There was a quote from klopp saying nunez was brought in to be an actual number 9 so I don't see him being in contention for the LW spot so I think that's pretty much a nailed spot for Diaz especially with iota being injured
Diaz is going to be nailed at the LW. Even with Mane available he was on the left. Jota much suited at ST , with Nunez and Firmino at ST as well. Diaz with no or less competition on the LW
I actually like madison especially in first game against brentford he has scored in last two games against them. He has also scored in last two meetings with Southampton.
$8 midfielders are often selected depending on premiums to have wider team coverage. And having this in mind even if I pick Gabriel Jesus I still want to take Saka. I think Bukayo is the safest pick with high potential. If season start earlier, we would see higher ownership for Kulusevski. He's a great pick if you don't have Son or Kane. On the other side - Madison is by far the worst option. Leicester is under big question mark. I need to see few their matches to see if they are progressing to even consider any player.
@@poolfans maddison is the worst option bro because leicester was a disaster last season, they haven't been active in the transfer window either so no one is sure if that team will be improved
@@poolfans yeah I understand, what you're saying make sense. But i still would prefer to watch 3-5 games of leicester before I put anyone in my team.Vardy is a bit off the pace now because of injuries and his age, patspn daka looks a bit average, so maddison doesn't have alot of players to really feed or feed from.
@@poolfans it's a good argument for Madison, but at the beginning Leicester needs to show they are currently better team than Crystal Palace or Newcastle. I would now pick ASM or Zaha before Maddison.
maddisson on a crap leicester side got double digit goals and assists on limited limits due to injury, had he had a greater run of fixtures he would be in my team
The thing about Maddison that's been overlooked is he's the one player on this list that could genuinely play his way into a spot in the England squad for the World Cup. All the other players are either nailed on to go or their country didn't qualify. If he's into double figures for goal involvements by October he's got a real chance of going while players that are already going might be more concerned with staying fit and injury free. That's why I think he's got a bit of an edge over the others
KDB, Foden, Bernardo and Grealish started a total of 2 games together on the RW last season. Mahrez will get a lot more game time than last season with sterling and Jesus gone. He's not starting every game but will get a lot more than last season. He played over 600 minutes less than Foden last season and only got 2 points less.
But those players didn't play on the RW last season because there were 3 players in rotation for the RW. With Jesus and Sterling gone you will see Palmer and Foden get minutes on RW as well as some minutes for Alvarez potentially.
They've specifically brought in richarlison and he ain't gonna be playing over son or kane so kulu is the one that will be rotated. Disregarding any injuries
@@haygo1603 the amount of people that look at this so linearly is astonishing! Rich was bought to cover all 3 positions, our backup striker to Kane was troy parrot 18 years old, if he got injured we are fucked. Lucas was the main sub and he's sub par at best of times. Son got subbed 70 80 min mark in 2nd half of szn just gone a fair few times, check his mins if you want. Kulu is absolutely vital to how we play, we lack creativity and kulu offers that. If rich plays rw it's totally imbalanced! He can do a job there, but he's not that effective at it. Kulu starts most games I ensure you.. he even has a better goal involvement than Diaz with similar minutes both signing in Jan.
The only time I'll get concerned over kulu's minutes is if we sign a CAM.. it would give conte tactical flexibility in changing to a 352 and playing with 2 strikers
@@aljaztrobis1147 nice, I still have Mount on my watch list for now but as the days go on I'm thinking I'll replace Diaz with him before the season starts
The problem with that is that Liverpool have 5 top front players to rotate, whereas Spurs have 4. So why is rotation significant for Spurs players but not Liverpool? Kulusevski had incredible form in the second half of last season, do you really think he will be ditched from that?
@@eldante4139 he won't be ditched and that's what Andy was trying to explain. They will be rotating from time to time but that's his position to lose, currently.
Here's an interesting Question... Where would the £8m or less forwards come into the rankings if mixed with the £8m mids... for me Jesus could be higher than all the £8m mids if we suspect PepRoulette will continue. So a 5-3-2, 4-3-3 or 4-4-2 could be more advantageous.
@@andyn6053 Of course it has. The question you’re really asking is how often. I would suggest even then the numbers should only be considered for like for like for like at each club and in which case, the answer is never because the forwards cost more. The point being that that forwards performing well /are/ the goal scorers by definition, ipso facto your logic is flawed as it assumes equality of outcome and not opportunity. Simply put they score more goals by nature so will score more points anyway.
I gone 3 premium, Salah, Harland and Son. I simply can’t go without son, I believe it will be his best season yet and I will not be surprised if he outscorers Salah this season. He is phenomenal.
