Definitely a hard intro. But if by hard you also mean best intro then I'd disagree. NieR:Automata has the best intro in gaming. It's prequel NieR replicant also has an amazing intro but it's much briefer but probably more dramatic given the stark introduction. Automatas however is much more intelligently written considering how the beginning of it connects to the very end of the game and the whole experience in general.

Nah, Doom 2016 imo is the best intro out of all. That elevator scene with Samuel Hayden talking about necessary sacrifices while Doom guy stares at the dead marine, clenches his fist and smashes the button to initiate the title screen and brand new (at the time) At Dooms Gate music by Mick Gordon... absolute classic. Ends with the shotgun reloading to the beat. It was simple and effective without being overdramatic and cheesy, and it clearly told all the players at that moment that "yes, we at ID software understand Doom, and you're about to play an insane reboot."

Hm, Doom 3 it's a very strange era of Doom, it was like a reset of the serie but ir fine wrong, the fans dsliked it very much in His Time, but it's not so bad the Doom essence wasn't fully lost AND it was brave to try new Styles with horror and everything, it's a strange gane but all the comunity reminds him AND the dlc's whit melancholia

I did that with doom eternal, that night the darkness feared me.

​@@christinasavannah7992maybe realize that 1. graphics arent everything 2. doom 64 was meant as a doom port for 64 so makes sense it would keep the same style 3.if you must, 64 is the best looking classic doom, no competition. The lightning in that game was quite revolutionary and allowed for some truly unique visuals we never saw again in the same style and that soundtrack was fucking scary as shit. Doom 64 is a good game, it has some issues imo and its missing a few things due to limitations of the console but overall man, darn good game.

I was already on the fence as soon as I was given a FLASHLIGHT in *Doom.* Doom 3 failed to make you feel like the most feared demon-killer, and instead made you play a horror game.

Yeah me too, I liked the slow pace horror style gameplay more than the over the top madness of Doom Eternal, which is also entertaining, but Doom 3 was more immersive. And I remember, the graphics, especially the lighting was absolutely mindblowing at the time.

Pure horror. Having to switch from your flashlight and weapon over and over again was stressful

​@@Ciffer-1998 I dont like Eternal anywhere near as much as 2016, they literally admitted they watched a guy on YT who played Doom 2016 super fast and with style and went "we want to make everyone like that guy" which is dumb. You shouldnt MAKE people play like that you should ENCOURAGE them to... Ultrakill, for example, you can complete entirely with whatever weapon you want but theres a style meter tied to rankings which makes you come back to replay the levels and do crazy flashy combos to ramp up the style meter... Doom 2016 had vastly more player freedom and its a better game as a result. Ultrakill leads the player with a carrot while Doom Eternal beats them with a stick for not wanting to do what they're told.

Dude, I don’t know what the hell you’re looking for in a Doom game but if it’s not being constantly challenged, on the brink of death, needing every bit of skill and attention to your demon slaying craft, then maybe, just maybe, you got lost in the wrong kinda hell somewhere along the way. 2016 was awesome and a nice reboot to the franchise but once it was done, that was it. Eternal got it right in the sense of being fast, furious, demanding and required some serious skills. The only game I’ve played for months just to practice for the upper difficulty levels. The replayability was almost as good as a PvP game and finally getting that end screen « ultra nightmare completed » gave me the best satisfaction in a single player game EVER! Eternal is better IMO. The best in the franchise.

@@DebasedAnon Doom 2016 was mad easy and got incredibly repetitive after a few playthroughs. Eternal's combat mechanics are so complex that you can play hundreds of hours and still continue improving your skills, and it forces you to get good at all the combat mechanics if you want to beat the game on Nightmare/UN because it's a much harder game than its predecessor

Ye it’s very underrated I played all the doom games except doom 3 until a couple days ago and it wasn’t as bad as people said. People must forget it came out in like 2004 so the graphics obviously won’t be amazing but for its time it had good graphics and animations

When you launch game named "DOOM" you expect to get quick and dynamic gameplay with a lot of demon blood on screen, doom 3 just can't give you this. The problem with horror part is that you have a gun, with which you can kill anyone in seconds. This ability doesn't mix well with horror genre

After this game was made, the perfect version of it came out doom eternal, probably a game similar to doom3 will come out again because the mechanics can be improved, the game is so full right now

In all honesty the whole blacksheep of the series narrative spawned when 2016 was announced. In all fairness the game would have flopped if they did the fast paced deal in 04 as that style was fading out for a slower game capable of consoles.
