Even in commander. Just think of it with the Echoes enchantment, no matter how many cards they have, you could almost always deck them out with the other ulamog.
@@TheDiesoul if I'm right then you can counter him while she is on the stack 🤔 If he is already on the Battlefield then you are right that you can't cast things on him
Played correctly, emmy is the most dangerous in a 4 pod. Functionally wipes most dangerous players board, attacks next biggest threat with all the new guys and whatever you already had laying around, and with your sac outlet and zulaport et al, drains out whatever's left. For 6 mana. Not seeing any downside.
While the new Ulamog looks pretty impressive, posing that much of an ultimatum makes the removal spell and pitching two permanents worth it for the opponent. It often ends up that you're paying 10 mana to exile half a library and kill two random permanents. Meanwhile, the new Emrakul is very strong. Don't underestimate the simple strength of a 12/12 flyer that cost 6 that can't be removed easily. Also, in the worst-case scenario in the 1vs1, it boils down to a board wipe.
@Domo34s My friends are all really good. I got back into playing a couple of years ago after not playing for over 10 years. So I'm still nowhere near as good as they are. And I'm horrible at building decks
My question is, when Kozilek manifests cards from the opponents hands, it manifests them to their side right? Or does it give YOU the manifested cards?
@emergancymagic9278 this rendition of Kozilek is tilted. If you are behind in card advantage from your opponents, you can select two of them and catch yourself up, but each opponent gets two 2/2 from their hand while you draw 4. Or you can choose yourself if you want the creature back up. He becomes a lot weaker if every player only has one to no hand. The real power play is making two opponents manifest 4 cards with Echoes of Eternities, then playing Emrakul the following turn to steal all of those permanents. Just remember to keep Mirror Box in your 99 so you don't have to sacrifice the second Emrakul and the all of the creatures you have and stole.
The only issue I have is that it makes him look kinda small. I wish there was something to better scale his size Edit: I have found some info that suggests Ulamog is the right size, which is a little disappointing unfortunately. I was hoping they'd be like miles tall, like Emrakul in the promised end art
I think you guys are seriously underestimating kosilek. Its only 9 mana, wich is a realistic amount of mana to have without investing too much in commander, and dosent have any clause that keeps it from being cheated out in modern. You get to draw 4, make an opponent discard 2 and potentially get to play those cards AND you get a shit ton of power.
Your opponent gets the manifested creatures they "discard", but they are 2/2s to your 5/4s--at least, until they kill Kozilek. Then you both have 2/2s, but you still drew 4 cards and ate a removal spell. They're all much worse to reanimate because you don't get the cast trigger, but Ulamog gets counters and annihilator if any card is in exile for any reason, so it's definitely the best reanimation target.
This was already said a bunch, but the true tech for Emrakul is to counter your own Emrakul so it never enters the battlefield. Everything is now yours.
Ignoring casting cost, it's probably Emrakul. You really don't need Annihilator 15 or if you just stole all the creatures anyway, and it's protection is significantly better than any Ward. The only way to answer it (in time) is with something that was already on the board when it came into play (and in that case, maybe just don't cast it until you deal with that thing that's already in play?). I guess it kinda sucks against a zero-creature control deck (but they all kinda suck against those kinda decks).
ulamog defiler gets crazier if you have echoes of eternity or ulalek out on the field. speaking of. ulalek can clone copies made by echoes of eternity. so as long as you have the coloreless mana. you can make a army in a single turn. (you can also copy echoes with ulalek) in one match i managed to get around 40 ravagers on the board before i decided to stop cloning.
Theres not a whole lot of ways to get rid of emrakul that wouldnt just also get rid of your other creatures anyways. Correct me if im wrong tho i would love to know how to get rid of this monster
I feel like for Ulamog, it'll realistically hit a 5-6 drop in a lot of cases. I can definitely see it in the 99 of an Umbris, Fear Manifest deck.. which already enjoys exiling stuff
Yes, I agree. 5-6 is what it will usually start with. Now, let's add a couple counter doublers. It's going to be 20+ before it attacks one way or another.
I'm saying. It's functionally a targeted board wipe that can simultaneously earn you value by snatching the biggest/best board state, attacking the second biggest threat, then saccing all of it with artist or cutthroat or whatever to drain the last guy. Who gives a fuck if you gotta sac your board when the beast dies?
Both. The players you pick will manifest on their side of the battlefield. If you pick yourself, you manifest and control 2. A ranrom opponent manifests and controls their manifested creatures
Ullamog is the worst one in a 1v1, doesnt do anything relevant the turn it com3s down, kozi cicles 2 cards and "discards" 2 from and oponent and u draw 4 and get a shit ton of power and emra is a 1 sided wipe even if its countered