He scored 23 goals from 17 xG. Basically you are saying he's out doing that this season, he's not an improving 23 year old, he's near the end of his prime. I don't see it, I think he regresses to his normal scoring numbers, he's never been a Kane/Salah level goal scorer.
@@dundalis I truly believe under Conte his strengths will be exploited further. Lets not forget the season before he got 17 goals and 11 assists (3rd highest total in fpl) then every season before that he had much lower minutes/starts so hard to compare with him now being a guaranteed starter. Just my opinion though, looking forward to another season!
@@dundalis son exceeds his xg every single season and statistically is the best finisher in world football. Near the end of his prime? He’s younger than salah 🤷🏻♂️
For me mahrez is the most explosive 8m mid but the minutes is a worry. Diaz is the strong pick as I just don't feel that jota can do enough to remove him from that position
I really hate the £8M price bracket and only have 1 in my squad to cover the territory. I would (and did) have loads of these at £6M/£6.5M. FPL is all about getting value. I want this year's £6M MIDs getting me £8M value, any £8M needs to be playing like a £10M and any £10M asset has to be a (C) option. That's a tough ask for anyone not absolutely nailed.
Raya steele Perisic chilwell TAA walker tomiyasu Neto saka diaz salah andreas Jesus haaland greenwood Thoughts? I think I could replace Walker but Idk who with and I’m not 100% sure about saka
Not currently got any 8 million midfielders. Currently sitting with threemium. Giving food for thought tbh Andy. Pre season is also putting a few issues in, like Jesus, Martial, mount etc.
love the ranking concept, definetly agree, I think saka is amazing but i want jesus to secure a striker price point, i could use the 442 compromise to add saka but im currently on jesus +diaz, thoughts guys?
Certainly nailed the best. I think its going to come down to who has the best run of fixtures. Only one I get a warning sign may be Kulu with the Richarlison addition. See how that plays out
My current top 3 are 1. Saka 2. Kulu 3. Diaz I really want Kulu but seeing Richarlison taking his spot in pre season is putting me off, + the fact that I have Kane and Doherty/Perisic already Only other person I'd consider is Mount. Not considering any of the city boys because of minutes
I’ve gone saka with the double up with Jesus. Not to worries about that. More worried about the fact that, with ramsdale in goal, I’ve got no arsenal players left in case I want to upgrade Neto to martinelli, downgrade Walker to tomiyaso/white etc
@@brynlawrence9554 Yeah exactly it could be a straight swap depending on how they look in pre season. The community shield could give us a good idea on that
Can you do top 5 gamble picks? I reckon mitoma for brighton is a decent gamble pick for only 5 mil especially with 5 subs. He had a decent loan spell and and is strong for japan
Rashford and Chillwell or Sancho and Trippier? Think Rashford could be a good differential but Sancho more likely to perform better. Trippier over set pieces and Chilwell coming back from a long term injury, finding it difficult to decide
Ive noticed that for a lot of these recent videos you keep talking about expected minutes but you never show expected minutes as a stat on any of the players, any reason for that? Maybe an idea to show this going forward a bit more?
@@sourseabakery6022 Still as a number 9, he seems to drift a lot to the right half space. So at least early on in the season him and Saka might collide in the pitch. Like Martial and Rashford in United on the left.
At 6.5 it's hardly game breaking if it doesn't work out. Most players in that price bracket are punts but not many of them have a history of hitting 10 plus goals and 5 plus assists every season.
@@ascenderiv5104 if it were a straight choice, for me, Rashford plays for the better team and has pedigree. One bad season doesn't make him bad. It would be expected that Man Utd will improve this season. Neto was a good player in 2020-21 but is returning from a long term injury and has the same minutes risk as Rashford, he is also playing in a team that scores less goals. The 1m saving could improve your team elsewhere though. IF putting Neto in means you can upgrade your team elsewhere then I would lean towards him but if you have the extra million for Rashford. I would go for it. Full disclosure, I'm 70% sure I will start with Rashford. Looks like he could be a starter and for that price is seems a no brainer for me.
Andy I think the effects of the five sub rule are going completely under the radar at the moment. A lot of these top teams will have the points in the bag not long into a game and I think we’re gonna see 90 minute top players become extremely rare. Especially when European comps start we might start seeing your mo salahs come off after 60 minutes regularly
I have Saka, Mount and Mahrez, Foden is a great pick but I feel like he will get rotated more because now they have a Striker instead of Grealish/KDB/Foden playing as false 9, and now he will play as midfielder more but I think both KDB and Silva are both guarantee starter so he will play less. Mahrez on the other hand will get more gametime because Jesus and Sterling left, so his main competition on RW is Palmer. Also I am not getting Diaz because I think Robbo and Allison are both better 3rd choice LFC pick, I don't think he will score/assist enough goal to get a lot more points than them.
