Here is how I rank all of the Boards from Best to Worst in my Opinion: 1. Rainbow Galleria 2. King Bowser’s Keep 3. Western Land 4. Goomba Lagoon 5. Mario’s Rainbow Castle 6. Roll ‘em Raceway 7. Mega Wiggler’s Tree Party
No board is bad but if I had to rank them I'd go 7. Western Land 6 - Roll 'em Raceway 5 - Goomba lagoon 4 - Mario's Rainbow Castle 3 - Mega Wiggler's Tree Party 2 - Rainbow Galleria 1 - King Bowser's Keep But I really enjoy all of the boards a lot, although the buddies do break some of them big time.
Western land was my favorite board when I was a child. When they announced it would be in this game and I saw it in the trailer, I got teary eyed lol. I agree with this list.
1:29 actually, the Ztar never took away a star in the original game of MP1. it was always 40 coins, hence the MP1 gimmick of Bowser usually selling faulty items for high prices. in MP1 the lose 40 coins part is what made Rainbow Castle a Fake 1 star difficulty back then and was more like 5 star cuz of that+lack of items other than the random item dice blocks you could turn on. 2 of which, Warp and the ? Brick block(can be bowser or boo) auto-ended your turn. the actual change in Jamboree, aside the item shop at the start that surprisingly, the great fangame called Party Project, did first, is the price of the Ztar is 20 now in Jamboree's Rainbow Castle, unless you have a Jamboree buddy, then its the MP1 price of 40, which's a pretty fair change, cuz MP1's was devious
My Board Top List: 7. Roll 'em Raceway - The board is basically just a loop without many options to go around on. The star only switches between two places and the board specific Item feels more like a disadvantage most of the time as you just cant interact with boo, buy something from the shop or let alone the star itself, it just feels dumb to pass by these events. The split path with the starting line also feels unneccessary to use when you can go up top and just get 3 really good dice items for the price of just 10 coins... 6. Mario's Rainbow Castle - The fact that there's just one single star space was always not appealing to me in any game, be it Mario Party 8's Goomba's Booty Boardwalk or others, just having one star at the end of a pretty linear path is just not a good decision in map design in my opinion. The fact that the star isnt even there half of the time and you just lose 20 Coins when its turned to Bowser's side doesnt enhance the experience, plus the fact that the tower rotate item only has a chance to switch the tower and isnt guaranteed... 5. Goomba Lagoon - I'm just gonna be honest, the tide system and how easy it is to just get a tide shell and change the tide is really annoying. This board is just heavily focused of warp item usage and the tide shell, if you dont have any of those and are stuck on an island you're basically done for if you oponents have tide shells to change the tide before its even your turn. Other than that, I do really like the volcano event and how the board feels in any other aspect... 4. King Bowser's Keep - Never ever play a 30 round match of this board... I did and got stuck in bowser space hell in the middle loop around imposter Bowser for over 10 hours to the point I lost all my stars, was in last place and someone else snatched my entire 8 star earnings by guessing the passcode on the safe... Played a 20 round game the day later and had a much better time on this map. I really like how you can get back to the start from 3 spots on the map and dont have to do some kind of loop that would just be extra unnecessary distance and the fact that everything Bowser steals from the Players gets transported into the safe that you can open when you're really lucky... 3. Western Land - You can never go wrong with a classic board. My only real complaint is how cheap the train rides are and how many spaces of the map are on the train tracks so you'll get run over almost every 5 turns. The keys also feel useful here unlike on most boards of Mario Party Superstars. Nothing else to say about this one... 2. Mega Wiggler's Tree Party - For a beginner map, this map is awesome! The gimmick with Wiggler being walkable and that he can change positions is a small but very effective thing, it can save a lot of space to use him to cross some sections, especially when the top right of the map is plastered with star trap spots in the later rounds. Just an incredibly well crafted map for my liking... 1. Rainbow Galleria - It's just the best board, what else do I have to say. This map is the peak of Mario Party Boards, there was never a better board in any Mario Party in my opinion. The many different path ways, the many gimmicks and events, the different shops; it just fits perfectly and is so much fun. The strategic plays you can use on this map are basically endless, on one round you could take turns at the start of the map just getting an item from the 1-coin shop over and over again to be able to get more balls at the lottery for a golden pipe later... First I thought the coin economy in this map would be way too over the top but with the 200% sticker that just balances out and cause everyone mostly has a lot of money everyone will just be speeding around the mall, getting star after star which leads to incredibly high risk, high reward chance time plays later on etc... I could talk about this map for hours as its just so good, definetly 100%ly my favourite of the bunch! :3 (I definetly didnt write this before and just copied it)
I feel like this is a really good ranking. Boards should be ranked based on what they set out to do, not by what they are compared to more gimmicky boards
And his enthusiasm too! So many of those kinds of videos by other youtubers are very monotonous, but he really brings out a fun energy that makes you wanna listen.
Here's a small fun fact: on Rollem Raceway, the Broozer is sometimes replaced by the Shycopper and Whomp from Space Land. I can confirm this fact since it happened to happen on the first time I hit the event space lol
My top 3 is: 1. Goomba lagoon 2. Wigglers tree party….(diddy’s tree party) and 3. western land idc about the rest tbh they’re all ok I will play them but not the very first match and!!! Still doesn’t beat Mario party 2 but I can confidently say it’s easily top 3 Mario party game
why is Roll Em Raceway higher than Rainbow Castle? On Roll'em Raceway, there is only one shop, so everything you do is decided on high dice rolls, its even more linear than rainbow castle. there is basically only 1 split path you can do since at the bottom you get 3 dice cheaply. Rainbow Castle has multiple split paths where you can strategically use items due to it's low space count and gimmick personal issue but i don't like how its a basic grassy road design which makes it the worst looking board that could've been used on a snow themed board with a slippery cars gimmick instead (My idea is there is a bunch of underground/sloped short paths, and each one you go to, your car gets faster and it it goes too fast your car slips and hits an iceberg that makes you lose coins. Also as an alternative to planning ahead, there could be less and when you go through the short detour you have a chance to slip. This makes a bunch of ways to manipulate where you land and also a better use of the Turbo Dice)
I guess I should have mentioned it in the video, but Roll 'em Raceway is just narrowly ahead of Rainbow Castle for me. Like I said in the video, I don't think any of the boards are bad in this game. I put Roll 'em ahead of Rainbow Castle just due to the fact that it's a new board and I really like the board exclusive item, the Turbo Dice. It adds a layer of strategy of when the right time to use it is so you don't miss out on a star or board events. Over time my opinions may change, but this is my experience from first playthroughs of the boards
@@mikebryse i see, I was curious why Rainbow Castle would be worse than Roll em because Rainbow seems better in almost every way. The turbo dice would be interesting if it had not as linear layout imo, but again it feels like it decides based on rolls. You can barely miss the star and then you have to go around the board for 3+ turns again before you can go to the shop again
Pacing needs improvement, too many unskippable dialogues and cut scenes. If we can skip mini game tutorials we should be able to toggle off repeated dialogue. Ally should have a toggle as well. Customization can fix this game. Same with economy. Let me play a cheap or expensive game if I want. We need more mini games as well. All the mini games could be converted to board play and imported from super stars. With customization we could remove them if we wanted to. Easy fix
I like rollem raceway but I think it would be one of my favorites if there was a star spot by the pit stop so you could pick that or the finish line for coins
