versus missing a feature. Your insights about the pinball mechanics of Peach Ball are much appreciated.

My fav is Peach Beach Splash but I liked Estival Versus as well. Still waiting for a sale for Reflexions and Peach Ball.

Yes, its here. . . or maybe iam just late xO Yet again a very good tier list, i think the first game SKBurst has side scrolling gameplay is because of that 2D game Ikkitousen for PSP as i recall(which explain why SKEV has those characters as DLC) and yes its a good thing now that they decided to make the game into more actual 3D-ish so that you can go around the map.

I haven't played all these but I agree with most of what you said! Burst Renewal really is vivid and sharp, much better looking than Estival Versus. That and the speed really make it alot more enjoyable. Peach Beach Splash is surprisingly fun and I found the Pinball game to be fun too. I'm not great at pinball in the first place but I didn't find it too "hand holdy" I could tell the physics were not AMAZING but it still felt serviceable.

Tysm for this tier list, I’ve neglected buying the Senran Kagura games because the gameplay didn’t interest that much when I first looked at it, but as I kept looking at different gameplay’s it honestly looks really fun even with the fan service. Also neglected the game because I live with family...but I’ve decided I will get the game anyways just have to choose the right times to play it xD. Recently just ordered Peach Beach Splash since it interested me the most and will be buying or order “Estival Versus & Re:Newal”

It's a shame that Senran Kagura is dead. They could have brought so many great games. I always wanted a JRPG in this world with the characters. I strongly doubt whether the 7even will ever appear. In any case it will be a completely different game than what you wanted .. Thanks Sony and Marvelous ...

Mmm Interesting opinion on the ranking. I also have played almost all the SK games and to be honest My favorite is SK 2 Deep Crimson for the 3DS. I really like that kinda tag team mechanic and is still a good story. Oh and is kinda hard at the begining That's a plus for me! And my favorite battle in all the games is the final shodown of Homura and Asuka on Shinovi vs

my experience is somewhat limited, ive only played burst, shinovi, estival, peach ball, reflexions, and bon appetit, ill just go top to bottom 1: peach ball, i love senran kaguras characters, i love pinball, and the 5 characters they chose are some of my favorites, also by the time it came out i was kinda burnt out on hack and slash gameplay 2: shinovi versus: played it immediately after burst and loved the upgrade (vita version if you're curious. my pc is garbage) i actually did every side mission it had and liked playing it a lot, it was also fun to play it in class and wait for someone to look over my shoulder and ask: "dude, wtf" also double character roster 3: estival versus, its fun but i find the gameplay alterations a tad annoying and it makes missions drag out, loved the story well enough even if i haven't beaten it yet, but by the time i got it i was burnt out from 100% shinovi, probably get back to that soon 4: bon appetit, fun rythem game but doesn't have much longevity 5: reflexions, got boring after like 1 set of dreams, probably never touch it again unless i feel like feeling up ryouna (shes my favorite) 6:burst, i bought it as a joke at first, "lol 3d titties on nintendo" but then fell in love with the characters and gameplay, but now i find it impossible to go back to it, especially since we have renewal

I love this series. Because the game combinate my two best things I love: the epic fighting sences and the perfect fanservise. And I have a question: You saw the two anime what is made about the game?[Ninja Flash, and Shinobi Master] I want to finish the Shinobi Master part.

I gotta try the beach game I guess but for my Estival is the best one of the series. It has the most content/characters IMO and the story isn't something I really care about when I play these games. I bought burst renewal w.e recently but the lack of enemies on screen and stiffer combat really don't sit well with me...its like it tried to take itself more serious as a fighting game when I feel thats the opposite direction it should go in. The characters felt more unique in estival to me where they all feel samey in Burst because well you're forced into this specific playstyle because of how the game is designed. I legit smiled ear to ear and couldnt stop laughing and giggling and enjoyed estival greatly. Burst felt like more of a chore to get through for me and lot of the characters I really enjoyed playing in estival aren't in burst... in fact it's hard to justify Burst at all to a new player to the SK franchise because it's so lacking compared to estival despite costing more. I'd rather them stick to the more over the top Dynasty warriors format and not try to box peoples playstyles in like they did with burst. You could basically do w.e the fuck you wanted in estival whether you just wanted to spam or create complex combos or dash cancel everything it made it more fun and fluid thus making the natural repetitive nature of the game less annoying. Think what makes dynasty warrior games sell and apply it to SK not turn it into a fighting game no one wants that IMO and if enough actually do then make a stand alone side scroll fighter spinoff.

Ive seen 2 came out on 2018 a versus and estival. But in the end of the names it has “best up” what does that mean?

Renka is no.1 girl :-) I've only played the PC SK games but they've all been really fun. Anyone else think Bon Appetit is really hard though? maybe I just suck at rhythm games. I've been playing Nitro+ Blasterz recently as well and Homura is a beast on that game.

And I very much disagree with your ranking. My ranking would be something like this- S Shinovi Versus Senran Kagura 2 A Estival Versus Burst Re:Newal B Bon Appetit C Peach Ball F Peach Beach Splash Reflexions Nothing for D rank. Though I imagine I were to play the original Burst I'd probably put it there. Peach Beach Splash and Reflexions. I just flat out dislike. I found them just be boring slogs. And I just didn't find them very fun at all to play. Senran Kagura 2 and Shinovi Versus have my favorite stories and gameplay in the series. I have soft spot for rhythm games so I place Bon Appetit at B. Peach Ball is fun for a while has a funny plot but get's old quick.

Why does it have to be so difficult to get into certain series nowadays, especially stuff like Senran Kagura. I like actually owning my games so I don't buy digitally and first game that Im supposed to get into, has game mode missing from it. Videos like these make me want to buy those titles anyways but it's such a hard decision judging by how restrictive Sony is. Even when you look at themes from Senran Kagura, most are missing from EU market and those in japan get censored AFTER people bought them!!

After watching all your SK videos, I finally got to play one, and I started with the first one (storywise) Burst Renewal and, if this is a S rank... I think this series is not for me. I've finished the Hanzo storyline and found most of the cutscenes sooo boring. In fact, I'm skipping all the Hebijo ones. I don't know, I guess these kind of games feel better suited for an ecchi story, at least to me. I discover the Neptunia series through your channel too, and that one I really like (except Super Neptunia RPG 😅) and that kind of silly story is way more enjoyable. PS: also, I HATE Hibari. What an annoying character. She's definetely my least favorite character, and the one I like the most is either Mirai or Yagyuu.

This is just a fanservice game. I feel like this game is meant to play when you are alone...

I love your videos, I also adore all Senran Kagura games and anime, agreed, PBS for me was great fun, followed closely by Burst Renewal then Estival Versus, Bon appetite was also very fun for me as I love as you rightfully pointed out Iron Chef, truly heartbroken that he has moved on after Sony had their me too moment

In terms of storyline, the best one is Deep Crimson, youma monsters were also the main factor of why I love the game. In terms of gameplay, SV and EV takes the cake, with the introduction of several new characters and fighting styles differ. Burst Re;Newal is a good game, but they remove some important features like online and no Mikagura sisters.

Finally someone that loved PBS! I love that game. I played Shinovi versus too, but i didn't like, maybe Estival or Burst Re are better