Buh I think Diaz is going to be almost nailed at the LW. Even with Mane available he was on the left. Jota much suited at ST , with Nunez and Firmino at ST as well. Diaz with no or less competition on the LW
Unrelated but does anyone know is tomiyasu going to be a starter, I don’t think he has played in pre season yet for Arsenal. Is he injured and will he bit fit in time for the 1st league game? If not I’m going to replace him.
My draft is 5-4-1: Raya N Williams, Chilwell, James, Trent, Perisic Salah (c), Diaz, Son, Murphy Kane Bench : Balcombe, Lyle Taylor, Andreas, Greenwood Any suggestions??
Mount my only inclusion of these. Saka was a great asset last year but going with Jesus and Martinelli this time around. Both Man city players under consideration from gw2 though. Know his not 8m but Sancho belongs in this conversation. If he has any clue what his doing ETH will build the squad around him rather then the team's prima donnas
Didn't even realise Mahrez was 8 mil this season. No Sterling or Jesus in his position, Barca potentially dipping into their imaginary money pot again and buying Bernardo Silva this summer? If so it not only takes him away from a RW spot, but may also make Foden more of a central midfield option for Pep too. Could make Mahrez a great pick now. Haaland surely on pens perhaps a downside?
its amazing Kulusevski continues to get overlooked because of... rotation. And yet, Liverpool have 5 attacking players so obviously won't rotate at all. smh
If you're wanting to play safe GW 1 go with Watkins, Saka, Tomiyasu. If you're wanting to take a risk go with the other. As good as Rashford's price is, I'd say he's more of a wait and see
at 8.0 Jesus looks so much better than saka idk why you'd bother going for him, Diaz is 100% the best 8.0 he's got to be nailed as mane was. Whether you want to miss out on robbo for him is another
Do I start with Maddison or bring him in after game week 6 and start with Mount? And Olsen looked good today along with Leeds keeper in the friendly today. And do you rate Crystal Palace's two center backs at all?
Crystal Palace have awful fixtures, definitely wouldn't start with their defenders but for the future Guehi could be a decent 4.5 mil option. In answer to your question about Maddison or Mount I'd say definitely start with Mount and bring Maddison in later if he's performing well
@@andyn6053 Anderson I got that off another FPL channel his stats came up good. And I was thinking about Botman as he's a good player but now Kalidou Koulibaly has signed for Chelsea he's another option as is Zinchenko of Arsenal
Leciesters fixtures aren't great? 2 of the first 3 at home to Brentford and Southampton seems pretty good to me! Though I'm wondering about Barnes and bypassing the 8.0s until the lay of the land is clearer
People are sleeping on Leicester. Brentford and Southampton at home to start who are both solid relegation candidates. Arsenal away isn't scary, they would most likely score there, same with United away. Its really only the Chelsea game that is awkward. But nothing is perfect.
@@FPLJnr mine are James Trent and perisic as can’t quite afford Cancelo because my front 3 , just hoping martial is a good option going for a few differentials and trying a team with son instead of salah
A little bit yeah, can't be ideal that. Typically that news broke AFTER I recorded this. I'm not sure it would change the order too much though, maybe Mahrez ahead in 4 (much higher if we think he gets good minutes)!
I'm surprised Pulisic isn't starting with the spurs'friendlies. Doesn't make me want to have him if that's the case What formation is everyone playing?
I'd go for Saka, both are 8... But if Jesus score 12 goals, that is 48 points.. if saka score 10 goals that is 50 points.. and saka as a midfield willget u get extra points with clean sheet.
@@RenewedRS well that depends what kind of defence you want to make really. I tried ranking them just based on each other. But spoke about context for each one as well, like Robertson etc.
Massively underrating Kulusevski imo. Guarenteed starter for match week 1. Had a tremendous end to the 2021/22 season. Plus the fact that Richarlison seems like he will only be providing competition/rotation for Kane/Son since he hasn’t played on the right as often and Spurs already have Lucas Moura and Bryan Gil if he isn’t loaned out or sold who can compete with Kulusevski on the right. Neither of them are as good as he is, plus they just sold Bergwijn.
That's the tough question. With Saka at least you can move sideways to host of top players if Arsenal flop early. Jesus you are kind of stuck at that price point. Will take 2 transfers to correct it
@@FPLJnr i think people are forgetting the points kulu put up, after coming on midway through a seasin into a new league and system. Guy was an extremely consistent points scorer. Now with a full preseason and time in the league, guy is gonna outscore a lot of pricier options. Also, richi never plays on the right really. See him more as cover for son and kane, something spurs have really needed. Sorry for the essay!
